I like how well built and compacted the Hulkbuster looks, it's like tank from some angles. A lot of Lego mechs are rather skeletal.

Not sure if it was mentioned but I picked up the Hydra Showdown at Wal-Mart for $16.24. Not bad for set that isn't "officially" released.
Amazon will match them within a couple of days. Is anyone else annoyed about Amazon not having any of their own deals? The only time you see a discount from them is when another retailer does it first.

I am so excited for the movie. The sets are just holding me over til then

Got Avengers' tower, and I really like the set, but it feels like it needs a bottom to it...I put it on top of the barber shop with the detective office and it works decently (MIght need to do a little reconstruction to make it work just right though.

Neat little build, but I'll wait for the other two to come out before I make a real display.

    Dont mind the flowers...

Well, I'm assuming the 'real display' would be include a gauntlet

Depends if lego makes a gauntlet

for sure, if we get some infinity sets anyway.

I hope they give Thanos a gold hand with printing on it, or they will make a brand new hand mold.

@DrmnezI disagree, I guess LEGO would never make weapons or similar items as sets since they would be useless as toys. I think it is possible for a UCS Quinjet, UCS Avengers Tower and a UCS Milano Spaceship.

One can hope. If they make it solid and wearable that'd be pretty cool.

^I'll even take a fragile, out-of-scale, only for display, not-identical-to-source, Infinity Gauntlet with Stones

It may sound juvenile, but I loved the infinity sagas as a kid. I would love for the mcu to have an infinity watch at the end of infinity war part 2. But back to subject, I would definitely love Lego for making an infinity gauntlet. I'd probably buy two of them display a nib and a built one in a nice display case

After seeing the end of the new Ant-Man trailer I can say we may see LEGO bricks in the movie after all!

I have to say that movie looks pretty awesome.  I definitely want to see Evangeline Lilly in the Wasp outfit.

    Anyone see this?
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Marvel's_Avengers

i think it originally said the falcon from the winter soldier movie but now it says Bruce banner if purchased at GameStop.  I know it is not always accurate but got me very curious.
Of the two, I would actually prefer falcon.
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
^ I hope that's not the case. Unless he's in mid transition to the Hulk, Bruce Banner isn't nearly as exciting as a WS Falcon would be.

Maybe - if they give Falcon a proper movie-accurate wing set, that'll be a great minifig.  I thought Bruce Banner's rendition in the Lego Marvel game was adorable though, one of those ones where the actor's likeness really shines through despite being Lego.  I wouldn't be at all upset if the exclusive was 'just' that.

I like the mid transition Bruce banner... Kind of like the Clark kent fig which I think is awesome.

Dang it, I really want Bruce. Will have to get this game I suppose.
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
Just preorder it then return it
I think GameStop has a 7 day return policy
Usually I'd say thats not the most moral thing to do but I seriously doubt they care
Especially if the game isn't even opened
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
And I bet the Banner fig won't necassarily be mid-transformation but will have one side of his head looking really mad with green eyes like he is about to pop off
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
Is this an actual physical minifigure or an extra playable character? Asking cause the wording in wiki article is really 'good' english....

Would much rather have a falcon than a Bruce banner ; you can make Bruce with common pieces anyway. Also I would quite like a daredevil but they might be able to put him into a set if he appears in civil war. Although that might be unlikely considering the show isn't really aimed at children.

I think best chance of getting a daredevil fig is through a spiderman set like how we got iron fist and Luke cage.
    VorpalRyu
  • hmnicollhmnicoll Member Posts: 65
That was because they are characters in the show ultimate spiderman.

i can see Daredevil happening if Lego ever gets to break loose and do a few comic-inspired sets like they did with DC and X-Men

    I hope so anyway
I'm about a third done with building the 1st floor of his law office

I don't want the only "superhero" in that particular section of my city to be a Ninja Turtle
I don't care if they had the same origin story

They did Batman sets tied to the Dark Knight films, I imagine Lego could talk themselves into a Daredevil figure.  He just needs a good excuse - at the moment the MCU's introducing characters faster than Lego can pop them into sets, I feel DD would have to show up in person in a film (or the Spider-Man show) to make the cut.

If he did, though, he'd be in with a good chance surely, from a cost-effectiveness point of view if nothing else - popular name with history behind it, and easy as pie to make, just slap the graphics on a plain minifig and job done.

Daredevil already has a Netflix show. It's pretty good too.

Yeah, that's pretty much why they're talking about him. I can't see any lego sets being made based on the tv series, it's not exactly for kids. I'm begging for him to be in civil war though, it's the best chance we've got at getting him in lego form either that or a SDCC exclusive.

Daredevil played a pretty major role in the Civil War
May have actually been Iron Fist dressed like him but whatever
  • johnhenzjohnhenz Member Posts: 101
there's no reason why they shouldn't involve him. I guess they were just seeing how well the tv series done. In all honesty I think it's on another level compered to the likes of the flash, arrow and agents of shield. But that's obviously down to Netflix.
  • hmnicollhmnicoll Member Posts: 65
Personally I think they should put daredevil in civil war, especially as he actually has his costumes (not a spoiler it was on the poster) , and yes some of us have been binge watching.

  • johnhenzjohnhenz Member Posts: 101
I'm up to episode 9 but already I think it's the best superhero tv series and that is saying something because I'm so biased towards agents of shield. Still say we need a Coulson mini figure.

ReesesPieces  Yup, that was exactly what I thinking of. The Clark Kent fig is one of my favorites too. LEGO did that one right. They could have just done him in a suit, but undoing the tie and having the Superman shield peeking through makes it Clark Kent. If they did a Bruce Banner with a ripped shirt, green eyes, etc., I'd happily give Gamestop my money.

^ Haven't watched the show yet, but I saw that poster too. The new suit looks great, really looks like it fits the MCU.

I saw it on Thursday and it was great! As some people have said: the magic of the first one was hard to match but it was very close. The action is much better and it's not cliche. It didn't get as dark as I thought it would like the first trailer showed. Maybe I need to see it a few more times before my final judgement, although the last scene left a big smile on my face :)

I don't think I can say anymore without mentioning spoilers; I don't want to be the idiot that spoils movies for others.

    I'll give it a 7

After having seen Age of Ultron , I was a bit disappointed by some of the sets. Whilst the quinjet , avengers tower and hulkbuster looked accurate , the hydra fortress seemed as if they only made that set to put quicksilver in. They should have just put him in the smaller truck set instead of Thor.

It's funny, because there were lots of things about Age of Ultron that I really loved; the action was better, there were lots of one liners I laughed at, etc... but somehow they just didn't add up.  I was a little disappointed overall, but I can't really put my finger on why.

However, Age of Ultron really sparked my interest in the sets again.  Normally I'm not really into the vehicles, of which almost every Marvel/DC set is, so I ignored this last wave... but I think I might pick a couple up... eek my wallet hates me.

For me, Avengers was awesome squared, Age of Ultron is awesome cubed. I could easily go see sixty four more times, my wife & I intend to go again this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how it ties into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, just wish Channel Seven was still getting the episodes within hours of them airing in the US, like with the first few episodes of season one.

I do wonder after seeing the film why the Hydra set wasn't bigger (I guess)
It's in the film far more than the Avengers Tower

Here's looking forward to Civil War- they certainly foreshadowed it enough

Yeah, I'd happily see it again as there was a lot I did like about it. I thought vision was fantastic and the action sequences are unbelievable. maybe my expectations were just too high, I put that down to the amount of trailers though. Sort of felt like I'd seen the movie. I'd love to go into detail about what I didn't like about it but don't really want to spoil the movie for those that haven't seen it.
  • MissKittyFantasticoMissKittyFantastico Member Posts: 197
Loved it - I came out of the cinema feeling like I'd just read a really good arc of the classic comic, just up on screen with million-dollar effects, and that's all I ask of Marvel.  Kudos to the trailer people as well, not once did I feel like anything had been spoiled ahead of time - even the heavily promo'd Hulkbuster sequence had a lot more to it than had been shown in ads, and virtually the whole third act was untouched by the trailers in any meaningful way.  Good form.

No effect on my buy/no-buy decisions, since I'd got all the sets anyway.  Since nothing of the sort ever appeared (except maybe the slight handwave of the bit where a couple of drones used themselves as rockets) I'll likely dismantle the #76029 'Ultron glider' thingy, but I don't regret buying it - cheap (ish), useful little army for the leader Ultrons to stand in front of on the shelf, and Iron Man Mk45 for the Avengers group.

Did make me wonder in hindsight why the blue zig-zag 'flames' for the Scarlet Witch minifig, since her mojo didn't look anything like them; just using existing parts, I guess.  After seeing her in action I gave her figure clear red flat-top 1x1s instead.  Considered circles since that's how they're traditionally drawn, but I didn't want them to look too similar to Tony's palm repulsors.
