Hello,

I watched Only Connect on BBC2 last night and was interested to see one contestant, named James Keeling, described as having a love of LEGO. Does anyone know who that was or are they a member here?

As an aside there have been some cracking high-scoring first round matches on OC this series haven't there? Teams getting better or dumbing down with the move to BBC 2? ;-)

So is there much interest in Only Connect round these parts?
I tried to put a team together for the last series, but the people who I thought would leap at the chance at being on a team, ran a mile...

Ideally you want people who can get together, as the application involves a 30 minute online test, which you really need to be sitting together to take. They did say that if I couldn't get a team, I could apply as an individual and they'd try and put me together with other 'singles' (assuming I got through in the first place).

But a Brickset team would be pretty cool!

Any interested parties, let me know, and I'll keep an eye out for the next round of applications...

@BooTheMightyHamster‌ - I love OC! I do get some answers but I wouldn't say I was good enough to go on.

Me and my brother keep talking about doing a Pointless application, I think we might stand a chance on that! ;-)

@LostInTranslation‌ - I wondered much the same thing. I certainly seem to do better on the new series than the old ones, although that may just be because I am that little bit older.

I watch University Challenge and Only Connect religiously. While I tend to get between five and ten questions right on UC, I am lucky to get more than one of the questions right (excluding the missing vowels bit which is fairly easy) on OC!

I always feel stupid at least once during OC when the answer is simple but not immediately obvious. It's difficult to transition from the factual recall thinking needed for UC into the outside-the-box thinking for OC in the short break between them.
