853340 Wedding Distribution (Notification Thread)

edited September 2011 in Everything else LEGO
Quickly on the heels of the #30133 PoTC minifig polybag post by @Duchessa I'd like to make an inquiry about the new #853340-1 Wedding Table Decoration. On the Brickset News page w e've been notified that this has so far been found at LEGOland California. I thought maybe it would be a good idea if people could notify us of any other sightings, be they other LEGOlands or LEGO shops. I really want to get one of these, as I'm sure others here would too, but I don't get to a LEGO store on a regular basis (even though I live close to several). If I knew they were in store, I'd make a beeline for the store right away!

Just an FYI, I called LegoLand California and left a message.

    (760) 918-5346 Press 1, then press 5 for LEGOLAND California Resort Product Inquiries)

Within a couple hours I got a call back and they will ship the Cake Topper set to you. The retail price is $9.99 and I think shipping is 7.95 for purchases 0-$25 and $9.95 for purchases $25 - $50.

I had them send 5 so that I can ship a few to international friends since I'm not sure if the sets are coming to the retail Lego stores.

Spotted in Singapore for $13.90 SGD!

Sadly it was sold out as soon as it was available...
Someone bought it and posted it on bricklink...

I might have to stop into Legoland just to shop this weekend to get a couple. No Wedding sets at the Costa Mesa CA store.

I called the LEGO store at Downtown Disney. The associate I talked to said they don't have it, and don't expect to carry it. He said his best guess is that it could possibly be a LEGOland exclusive....

Finally got around to calling LEGOLAND, California.
I called direct to 1-760-918-5497 and spoke to a retail associate. She was very friendly, polite, professional and helpful - and knew exactly what I was calling for before I even told her! LOL! When I spoke to her, she claimed they had less than 10 in stock. I forgot to ask if they would be restocking.

Has anyone tried calling one of the Discovery Centers to see if they have them?

    good call @lostintranslation thank you,
I will be in London last week end of november, will visit lego westfield then.
  • LostInTranslationLostInTranslation Member Posts: 5,572
@supersympa: I was actually in westfield earlier and didn't see it. But I was in a hurry picking up reduced Halloween sets and could've missed it. You're in Sweden aren't you? My detour resulted in me being late for my Swedish class! Jag var inte punktlig :(

@lostintranslation ....Swedish lesson? now I know why you get your nickname!! LOL
I hope they will get some when i come over!
  • LostInTranslationLostInTranslation Member Posts: 5,572
@supersympa: Yep, Swedish is the latest language I'm adding to my repertoire. My boss thinks I can now therefore speak Danish too...
I'll be back in Westfield probably next Monday and won't be so pushed for time, so I'll have a better look then if they have it in and will let you know.

I stupidly forgot to look for this in Westfield again, but they deffo had it in Stratford cos I bought a couple :)

Both stores also had reduced Halloween stock if anyone's interested...Westfield had spiders (not surprised, nasty set) but Stratford had ghost/pumpkin/bat set. Two quid each.

Please don't go out of your way, but if you see any of the ghost/pumpkin sets at £2 I'd happily take a few @lostintranslation. But I suspect you won't be going again soon, so dont' worry if not. either way I'll try and find something nice to send you :)

@Savage_Steel: lol, no fear, yesterday was an exception as I wasn't in work so had time to dash around! I'll probably be going again 26 November, will take a look then if there are any left :)
