30133 PoTC minifig polybag

Just thought I'd ask if the 30133 minifig set has shown up as a promo anywhere else in Europe? In Sweden, you can get it with this weeks edition of the Donald Duck-comic. (Or Kalle Anka, his swedish name). I picked up a copy of the magazine with the minifig polybag for something like £3/$4.50... just a week after I got the one I ordered from BL, paying three times as much. My usual luck :-)

So is this something local over here, or is this spread all across Europe? If not, let me know if you want me to pick one or two up for any of the members here.

I'll see how many copies I can get hold of, and check the shipping for both Europe and the US. I'll get back to you later (here) with a total amount for both EU and US!

Don't really need one, but this seems like fun so I'd like to put my name in for one also! :o)

... btw, I'm in the USA.

I would also like to add my name to the list please.

@Duchessa - If you are able to lay your hands on 'x' number of these polys (for those requesting them), I'd be happy to take delivery of them to then distribute around the UK - reducing the number of international shipments.....if all is okay with you that is.
  • doodlebirddoodlebird Member Posts: 88
flump, you're a genius! add me to the US pile, and i'd be happy to be the distributor as well. one package to the US, and then many within the US for certain is cheaper than many packages to the US. and now for logistics... how would it work in trade/payment?

and this may be obvious... but this hasn't been spotted anywhere in the US yet?
  • bricksanbricksan Member Posts: 566
@flump6523, sounds like a plan and I am more then happy to do it this way :)
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
I would be more than happy if I could ship the sets to one person in the UK and one in the US, for further distribution. I need a day or two to see how many sets I can get hold of. I'll get back to you (here) as soon as I can.

And I must say that I'm surprised how many of you that are interested :)
  • drdavewatforddrdavewatford Administrator Posts: 6,754
Please add me to the (UK) list if there are enough to go round; sharing the load by shipping to one person in the UK and one in the US makes a lot of sense, and @flump6523 would be a trustworthy UK distributor.
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
@Duchessa , unless @atkinsar has already shipped some trades to me, it might be possible to have mine forwarded to him via @flump6523 to be forwarded to me, if he's agreeable.... make any sense? Otherwise sent to @doodlebird for US distribution would be fine with me. ... of course it depends on if you can even get enough of them to go around for everyone interested. Anyway, in the meantime, I'll check with Andy to see what he says.

Also, if trade is an option I have a few items for trade, including #4900 and #2856134 and some extra series 5 CMFs. :oD

I'd like a couple! I'm in the US too.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^^ That's fine with me Mike, I haven't sent your polys yet, so if Duchessa can sort us all out with one, then I can send yours on.

@Duchessa, bet you wish you'd never started this thread!

Please add me to the UK list if possible. Thanks :-)
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
@atkinsar - Well, let's just say that I never thought that so many people would be interested.. :)

I now have seven sets, and I'm going out after work today to try to get some more. If I get 12, all of you above can have one each. I'll get back to you later this evening!

^^^^ Thanks @Duchessa. Looks like the majority of UKs are happy to use me as courier (again, lol). Depending on delivery times, I am seeing some (including atkinsar) next weekend so if received in time, I can pass on the US trades to him and pass the majority of UKs on direct. To save on messing about at your end, I am happy to transfer the full amount of money to you in one hit by Paypal. Send me a PM when ready.
  • bendybadgerbendybadger Member Posts: 1,139
If there is any more room or spares I would love to get one of these too. Paypal and trades are always available. Great idea to use a centralised courier.

    Thanks Duchessa!!

This is what I call community spirit!
Thanks to everyone willing to get involved, especially to @Duchessa for sticking to her offer, especially since it seems to have grown beyond what she expected.
Let me know who to send a payment to (and how much to send) when the time comes.
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
Well, I think I actually managed to get everyone here a copy. I have 14 sets, and the kids in my hometown have parents who will try in vain to buy a comic for their upset kids tomorrow :)

If @flump6523 and @doodlebird wants to help out with the distribution, that would be great! Let me know, and I'll send you a PM so we can work out the details.

I have a copy of 30133 for the following members who has written in this thread:
    RHJ (UK)
    adello25 (US)
    nerick906 (UK?)
    flump6523 (UK)
    atkinsar (UK)
    princedraven
    Legogeek (US)
    rudekid
    doodlebird (US)
    drdavewatford (UK)
    Russell844 (US)
    bluemoose (UK)
    bendybadger
..and collect_that (UK), but I'll ship that one separately if he still wants the magazine as well.

That's 14 sets, if my math is correct. Those of you on the list without a UK or US marker - let me know where you are based, so I can ship the right number of sets. Also, if you've changed your mind and don't want the set, let me know. I have a feeling I'll be able to find another home for them.. :)

    Any questions?

^ great stuff, thanks very much @Duchessa! princedraven is in the UK by the way.

I seem to have come very late to this conversation, but if there's any spares......
    Cheers
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,076
Do they have white faces as shown on the bag, or normal ones?
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
@Matthew - I had a spare one, just in case :) I'll put you on the list for that one. You're in the UK?

@Huw - As far as I can see (haven't opened one yet) they have normal (two-faced) ones, not white.
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
    ^ Yep
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
@Duchessa - Thank you! You're the 'tops' in my book! ;o)
Since @atkinsar has given the ok, please have mine forwarded to the UK contingent in which case Andy will send it to me with other items he has for me.

Once you figure out the payment plan, let me know & I can pay you, @flump6523, or whoever.
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
Another detail: The sets cost roughly £3 or $4.50 each. (I'll check the exchange rates, but somewhere around that mark).

If it's okay with the potential distributors in the UK/US, I think that the easiest solution is that they buy the sets from me, and pay for the shipping. The sets weigh 8 gram each, so it's not going to be expensive. Then those of you on the list can buy them for the actual cost + shipping from someone in your own country.

If there's someone on the list who is not in the US or UK, I'll ship to you separately. Just let me know.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,826
    @Duchessa - pm sent.
  • drdavewatforddrdavewatford Administrator Posts: 6,754
    Thanks, @Duchessa - you're a star !

@flump6523, let us know what you agree with Duchessa regarding payment. In the unlikely event that the sets arrive in time for STEAM you'll be able to distribute some of them there and collect the cash, otherwise just let us know what we owe you.

Can i just ask, are people chasing this polybag for the fig (being different somehow), or just to own the polybag itself?
It is just a regular Jack Sparrow right? Identical to one from the sets?

The reason I ask, is that I have a complete range so far (but i'm not a sealed collector, so I've no real need for the polybag, right? If it's of a fig i'll already have).
  • nerick906nerick906 Member Posts: 429
@Duchessa sorry i didn't confirm my base. Yes I'm in UK.
My brother started demanding one as well... but if you cannot send two is fine! let me know if you want me to pay you or shall i send money to @flump6523 and he will distribute them between UK.
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
Thanks again @Duchessa , as Atkinsar stated I am in UK.
Really appreciate your efforts to support your fellow Brickseter's.
  • bendybadgerbendybadger Member Posts: 1,139
I am based in the UK. Many many thanks @Duchesa for sourcing these and also @flump6523 for sorting out UK distibution. A fine example of a community working together. Thanks to all invloved. Let me know who and how much to pay
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
@legomatt: I haven't opened the set, but yes, I think that it's a JS-version from one of the other sets. So if you're not at sealed collector, you don't need it. I'm totally a box/polybag-girl, and also a completist, so that's why I want it :)

  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
@flump6523 - Hm.. I didn't get the PM. Can you send it again? And @doddlebird, would you be willing to distribute in the US? I think it's just three sets going over there.

I still don't have the locations for @rudekid and @bendybadger. Can you get back to me and let me know where you are based? My plan is to ship the sets tomorrow, if everything works out according to plans. I'll post a list later this afternoon with names and shipping locations.
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
@bendybadger - you wrote your post while I wrote mine. Thanks for the heads up on your location :)
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,826
@Duchessa. I understand @rudekid is in the UK also - well that username in the .com website is in the uk. My PM sent is no longer in my activity either - don't know what happened there. Will do another now. Thanks again, James.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,826
Pm had definitely gone this time! :)
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
Yep, got the PM and replied!

Update: I'm going to ship all of the sets to @flump6523 later today (except the one to collect_that, with the comic included). He's paying for all of your sets, and help me out with the distribution to both UK and the US. So I'm posting 14 sets today. I hope they'll arrive in a couple of days :)
