Its crazy. I have this really over-riding urge to buy something during the 2x VIP promo. I already own most of the exclusive sets that I want to own and the other bits (Avengers Ultra sets) I will pick up when they go on discount somewhere else. I'm just sitting and waiting for the Kwik-E-Mart, but I have this real sense of needing to buy something during the promotion!!

Does anyone know on average how long it takes for VIP points to show up after a purchase online? My orders were shown as 'complete' yesterday morning but still nothing. Wanting to use them on either the Pet Shop or the Tumbler
  • ChubblesChubbles Member Posts: 459
could take a couple of days especially when their site is overwhelmed with activity like it is during 2x vip.  If you really want to get it now you should call them and explain the dilemma, I'm sure they could make it happen

To maximize points earning, I wouldn't use any points during 2xVIP points. You don't earn points on the portion of the price you used your points on. So, unless you're never going to buy from Lego directly again, you'll save more by waiting. ;)

Just bought #70145 Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper for $64 at a Walmart near me.
I am really enjoying all those trans-clear blue icey pieces. Of course LEGO is always better when you can get it at a discount.

Found a #70728 at a Target for 50% off + 5% Red Card. Not a Ninjago fan but stuck between busting it for parts, selling the pieces and minifigs, or holding onto it for future resale.

The labels looked shady so I asked CS if I could verify the bags and contents.
    Luckily everything was there!

Uh... I had resolved not to buy any set for at least a month (I have to save up for our upcoming new house expenses). But I happened to browse Toys R Us' website to see 20% reduction on select Creator sets... So I bought the Beach Hut, the Mountain Hut, the Toy & Grocery Shop, and the Bike Shop & Cafe.

    Now I wonder how I am gonna explain that to my husband... ^^;

I agree wrangler6915, at 51, I work 15-18 hr days 5 days a week and 8 hour days on most weekends. I have a full time job plus my side business. When I was younger I couldn't afford to buy LEGO in mass quantities, I would maybe buy 1 set every year. I don't smoke or drink hard liquor so that saves a lot of money :) Due to hard work I figure I finally make enough money to buy pretty much whatever I want and now I happen to want lots of LEGO sets. If I get tired of LEGO I can always sell it and recoup all the money I just dropped in the last 6 months.
I'm a university student right now and LEGO is one of my hobbies, so I don't understand what your mean buy saving. Maybe I will understand after I graduate.

Just received #60034 Arctic Helicrane, two copies if #60033 Arctic Ice Crawler and four copies of #60032 Arctic Snowmobile. Arctic theme is now complete (outside of overpriced polar accessory).

Now to look for some white and blue Base plates

@Renny, the only item we're missing from the Arctic range is that tent too, we figure at the prices its going for now, we don't need it, we got everything from #30310 to #60036 & #60062 (including #60064). Our five year old loves them & we think they're pretty awesome too. Most of them are still boxed at this point, we use building sets with our boy as rewards for good behaviour.

Just bought SW Red 5 X-wing, received two from the lego.shop, and one from a lego store.
My kids actully "bought" them.  Instead of putting their money in a savings account, they buy legos to hold and later resell for school money.  They've done this with Death Stars, MF, and now buy double of all the modulars.  It beats the interest % they'd get from a bank!

    Yesterday I ordered from lego.shop:
    • 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype
    • 75049 Snowspeeder
    • 75060 Slave I
    • And 4 packs of series 13 CMF, my first venture into collecting CMF's
Now I've got my eye on some of the expert Creator modulars.

recently got the red ninjago plane on sale for 10 bucks and I got a chima set, a kind of yellowish orange color, on sale for 13. And I got a lego tiger series 4 bag for 2 bucks plus the cop and robber poly for .75.

Found a bit of an odd ball though. They had lego 76030 ringing up for 16.26. Passed on it since I wasn't interested in it.

I'm doing final touches on my Hulkbuster MOC and I will be ordering parts in a few days :)

I'm ordering from LEGO direct so I really hope they arrive in time for Age of Ultron in the UK, if not I can wait until May 1st.

Hey all, it's my first time posting on here but today I was able to snag two of #70146 @ $40 a piece. My step-son was through the roof about it. Pretty decent haul I thought.

Ordered yesterday from LEGO S@H to get double VIP points:
    #70754 Ninjago ElectroMech
    #31032 Creator Red Creatures
    #21006 Architecture The White House
    #21013 Architecture Big Ben
The first two sets go with my mecha/Asian setup I'm working on.  I also decided that I thought it would be cool to get all the Architecture sets of places that I've actually been, so I picked the oldest sets before they go EOL.

@up I have a problem too. This month i spent about 1700$ on Lego :| and yesterday I ordered Detective Office and Ghostbusters echo. But i build... nothing because of work.
  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
^Me too. I am looking at over 40 sets on my to build list... some as small as battle packs and about 4 or 5 expanding past 2000 pcs. Since I have no helpers and no time this hobby is becoming a hoarding show and no fun.

Planning on buying some Architecture sets, since a Books A Million store just opened in my area that carries the line.  No one else carries Architecture in my area.

Last night I picked up SW AT-AT 75054 while shopping. TRU had it on sale for %20 off. Figured what the hey...it's on sale.

Today at lunched I stopped at Wal-Mart to see if they had any minifigs and stumbled across a series 13 box. It was my first time feeling the bags.  Tried to pick out as many unique ones as I could and with lunch break time running out just grabbed random bags for a total of 20 bags.

Seems I did well for my first go. Out of 20 bags I was able to get 15 figures.  Only need the cyclops to complete it.  Ended up with 1 extra opened goblin and have 4 sealed bags (Paleontologist, Egyptian Warrior, Skater, and Unicorn) I'll probably return the Paleontologist and Egyptian Warrior and see if I can find a cyclops tomorrow in the remaining bags.

I may be buying more Series 13 CMFs at TRU with their 2 for $5 deal this week, but I'm wondering, does anyone know if they limit this to one "deal" per customer in store?

I saw yesterday the online store only gave you two packs for $5. The rest got added to the cart at regular price, so it may be the same in store.

^ Try making multiple purchases of 2 packs?

I just bought http://brickset.com/sets/40086-1/LEGO-Easter  for £6.99 and look forward to building him.

Stopped at Target this morning on my way to work to check out any clearance. Found #70721 and got it for $8.99. Thought that was pretty decent.
