    ^ If it had a full-sized head, it wouldn't be a baby.

Or you'd have a very resentful mother.

I relented and bought another Wayne Manor section of the UCS Batcave (that's 2 plus the whole set. The finished Wayne Manor is looking as though it will be a 64 studs wide by 32 studs deep by 50 studs high behemoth.

After scouring local stores (Target, Walmart, B&N etc) hoping to catch some rogue Summer 2016 sets that snuck out onto the shelves (and striking out), I am heading down to the Twin Cities the next couple days and hope to stop by the Mall of America Lego store and a couple TRU stores to try my luck.  Really looking for the Service Station, Fun in the Park, Minecraft Fortress and The Village.  Also creator Vacation Getaway and the new Lighthouse.

Have bought all but 60095 of the Deep Sea Explorer sets. Also found an extra Base to make a larger Base. Can't wait to display them.

I am in Houston this week visiting my parents. Went to TRU and saw #31052 Vacation Getaway, #60134 Fun in the Park, and #60132 Service Station. They all look wonderful, but I will wait until they run a sale or promotion.

There were also a couple of the airport sets: #60102 Airport VIP Service and #60103 Airport Air Show. I am still not sure I will be picking any of these sets.

I did not notice any volcano sets, but I was not looking for them.

I've bought 2 trains in the last week or so and am Bricklinking one of the old train sidings.

This is in spite of the fact that we have no floor space for trains. Not sure what's happened to make that happen. Still scratching my head over it but fancied them so they are bought!

A box of German Lego soccer players reasonably cheaply. Will probably open them. Hope they do something different and broader for the Euro Championsips.

Soccer is boring - as it doesn't involve using our opposable thumbs.

Ordered 16 of the German football Minifigures from [email protected] and #31031 to bump up the order for free shipping. Not a football fan at all but the variety of the figures looks really interesting

there are lots of way to reply to this.
    btw Both type are boring.
the only time i can sit and watch "English" Football is when England are playing in the world Cup and are in to the last 8. and then i not watching for the game i watching in the hope that England win and bring home the cup.

i do have a question how can you call a game that has less then 20% of plays when someone kicks the ball, Football?
i can see it being called "smash-heads ball". or "throw-and-kick ball."
    or "lets-try-to-smash-the-other-players-bones ball."
but i can not work out how a game that plain as day started out as "Rugby" got called "Football"?

^It's "Hand-egg" or "Rugby with shoulder pads and hotdog breaks". Football is a funny thing, you get the likes of Newcastle that were just relegated yet last game of the season they turn Spurs (consistently 2nd/3rd in the Premier League all season) 5-1. Some teams play really dull defensive football all the time? they're no fun to watch at all. I do like watching all the Euro and World Cup games as there is usually that motivation to try their hardest.

It's all swings and roundabouts really. I'm sure there are football fans and American football fans who think collecting Lego is boring, so I'm not about to pour scorn on their interests.

I just like the idea that Lego can turn their attention to practically anything and come up with a good product.

anyone who said lego is boring. is working way to hard, and needs to work way less, so them have more free time, to do fun stuff. like build Lego. :p

American Football (is the term Grid-Iron used for it in the US) looks more interesting than our "Aussie Rules" Football, but neither have enough of foot/ball contact for me to call them football... Hate that the sport that should be called football here is referred to as soccer.

Nobody I know here in the states calls it gridiron, but it's not considered incorrect or anything. People generally just prefer to call it football, or "American football" if they see the need to distinguish it from soccer.

Originally "American football" was like a blend of soccer and rugby, with use of both the hands and feet to move the ball. At that time it was mostly played between colleges and the rules weren't exactly codified, so what rules were used depended on which college was hosting the game. Over time more and more schools dropped the soccer-like rules in favor of more rugby-like rules, but the name "football" stuck.

Going back even further, there are theories that the term "football" might've originally emerged not specifically to refer to games where you kick a ball, but to any ball game played on foot (as opposed to ball games played on horseback, like polo). Wikipedia has more info on this.

Side note, the word "soccer" was originally Oxford slang for association football, same as "rugger" for rugby. You can't blame us Americans for that one!

It seems like when I hear someone use the term gridiron they are referring to the actual field of play. But it is possible I've misheard or misunderstood.

Nobody uses 'gridiron' unless you are trying to be dramatic about describing the field.

    I just bought The Lone Ranger #79106, #79107, #79108, #79109, #79110 & #79111, all boxed, with booklets, nearly mint. All together for € 200,00 (aprox USD 224,38)
I think, it's a bargain. What do you think?

just picked up Lighthouse Point from TRU.  at 59.99 it is a little on the pricey side for a lighthouse but it was a must have day 1 release for me. Aside from the alternate builds , the box showcases 4 lighthouse designs you can build. I'm not sure if they are in the instructions but that increases the value for me.

I just arranged to buy a €20 box of Friends stuff (which the buyer helpfully described as being 'suited for girls' /rolls eyes)
€20 doesn't sound too bad except I can't even pay for a Bricklink order because my credit card is maxed...yikes!
But it may be just the push I need to ask for a raise in work - however with my negotiation skills (or lack thereof), I'll prob end up coming away with a decrease in my salary :-(

As a 49er fan, the "Autumn Wind" always sends shivers down my spine. Not in fear of the Raiders but it harkens the great Raider teams that would smash faces and kick butts as well as steeling the feeling of the football season. Love it.
