    Where to begin??
    Dam #75095 box is BIG!.
    and
#10243 box is smaller then i would have guessed it to be.
i image it as the same Size as #10218 and #10232.
is it deeper? no looking at it looks the same depth as the other 2.
can not see how deep #75060 is.
Right give me ten minutes and I'll get the boxes out their delivery boxes for you!

Im at this very moment very annoyed as Lego have decided to deny me a 1x2 grey brick and I can't believe I don't have a spare!!

you have to wonder how lego comes up with box size.
slave 1 look to be on par with the box from #60097.

I take it you are missing the 1x2 from the Tie Fighter? That sucks. Let me know what you think of the build as I am still in 2 minds about this one.

Also as you appear to like the SW sets, from your haul, leave Slave 1 till last as (in my opinion) it is a very satisfying build and one of the best display pieces I have seen as a regular set (still impresses me every time I see it in the Lego Shop and it's the one ship I wish I had the space to keep on permanent display).

No! I have an apology to make to Lego as I misread the instructions d'oh. I am enjoying the build so far. I can't see it being much more than a couple of more hours to go though. Just finished the bulk of the model and started on the "wings" now. But that can wait till tomorrow as my back is starting to creak.

nice advice. You are the third person that has given this advice about the slave. I've also read it from quite a few reviews as well.  From looking at it, it's difficult to see where this comes from but I will do as instructed and leave till last. Looking forward to my first modular build sometime this month.

anyone that collects modulars got any advice on which one to start first or leave till last?

It turned out bigger than I expected and for the first few bags it was quite difficult to actually see how it was going to come together but does so very well.
Can't help with the modulars though as the only one that I have pulled the trigger on so far is the PC, that may change in the future if they start making more of the UCS sets like the intent to cause gbh on hoth turned out.

go in order of age, olders set 1st,
so that would be PS (#10218), PC (#10232), PR (#10243).
as the modulars get newer, the detail in them get better.
by doing it in this order each one of the modulars you build is better then the last

I know what you mean, I made a conscious decision to collect the modulars last month after seeing hoth. UCS sets come out slow as it is but when I seen it I knew I needed something to fill the gap....I'd prefer a display able figure of the hoff over that. The UCS sets are quite slow so modulars it was.

    That makes sense.

Sales from a non-LEGO retailer during double VIP - decisions decisions.
I delayed placing my S@H order because of a deal on Amazon.

Speaking of Amazon - #41106 Pop Star Tour Bus and #70332 ULTIMATE Aaron for $53.29 total
Tour Bus was on my wantlist, and then I see it on Warehouse Deals for $39.35.
I need $9.65 for free shipping, and Aaron is one of the few $10 sets I've been thinking about.
The next best deal on Tour Bus was $47.03 total, so I basically got Aaron for $6.26

The listing said damaged box, but I recycle LEGO packaging anyway.

    It's a trap!

Went to my local LEGO store to pick some plates from the PAB wall and walk out with #10246 Detective's Office modular.

Picked up a marked down copy of the Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, mainly for the White Boba Fett but the book is also very nice, until the new updated version with the exclusive Force Awakens minifigure comes out.

#10232 Palace Cinema was my first modular and I had a great time building it. But I have to say that #10243 Parisian Restaurant (my 2nd) was an even greater experience.

#10218 Pet Shop was my 3rd and while good, I found the other two more gratifying.

Just bought #10246 Detective's Office and looking forward to it, but my expectations are it will be similar to Pet Shop (still good).

#10211 Grand Emporium is in the mail and I am expecting it will be up there with Parisian Restaurant.

Throw a coin and let fate pick what to build first :) Either way, have fun! There is no going wrong with any of the sets you got!

I would expect the contrary. grand emporium looks like a way more straightforward build than parisian restaurant, judging from the pictures.

Yeah GE is a bit repetitive with all the windows on the second and third floors. A wonderful set to be sure but the PR is the more interesting build.

Used price match Saturday at local Target to buy 20 Series 13 minifigs, got all except Hot Dog Guy. Went back Sunday and found Hot Dog Guy to complete the set. To price match the Toys R US 2/$5 blind bag sale I had to bring in a printed flyer from Toys R US - Target would only match one item from online ad, but matched 20 from the print ad.
Used the ad at local Toys R Us as well, still short 3 series 15 minifigs to complete the set.

I'm currently bricklinking this 1977 Car Chassis

Other than that I bought these duplo sets. I am going to have seven little ones here this weekend between the ages of 18 months and four so I am going to work on these with them.

Funny anecdote about that Technic set. One time last year on a trip to the Lego store, a woman came in with that set in pieces on a tray, with no box or instructions. Clearly she thought that Lego stores were like Apple or American Girl stores where she could get in-person customer service on even a decades-old set like that! The store associates were pretty perplexed but my brother and I managed to help identify the set and direct her to a site where she could download instructions.

Bad day for the credit card. I spotted a modular at a very good price on ebay late last night and for some reason it finished at 0700 this morning. so I bid and for once was lucky probably because of the silly timing. Then saw the TRU offer. Persuaded myself that Wall E was the perfect birthday present for a 6 year old and bought it online (with a poly to make it over £40). In the meantime the Tesco offer came online so 3 for 2 of course meant 6 for 4 and by the time I'd collected Wall E with 5 year old in tow AND been persuaded that another dinosaur set was necessary I appear to have spent almost £350 today but I do have £40 on TRU cards to spend and an enormous amount of shared lego between myself and a small child.

Hoping the small child doesn't drop me in it and announce the TRU trip.  He was well bribed with a poly bag and a McDonald's mcflurry but disaster could still strike tomorrow morning at breakfast! I've yet to smuggle some bags in from the car and need to make it to work tomorrow in safety

I'm having a similar issue. I just returned to work from maternity leave so I'm not at home to intercept the postman anymore, and mr. eanair gets home before me and sees the green 'we've missed you' slip...

In other news I had to get the baby a new walker, and I had to order online because the store was out of the model we wanted. The walker cost €39.99 and delivery was free for orders over €45 so to SAVE money I included the Toy & Grocery shop which was on sale for €30 - so really I saved even more money off the Lego because I didn't have to pay for delivery. That's some smart money saving right there.  PS. I really didn't like the Toy & Grocery shop since its release but got an overwhelming urge to buy it yesterday...not sure what's going on with that but it'll be interesting to see how I'll work it into my layout. /phew that was a blog post - apologies!

yea.   sometimes i buy sets only because of the awesome box art...
then they end up not being built and sleep in a drawer. when i buy i am full of inspiration for mocs from the awesome box art tough!

I caved in... Even though I still strongly resent TLG charging far more in Europe and UK for #21125 The Jungle Tree House, it was the set that I was most looking forward to in this wave, so I got it on double VIP points at least, from the Stratford store. (mutter, mutter, grumble, whinge...)
They didn't have an Ultimate Aaron,  so I ordered a second Ultimate Clay and Ultimate Aaron from S@H (my daughters have the original pair), so also picked up the Knight's Cycle and another Chicken Guy.
I think that all makes up for the headline price of #21125...

    ;-)

And I keep like 50% of my sets in the box.  just to keep them in good condition.

#70756 Dojo Showdown and #70741 Cole at TRU to go with the 14 CMF's they had

    3x Wrestling Champion
    2x Clumsy Guy, Ballerina, Faun
Kendo Fighter, Janitor, Jewel Thief, Queen, Astronaut

Clumsy Guy, Ballerina, Janitor and Queen were the only ones I could feel out. I wanted a Clumsy Guy for my hospital MOC. I'll give the wrestlers to some WWE fans I know. The rest I'll sell.

That transparent plate is probably quite valuable. What the heck is that drawer face though?! No wonder Lego almost went bankrupt around the time.

i love some of the random parts from belville, fabuland etc, i might have even bought a clikits set for the random parts in the past too. While I would hate and mock anything like that if it was released now it is very satisfying from a MOCing pov to have such random parts.
