SCORE!! Picked up #10211 and #10224 this evening for AU$1200 I'm pretty happy. Valentines day budget is blown to hell but I think we're both happy to have the last two modular sets we were wanting. Now to find the time to build them...

just build the usb drive in to a model and no one but you will ever think to look there for it.
as long as you remember to bin the packing.

in the long run this will see me save money.
in the short run. i well have to put off buying GBHQ for a bit.
not the best deal in the world. but it is not bad.
all the sets i placed a order for are on my list to get this year.
could i have waited to see if there would be a better deal? in a ideal world ware i had the willpower to wait? yes. however i don't live in that world :) i have no willpower to wait.

Yesterday while I was out shopping I picked up some discounted Chima action figure sets (2013 CHI Gorzan and CHI Cragger) at Tuesday Morning, and got three of the CMF Monsters and the Elves Activity Book at Books a Million! The Chima sets will be great for parts in Bionicle MOCs, and I love the little buildable bracelet that comes with the Elves book.

@Yodalicious Those dragons are rather cool looking.  I was tempted recently but have not caved yet.  I do own Temple of Airjitzu and loved having the set of ninja's, Master Wu and the temple itself.  I think my problem is just that I couldn't stop at just one so I just don't get any.  I would love if they made a large creator type dragon.  Perhaps they have and I am not aware of such.

Edit: By the way you are in luck as there is a new dragon the NRG Dragon coming up this year.

^ ^^ Yes, I got rather more Ninjago sets than I originally planned, after buying the Temple. I'm kind of glad that the Airjitsu Temple Grounds has morphed into Airjitsu Battle Grounds, but a little sad as well, as I was looking forward to adding something exciting to the Temple.
Ah well, I'll get some more LoTR / Hobbit sets instead, although I do have a hankering for FF of Destiny's Bounty as well... Plus I've got a fair bit of Minecraft to buy as well this year...  :-)

They've done a few Creator dragons actually! #4894, #6751, and #31032! I don't own any but I've heard quite good things about all of them.

Ninjago has been on a roll lately with great dragon designs, but I'm also really excited for the dragons from this year's Elves sets! Ever since we learned last year that the Elves theme would have dragons (albeit, at the time, only the baby dragon Miku), I've been trying to visualize what adult dragons in that theme would look like. It was tricky to imagine how the cutesy and curvy design sensibilities of the LEGO Friends and Elves people and animals could be applied to a larger, brick-built creature. But I think the designers managed to pass that test with flying colors! I love how the Elves dragons are all different sizes and shapes but still feel very lifelike. And it's great that there's a baby dragon and a grown-up dragon for each of the main characters!

@Aanchir I would have preferred Lego brick built heads on those dragons for the Elves series.  That said they do look good and I will likely end up purchasing all the set from this year as well.

I have seen that red dragon sitting on shelves in a toy shop here perhaps I should pick it up.  I think I may also be tempted by the NRG Dragon from Ninjago.  Ultimately I would love to see them do something much larger than what they have offered to date.  Those you listed are rather small by the looks of it.

Brick-built dragon heads are nice, but I think for Elves it would be hard to make them feel consistent with the smoother and more organic-looking faces of the baby dragons, mini-dolls, and creatures.

There have been some pretty large Ninjago dragons in sets like #2521, #9450, and #70736. Building a dragon much larger than these examples would certainly be possible, but it could be difficult for them to support their own weight and still have a lot of articulation in their joints. The biggest LEGO dragon ever to appear in a set was probably the Kardas Dragon from the Bionicle set #10204, and even it had a tough time supporting its weight in some areas.

I figure minifigure keychains would be too bulky and take too much damage in actual use.

#41105 from an Amazon Marketplace seller, #41103 and #41117 from TRU. Funny thing is, total was $30.22 on each site.
Sets I wanted and bought as soon as feasible, isn't that the way to go? #41104 was a similar deal but I already have it. #41106 was also on sale but Amazon marketplace had it fairly cheap anyway and I'll do that next. #41107 wasn't on sale, I'll wait till 2x VIP for that. #41004 I'll ge ton BL.

In all seriousness, online sales shipments are important to postal services with a lot of letter and postcard business lost to the Internet.

Got some vouchers in the post for spend £20 get 4 off from Sainsburys so picked up #75136 last week and #75138 this week.
Feeling rather smug with the irony that if Sainsburys hadn't been greedy with the rounding up of their sets the deal to get £4 off wouldn't have worked.

Sometimes rounding down makes it harder to reach a free shipping threshold, same idea?

    @KingAlanI ;
What should have been a £19.99 RRP set was on the shelf for £20.
If they had sold it for RRP, I would have had to make another purchase of something small to go over the £4 off £20 voucher, instead because they rounded it up to £20, got the £19.99 set for £16.

oh, so they only raised it one penny. even without your coupon, that's almost better than messing around with odd prices. I'd guessed they'd listed a 19.99 item for 21.99, or something like that.

I remember one time I got 2 $12.99 items because 2 $12.49's or something like that. was just short of $25.

Today when I went to Toys 'R' Us to participate in their Nexo Knights building event, my brother and I also bought some things that were on sale. #71234, #71238, #71203, #71204, and these two cuties. The fun packs were both 50% off individually and buy one, get one 50% off so we saved a whole bunch (even though the Toys R Us base price was marked up from RRP by a few dollars).

picked up 5 more #10695 from sainsburys today. at £13.33 each.
gives me 7 in all. this well make up the base parts for my Moc supply.
at 02.2p a brick and over 4000 bricks in all, it is a good start.

the Mecha Horse! is nice. not the best of the theme i will admit. but please do tell me what you think of it. i am happy with it. but i think my self i found the other £17.99 set #70313 is better. but that is my point of view. i am interested to hear yours.

for cool parts on the other hand Mecha horse wins hands down.
i would quite happily buy 4 sets at 50% off just for parts. (if i ever see them for 50% off. that is.
