@MattsWhat, Agent Coulson? He's not currently available in minifig form...

@VorpalRyu Correct, but I made a custom from some minifgures I had around.  It looked stupid with a gap that will most likely never be officially filled.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
I was figuring the same, which is why I came up with this...

It's my Lego Ideas project, featuring Coulson, May, Ward & Stan Lee (as S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Lee).

Nice.  Loving the microfighter-esque versions of marvel vehicles, count yourself another vote.  Here is my adapted stand - Coulson is on the far left.  It lives on my desk at work - sorry about the clutter :)

@MattsWhat, that looks awesome, love the Coulson minifig. While you're voting, if you like the Avengers & Funko Pop figures, you should look for another project, its by a guy I'm following on Flickr, mentioned it in the Lego Ideas thread here...

Decided to go ahead and get the x-wing.

    Gotta love the S@H team.

Few days ago UCS X-wing was backordered until October 28th.
    Midday today: Temporarily sold out
    Four Hours Later: Available Now

^in situations like that it is a good idea to call. They are usually able to get your order in regardless of what the website is doing or not doing.

I finally a bought a Palace Cinema, and kind of spur the moment. It was the last currently available modular I hadn't bought yet, and I couldn't pass up double VIP and the free Christmas train.

I just purchased the non F1 Speed Champions sets to get the free Christmas train and double VIP points. I feel like i should have bought the Ferrari instead but figured it would be around for Black Friday and i saw that the Speed Champions theme is continuing next year, Id be sad if i missed this years sets.

I will be buying #10245 and #10249, just as soon as the Christmas Train offer kicks in. I'm trying to stop myself buying #70756 and #70738 for a while, but I will most likely pick up #70752 and #70753 shortly, as they're cheap!
Otherwise, I'm also working on putting together a BrickLink order for parts to make #924 and #926, to add a couple of remaining sets to my pre-1982 Classic Space collection. Just #6842, #6861, #6870 and #6901 to go after that! :-)

I guess some people know the sets numbers by heart.
bought the ninja dbx for 50€. a nearby shop may have final flight of destiny bounty for 80, so I'll probably get that as well.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ Can't recommend Destiny's Bounty enough. It was my first Ninjago set and got me hooked on the latest line of that theme.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,709
it looks like a great build. For a line aimed at children, ninjago seems to often have interesting builds.

I agree. I wasn't taken by Ninjago at all and am still not particularly interested in the vehicles, but the Temple of Airjitsu changed all that (fabulous set, IMHO) and I also like a couple of the dragons and other pieces. I definitely want Destiny's Bounty and Dojo Showdown at some point. I'm also very tempted to get Battle for Ninjago City as well.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,709
I recently made master wu's dragon and there were more creative building technics in this model than I had seen for a while.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
I can only speak to having sets from it's most recent wave, but it does have some very interesting sets. I don't have the Temple, but have Destiny's Bounty, Stiix, and Mech Battle so far. The designs in this wave got me interested and many of the sets look great when built. I can't say it's made me a Ninjago fan for life - I won't be going back and buying any of the older sets - but this wave has made it much more than a kids' theme to me.
  • FaonzyFaonzy Member Posts: 3
Bought yesteday 75101 33% off in a local supermarket (not particularly known for toy selling).
First set for me of the new TFA wave. Funny thing is that it was not even on sale !

Well, as I often bring up, it's aimed at older kids than the typical LEGO City, Pirates, or Castle set. Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty in particular is aimed at ages 9–14 (compare to #60097 City Square which is aimed at ages 6–12 or #7946 King's Castle which is aimed at ages 7–14), and the complexity of the building process definitely reflects that higher age range.

A smaller Ninjago set I'd happily recommend to anybody developing an interest in that line is #70734 Master Wu Dragon. It's actually designed by a fellow AFOL (Brickthing), and his characteristic taste for NPU really shines through in the design even though he's limited to sturdy, "legal" building techniques. Even simpler parts of the build like the tea farm gate or the stupa use surprising building techniques. It's also got a lot of great humor like the crossbow-toting dog, the haunted food kiosk, and the dragon carrying a complete tea set. XD

I agree with that, Master Wu Dragon is a great medium-sized set and I also like the Titanium Dragon a lot.
Another set that I like a is Enter The Serpent, which is just such a nice "jungle temple"-type set. I like the serpent's head sculpture, the hidden firing missiles, which is a clever little mechanism, and just the overall style. The tan and purple colour scheme just looks good.

Separately, wow, there are some impressive things on Brickthing's Flicr page.

Battle for Ninjago City is awesome. I'm making a massive temple by combining two sets.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,709
the main problem I have about temple of airjitsu is it seems quite overpriced. battle for ninjago city retailed for 110€ (or often less) and contained 2,2 kg of bricks. temple of airjitsu costs 200 and contains 2,55 kg of bricks.

  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ I'm with you on that. I think I'd be in closer to the $150 range. For $80 more than the Temple, I'm happier with Destiny's Bounty, Titan Mech Battle, and Stiix. I wanted all of the ninjas and, yes I spent more than the Temple, but I'm happier with the other minifigs and builds I got going the route I did. But that's just me and I know I'm in the minority with that.

Tomorrow the Xmas Train should be avail. in Germany at s@h, so I'm torn as what to buy!

I've been puting these off for ages and I fear they may retire soon:

#76023 Tumbler (but I don't like only building in black - the Tower of Orthanc wasn't a lot of fun!)
#70810 Metalbeards Sea Cow (has many pieces, looks great ...)
or maybe I'll grab #70751, even though it shouldn't be going anywhere near retirement soon.

The other options would be the Ferrari, Mini Cooper, the Mixer or the Ferris Wheel as I've got most of the exclusives & modulars already.

Or I could just buy a couple of smaller sets and save up for a post retirement set .... Damn decisions!

Just won an ebay auction for a Kwik-E-Mart for £123 incl. postage. Happy with the 27% discount. Sure the seller has been mentioned before but here is his/her store http://stores.ebay.co.uk/BRICKSFUN  Only watched them for a week or so but from what I've seen, 20% off is the norm.

I have just bought and built #79003 An Unexpected Gathering and have to agree with the general consensus and say that it's a wonderful set! I for once used the stickers to get the full effect.
While I love the books (including the additional lore ones) and the films, I have only recently come out of my DA and so missed most of the LOTR and TH sets, but I'm very glad that I have got this one.
I think that it and #79000 will have to be my limit, as I simply can't start collecting another theme!

2013 king's castle. I was originally more attracted by the style and minifigs of the 2010 one, but this one is bigger and seems to have better pieces. Also I already have kingdom joust (which I had already picked over 2010 king's castle) so I prefer to pick something a bit different.
