And a bricks and pieces order to build the #75222 Betrayal at Cloud City Cloud Car.
I also saw a #75172 Y-Wing for £55 delivered buy it now, but I was too cheap for that, threw on a cheeky bid, and it got shilled by a 0 feedback bidder up to £50, before selling for £65-70. So I threw a cheeky £55 delivered offer to another seller, they accepted, and hopefully it will be with me when my wife is busy building her Lego.
Now if only I had known for sure that the Forestmen GWP was coming back this week... still I could wait until to 8th to get it with the new Castle...
Biggest lego purchase I've ever made, and likely ever to make. At least I can spend all those vip points on something in the future.
My wife thinks it's just a cynical ploy to distract her from the money I've spent on Lego recently and to get her to start buying it too. She's half right, and let's leave it at that lol. But she does seem to like Minidolls...
So maybe #75323 The Justifier instead. It's ludicrously expensive, but I really like it. And "free money", after all.
First copy. I like that!
This looks to be one of those sets where a lot of people will be buying multiples. Me included. ;)
The listing showed it as boxed but unchecked with a couple of food bags with nothing immediately apparent as to its level of completeness.
To my surprise it has all of the minifigures, most of the pieces and very little discoloration. Even better perhaps because of the other auction an hour earlier, and because of the poor photos and description, I managed to get one boxed with manuals and poster for a lot cheaper. It was a bit of a gamble, and after my loss on the eBay marketplace scam, probably a bit foolish too but it looks to have paid off.
I've literally just finish building it to check the contents and it's missing 1x black 1x2 plate, 1x dark grey claw, 2x dark grey grilles, 2x trans clear studs, 1x dark grey 2x2 plate, 1x light grey 3x3 plate, and 1x light grey 1x4 plate. Most of which I have in my collet as spares or are inexpensive to replace anyway. The trans clear studs seem to have taken the brunt of the discoloration, and I'm hopeful after a gentle clean the rest will scrub up nicely.
My wife go so annoyed at listening to me shuffling through parts that she even sorted most of them into piles to give her ears a rest hahahaha!
The other issue being the original builder placed the 7 computer stickers on the incline side and not on the flat side of the angled bricks but that's not a deal breaker.
The only real gripe I do have is that the seller sent this boxed item in a plastic bag... So the box arrived unnecessarily beat up. Overall though it's good to finally have it and boxed and mostly complete, at an unboxed price, so I'm considering it a win :)
I thought 2 would be enough. Someone at Rebrickable has already posted a list of parts you need to make the other 2 ships from one set...
Can't wait to build it!
Sales campaigns can be pretty weird sometimes.
But it appears to have been deleted now. Curious.
I'm still going to want a red Return of the Jedi A-Wing at some point, and reasonably priced #75175 are few and far between at present, so I may try and recolour this one, #75248 or pick up #75003 with the added bonus of an Admiral Akhbar minifigure to boot.
Moff Tarkin isn't bad per se, but his uniform isn't grey as in A New Hope. I watched all of the Rebels episodes last year but I didn't really enjoy them or pay much attention, and dare I blaspheme, I felt the same when I binge watched Clone wars and the Bad Batch too. I'm sure those shows will have adult fans somewhere but they were not for me.
Tarkin is really interesting to me BECAUSE he's not in gray. It's a unique variation from a well-loved series. I might honestly say it's the best SW tv series to date, IMO. The first time I watched Season 1 of it, I would have thought myself mad for thinking that was possible. But like many SW fans, including many adults, the series really grew on me, as did the characters. Also, Sabine minifigures are going to become a lot more popular next year, like Ahsoka and some others did when those characters appeared in new shows.
I can confirm that VIP points can be redeemed in-store: you don't need to go online to "buy" discount vouchers.
And you can redeem your points in $1 increments! (Instead of $5).
Now I can build both alternate models (with my existing parts.) I lack one grey bucket for the maneuvering thrusters- but I might have one loose. For the 2x4 Space logo tile , I'll just use an original 1x3x6 blue slope with logo. 😃
Guess it's time to study and dedicate a little extra time next trip to finding the figs I'm after! The Polybag selection was great too, so will have to add a couple of those to the pile as well.
I was able to get two elves, a Nutcracker, Reindeer, and Turkey. It at least gets my armies started! I had two more Reindeer packs identified, but decided to keep it to one for now.
Also snagged the Fall Garden and Scarecrow ploybag.
I'll post some pictures later, but thinking Scheels might need is own thread in the forums. Aside from the larger D2C/UCS sets, is say my Scheels has nearly as much inventory as my last local LEGO Store had. Nice to know I'll have a vast selection super close. They even had Ideas Treehouse sets, among many others.
Should I start a Scheels thread? There aren't a ton of locations, but their selection is impressive AND they ship through online orders. Free shipping over $50 from what I can tell. And a few larger sets currently in stock that I think LEGO has struggled with. Not sure if they ever have discounts, however.
