I see, the last time I was at the Rockefeller store was around July/August and the markup was still there.  It's been over a year since I've been to the Flatiron one.  Good to know!

    Hello all...

A friend of mine is off to NYC and they have kindly offered to visit the Lego store for me...
Is the statue of liberty and I heart ny magnet figure still available?  Are there any new NY exclusive items there at the moment?

    Thanks

I was just about to bump this thread as we're going back to NYC in March for my birthday.

@bmwlego -  we're staying W. 28th / 6th sort of area.  Any idea how long it would take to get to the Queens store on public transport?  We'll have Metrocards.  Lack of luggage space and plentiful availability in the UK means I'd only be picking up things that I couldn't get in the UK, but it would be nice to go and have a look round the store.

There is also a yellow taxi cab keychain, but I don't know the number for it.

W 28th/6th means you'll be closest to the Flatiron Store (200 5th Ave), about a ten minute walk. Next closest would be Rockefeller Center (620 5th Ave), which is 15 minutes by subway (R/W). Queens store is the farthest, about 45 minutes by subway (R/M).

If you have to choose just one I'd say go to the Rockefeller store.

I've been to the Rock store and the Flatiron one.  Probably prefer the Flatiron as we were there for the opening weekend and the manager did me a huge favour, but the Rock store is great too.  Will try and pick up some of the NYC magnets.

The Rockefeller store is a "must" if only because that area is part of the quintessential NYC experience.  But if you want to deal with less bumping and shoving, go to the Flatiron store.  They typically have the same items available, from what I remember.

I noticed that yesterday myself. There was #70604 - Tiger Widow Island at I think $35.99 - that's been OOS a while. I get the impression that someone found a big haul at the back of storage somewhere.

I have to admit, until you said it was a taxi cab, I thought it was a Hummer.  Not a terrible micromodel, as they go, but way more SUV than car I think, lol.
