Where Is The Info/FAQ on When/Why A Therad Is Closed

I just discovered that an item I started, a question that unfortunately appeared to have raised enough replies that it was closed, got closed after numerous posts and before I even realized a single reply had been made.

I thought you got email notifications when someone replied to your post but perhaps I mixed Brickset.com up with another site (easy to do after you get past a dozen or so). That said is there any rule, condition, FAQ or FYI that details when, why and or what causes a thread/discussion to be closed? I know some sites (i.e. news related sites) auto-close theirs after X days.

Thanks

I realize this is a VERY late response but thanks.

And, no, you don’t get email notifications of responses to your posts. You do get a little red number (notifications) next to your screen name in the upper right when you log in to the forum.

But you probably figured that out in the intervening 11 years :)

Either you mistyped or things have changed since you last checked because I do get an email anytime and every time there is a response to my post and have for years. My original question was about getting something telling you why your thread was closed, not any replies to it.
