Blue baseplat 4*6 - few around??

As of late there seems to be a need for blue 4*6 baseplates but i have very few of them but loads of Mega Bloks ones. I have 70 kgs of lego but blue is a difficult colour.
Makes me wonder if lego produces few of say blue tiles and mega bloks see a gap in the market turns out loads...
Not a big problem, but annoying when you are building....

Do you mean 4x6 plate? If so, they're not that uncommon. There are nine in #31011. In the US, they're available at BL for about 20 cents in quantity.

^ I have 51 in my BL store. Since I parted out a few of that set.

According to BrickLink, it's always been pretty consistent:

4x6 blue plates by year since 1994:

I buy lego in bulk 10 kgs at a time and there are loads of blue mega bloks but few lego ones. Maybe i have been unlucky with my joblots, just thought it was strange.
Rather than buy one brick, i will just buy another 10 kgs and hope i get what i need....

I can understand the desire to buy large lots, but that doesn't seem particularly efficient if you want specific pieces.

    You do have a point...
I buy and sell lego so if the set only sells for £10 then it is not worth while. I got two toy story cars that needs a 4x6, might as well just sell the figures on their own, but the car is fun for children. And children like to follow manuals and use the right coloured bricks.
