An introduction (and a request for assistance)

Hi, I've just joined less than 24 hours ago and I'm here mainly because I need help, but also because this website seems really cool.

So with the new Tumbler set coming out in September (http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Tumbler-76023), I find myself getting back into my old Lego RC stuff from the Hot Flame set (8376). However, I've lost my actual remote control for this set. I've read online that it's 27 MHz, but it's also 3-channel. Does anyone know I'd there are unofficial, generic-type controllers that I can buy online to replace this one? I've seen the actual Lego ones on BrickLink, but I'm looking for something maybe cheaper.

I can't imagine finding them anywhere but bricklink unless you have a bit of luck finding one on eBay.

Welcome to the forums! one of us, one of us, one of us. ;P

I don't know to much in the train department so I can't exactly help you but I hope you find it. :)

Wonder if the Sbrick would work with the motor and steering unit? Not that it would be as simple as a replacement transmitter, nor as cheap perhaps.

Ooooh, now you've got me tempted too.

edit - although given the prices on bricklink - perhaps not.
