I'm sure if you went into the store on the 17th-31st and spent $99, you would receive the 'Brick Apple', the Holiday set and double VIP points.
the holiday set seems like there is a lot more going on then the normal freebie, so I wouldn't be surprised if they required the coupon for that. we shall see.
application probably varies by store as well. some stores and employees will give away the freebies like crazy - multiples per order, etc. others are probably more stingy I imagine.
