Favourite minifigs within the LEGO themes

Ok, so they'll have been a million threads like this, but as Im not a fan of the licensed ranges. i thought I'd try put a slightly different spin on things...

What is your favourite Minifigs within the Lego themes? So not including licensed themes or the minifigures series!

My favourite lines are all small and/or short lived but to kick things off:

I wish we got more of a back story/names of my favs: The Wolfpack. But I'll go with:

Wolfpack Bandit (of any variation, they were all really cool)

Rob N. HoodDingo Melbourne (from the Outback line. Now he is not a pleasant looking fig but he captures the outback theme pretty well)

Dojo My favourite from the Castle: Ninja line. 'Red Ninja Master' and 'Chief Kendo' also pretty cool

Sherpa Sangye Dorje from Orient expedition

King Kahuka islanders chief. Achu from Amazon adventurers also a great fig

Sorry got carried away!

Over to you!

I have a feeling that I might be in a minority here but I love the really colourful knight minifigures from the Knights Kingdom theme. Especially Danju - the purple knight. I think they are great for Fantasy MOCs, rainbow knights!

I will echo Swamp Creature. Too many Castle and Kingdom figs to list. Always liked the Spyrius droid and is this the appropriate thread to admit to a mild childhood crush on the Ice Planet babe?

I've got a pirate figure that came with a bricks and more set that I love. He has a blue shirt and an eye patch, but I think what I like about him is that he has the typical Lego Smile in spite of the fact he is a pirate. Its in 6192.

I have this Infomaniac figure from the Lego Island PC game. He's awesome, and still one of my most treasured minifigures. Other favorites include Jock Closeau, the neon-blue helmed Aquanaut with a red headband from Aquazone's first wave, and the Black Knight with the white plumes (found only in #6086 Black Knight's Castle). Alpha Draconis from the U.F.O. wave was particularly terrifying, but I preferred his blue lieutenant even more.

When I was a kid, one nameless Town figure somehow captivated me. He has no name, but he comes in the Victory Cup Racers set that took FOREVER for me to obtain in spite of the desirable minifigure. He has a red ballcap, green vest, white arms, and blue pants, with cool blue sunglasses on his face. Maybe that color mixture really grabbed my 5 year-old attention. All I know is that I'm most glad I now have him in my collection.

I've always liked the Unitron Chief figure. The gray/blue/yellow colors just seem to work for me. And the helmet printing on the Chief figure is very well-done.

The Lego Universe Astronaut is one of my favorites. the simple Orange suit and helmet, its no wonder the old spacemen are so popular when it translates so well across all colors.

another favorite is/are the Jesters (both the blue/red and the red/white ones) but then again I'm partial to jesters universally.

Brick Daddy from Space Police 3 will always have a special place in my heart. I also love (don't quite know if it's a minifig) those brain sucker aliens from Alien conquest. I love how they fit on like helmets, genius!

To echo @CCC‌, the Anubis Guard and Swamp Monster are great minifigs.

Some of my favourites come from the CMF range: Hazmat Guy (S4), Royal Guard (S5), Scarecrow (S11), Toy Soldier (promo), among others.

    Other shouts from me:

    - Castle Male Peasant (appears in MMV)
    - Monster Fighters Zombie Bride and Groom
    - Winter Village Carolers

Mine too, but they were disallowed.

I would have the CMF Monster S4 in there instead of the Butler, along with the countless army builders.

Ah, I was wondering why they hadn't been mentioned yet, missed that in the OP.

Initially I hated them, being a massive fan of the other castle lines.

However after reading the 'back story' and realising it was more a fantasy line than anything else I had a little more time for it.

Still not bothered to get a single set though.

However Danny is the best due to the wolf emblem!

I'd really love some sort of a overdraft sets where some original lines are incorporated into new sets.

The original blacktron minifigure. I just loved them when the first appeared and, perhaps sentimentally, they still just ooze coolness. I also really liked the Futuron figures when they first replaced the classic space figures (sorry if thats heresy?). Just that triangle of white, a zip and a proper helmet with visor brought them right up with the sci-fi of the time. At the time the classic space figures were to be honest really boring. Robin hood and co were also firm favourites in my youth with what felt like very advanced designs (the little bags of money for example).

More recently, I was very impressed with the recent~ish (2009/2010) pirate theme figures. The Imperial soldier II and shipwrecked sailor from Loot Island (#6241) stand out. The former blow the original red and blue soldiers out of the water!

The astronauts from the Space Port theme were also a real eye opener after returning from my dark ages. A proper astronaut with proper astronauts helmet and reflective visor. Mind blowing for someone whose last minifigure would have been from about 1989.

I was looking at some of my nephew's old Futuron torsos yesterday, thinking how dated they look compared to ... classic space. The shell suit style zip design looks so 1980s future, rather than the "now" future.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
^ oh absolutely, it didn't necessarily date well but back in the 1980s it was so much better than classic space. (As were the large blue transparent pieces with white and black bricks). As someone who was surrounded with grey, blue and trans yellow of classic space (my brothers' lego) playing with it felt like watching a black and white sci fi tv series where as futuron was like full colour 1980s TV. Fresh, exciting and of its day.

I was looking through BL yesterday killing time and I was perusing some of the old UFO subtheme sets - some of those minifigs are pretty cool and I think were cutting edge...at least for 1997. : )

Okay...while we're all coming out of the proverbial minifig closet, I really like the small translucent Power Miner monsters. Looking at all eight of them lined up nicely in the MF case while I eat my breakfast in the morning always puts me in a good mood before the day is ruined by traffic.

I'm a fan for the printed slope dresses, specially from castle/pirates. The details are mostly extraordinary.

I'm partial to the evil wizard from #7093. Something about the one red eye and the printed hat.
