saying hello .....

I am a wife, mother and grandmother but in my spare time I am a big kid. I collect all kinds of dolls mostly 1/6th scale Barbie's and action figures and recently I decided to branch out into Barbie megabloks and I have to say, I am hooked.

My birthday is coming up so hubby let me invest in the megabloks mansion, half price from Argos and I spent literally all day playing with it. I told him "I only want this kit, I doubt I'll be interested in the other kits" ... and the rest

now I have the pool, the convertable and a few extra bits and I even found a cheap yacht for my little lego (well megablok) girls and boys which I'm kit bashing.

Is that a faux pas in the lego world, calling something Lego when it's not?

Like most people these days we have to watch the pennies so I'm all for kit bashing pieces I already have or which I hope to pick up from car boots or flea markets in the future. I'm only a beginner so I shall be on the look out for hints and tips :)

Another cool thing is that these little figures are just the right size for my one sixthers to play with but that's going off topic.

I hope to share pictures of my customized builds in the future and can't wait to see all your builds and get to know everyone :)

Thank you for letting me in to play,
MJ

    Welcome to the forum @Majajo.

I'd just like to draw your attention to this FAQ regarding 'clone brands' (products compatible with LEGO but made by another company).

While you will find that a few members may be interested in Mega Bloks and similar products, Brickset is a LEGO site and therefore the discussion of clone brands is strongly discouraged.

    Many thanks

Thank you for your saccharinn welcome Mathew, however I joined the site because it was called Brickset, I assumed bricks were bricks regardless of who makes them, my mistake. Most of the bricks I have at the moment are megablocks and while I was beginning to extend my new collection with lego and any other compatible bricks I didn't realize there would be any prejudice here. I did read the rules beforehand and didn't see anything about restricted discussions regarding what you call 'clone brands', also when I registered, I wrote in the why you want to join section that I only had megabloks. No doubt this comment will be erased but at least I got to say my piece.

Welcome @Majojo, but Matthew is right, we don't tolerate positive discussions about clone brands and you're unlikely to get a very warm welcome from others if you talk about them here.

We're called Brickset because 'LEGO' can't be used in domain names.

    Sorry!
