Lego Chess Set?

Hello, as I am new to Lego collecting I'm only interested in the Lego Figures themselves, But I was wondering If there was ever a Lego Chess Set. I would buy that in a heartbeat if they made one. I think it would be kind of cool to have a Lego Chess set and be able to actually use it to play a game with. Does anyone else Think this is a good idea or Is there already something like this. I guess I could make a chess board pretty easy then select some random figures for pieces. Also a Checkers board would be pretty cool. Could easily make those pieces.

Best one IMHO: 852293 - Fantasy Era Castle Giant Chess Set.

Oh very awesome, I love the Fantasy Era Castle Giant Chess Set as well. The Figures are amazing, and I love the style of board how it uses the smooth flat pieces. I'm just not so sure I like the extra bits and pieces around the edges. Makes it look cluttered. It is pretty amazing tho. If only I could buy this for cheap some where lol.

The giant one is nice, although the Kingdoms one is more like a traditional size, and somewhat easier on the wallet.

yes, I Like the one (678) I believe that's the number. Its pretty clean looking with nice blue pieces and red pieces. Much more affordable. But knowing me I will try to find and get the Giant Chess set because it does look very cool. and I more then likely will never use it to play so it will be nice to have something decent to display. Plus since im new and I only have 1 mini figure (Mr. Gold) I cant have a cheap chess board next to it haha.

Yes, the most recent one. It has only recently gone out of stock, so it is not too bad in price.

I bought two, but didn't actually play chess with them as they were to bolster my Kingdoms armies :-)

Yes I seen this one posted on a few sites Ebay and such. To be honest I think the other (678) is better in my opinion. Sure the figures are more detailed and such. But the board itself and that stupid plastic thing around the edge makes it look like a plastic kids toy you would find at the 99 cents store. I know you don't have to use the plastic bottom part but still In my opinion I don't honestly like that one. I guess I have bad taste lol.

Yes, the outer section doesn't please lego fans so much. Although my kids like them for their other castle type toys.

I eventually want the Kingdom board. My kids and I recently built a MOC chessboard, but we have disagreement about how to make the pieces. For example, I want R2-D2 to serves as white rooks, but they want only minifigures. I don't want it to be hard for my kids to remember which fig is which piece....
