Lego Yard Sale Finds

My wife and I like to go to yard sales (also known as garage sales or tag sales) on the weekends and I always get excited when I find Lego. It doesn't have to be a spectacular find to cause that initial thrill and "Hallelujah Chorus" moment. I've dug through boxes of dirty toys just to get hold of every chewed up Lego in them, and I've found complete sets going for dirt cheap.

This weekend I found the Creator game for a dollar. I was just going to use the elements but when I got home I discovered that only three pieces were missing which were easily replaced, so I decided to keep it in tact for now. Not a great discovery, but still an expensive Lego item for a dollar!

So I wondered if anyone else enjoyed looking for Lego at yard sales and flea markets and such and had any finds to brag about.

I have been recently going to more and more garage / yard sales. I hardly see Lego's tho. Maybe because i'm new to lego's so I was not really looking for them. I will be looking for them from now on.

Today, at the flea market, I found a jet engine cowl mixed in with older model cars, which I bought along with a bunch of '80s toys. Now, all I need to find is my fan turbine, and I'll have a complete jet engine.

One time I went to a yard sale and someone's grandma found two Lego sets before I saw them. I wanted to tackle her. ;)
