I buy very little from TRU because their prices are above MSRP. Until Lego gets more Lego Brand stores out there TRU will continue to jack the prices to take advantage of the fact that they have a large enough selection to warrant going there to by the Lego line.

Even my local Target has jacked some prices as much as 20 to 30% above retail and have the audacity to have a sign that says they compare prices all over the landscape and have the lowest values around...utter b.s.. But TRU is still the prime offender.
One thing I did find decent at TRU is the Space Police Central. I missed it last year and on like eBay it's going for well over a $100-$120 bucks and TRU had it for $88.00, so I jumped on it.

Glad I bought both the SW Advent and Series 5 figs before the increase. Not a super SW fan but the City Advent is a Police Advent and I've got enough Police figs to staff several Police HQs but the Yoda Santa fig comes with such perfect Santa torso I couldn't pass the set up.

While at TRU I scanned the prices and thought, wow they're not that bad. Most of the prices are at LEGO Retail. Should have remembered that TRU keeps the prices at RRP for a couple of weeks and then jacks them up to where it isn't worth shopping there anymore.

Good find legoDad. That looks to be an awesome set. I've got to build that set myself. I have owned it since it 1st hit stores but just haven't gotten around to building it yet. So sad to see the SP 3 line end but man is Alien Conquest a fun theme to build!

They raise prices for one simple reason.. TO MAKE MONEY... if they know that fools will buy a crappy SW advent calendar for 40 (and considering how fast it sold out the first time-even though I think the calendar was on sale- they figured they could make more off of it), then they will bump the price, and as long as people are willing to fork over $50 dollars for a calendar then they will continue to do it.

The other possible reason for this kind of bump is that there is a Lego wide BOGO50 coming up and they want to make max money off of their sales
