75054 AT-AT Comparison Photos

Hello,

I am about to start on a review of #75054 AT-AT and was wondering if anybody who owns the new set and any two of the three older Minifigure scale AT-AT models - #4483 #8129 #10178 - could provide me with a couple of photos comparing them.

I do not own #8129 or #4483, hence I am looking for somebody who does. If you happen to have all of them then a comparison image of all four would be fantastic, although a shot of just two of them and #75054 would be very welcome. There is no rush, I would just like a photo of the best possible quality.

Please send me a message if you can help, and I will give you some more precise details. Finally I should mention that this review will be published on the Brickset homepage, and your photo will be attributed to you.

Thanks,

Chris

Although not a canon Lego set, including a mention/comparison to @cavegod's AT-AT would be cool.

    :-)

I have more pictures of my copy of Cavegod's AT-AT then you could ever need, e.g. at :

    Take what you need.

This is something I'd like to see! All I have is the original #4483 which is the first Lego set my wife gave me for Christmas.

@graphite‌ and @drdavewatford - I don't suppose either of you have (or are planning to buy quite soon) #75054 AT-AT? A comparison photo with Cavegod's UCS AT-AT would be great!

I am still looking for anybody with #75054 who also has two or all three of the earlier AT-AT models for a comparison photo, so if you can be of any help, please PM me.

CapnRex. Are you in the USA? I would be willing to loan you a #4483 if you can collect the others. You would just be out some postage to send it back. Or if anybody in the Raleigh, NC area has #8129 #10178 maybe we could get together for a photo shoot. I also have Cavegods AT-AT.

I am in the UK I am afraid @ecmo47‌ but many thanks for the offer.

@CapnRex101‌ Chris, absolutely no promises but if i can find my AT-ATs you're welcome to borrow them. you're brighton way, right?

i've got #4483 and #8129. might even be able to get hold of the motorised one from a friend too. i'm being vague because they're broken down and boxed up at my gf's house as i'm in the process of moving (or trying to)... i'll try and find them this weekend if you're interested, G

ps... you might have to make them too ;)

@obi_g‌ - That would be great. I have the motorized one, so would not need to borrow that, but if you could lend me #4483 and #8129 it would be much appreciated.

I am in Eastbourne, so a little down the coast from Brighton, but I can get over there just about any weekend (I have a trip down to the LEGO store on the cards anyway).

@CapnRex101 no plans here to buy it, or at least not to build.

I'll get 75054 eventually but no rush - it looks a little.....small to get too excited about.

    ;-)

Pete's picture of UCS AT-AT + 4483 below, incidentally - if you build and photograph @obi_g's 4483 then that will allow readers to extrapolate the scale.

@obi_g‌ - Thank you very much! I don't need the Minifigures so no worries about that. I will PM you and sort out when I can come and get them :o)

75054 doesnt have the red visor across the nose....I just noticed that from the set pics. :O That's one of the most iconic signatures of the AT-AT.......

^ Uh, none of the other versions have had it either...

Here's a comparison of the pieces used for the UCS version to go with the picture of the bags above.

    Weird,

What am I looking at here? Why are you hanging from the earth by your feet like bats?

Actually the huge walker is very unstable so I glued it all together... ;)

Didn't need an excuse, but I did feel guilty about lending @CapnRex101‌ two bags of Lego so...

Waiting until @CapnRex101‌ review but I prefer the new one to the older versions. It seems more film accurate.

As an aside I really should get around to building @cavegod‌ USC AT-AT. Looks amazing even if he beat me to a USC rebel transport. :-). I would do my own but it kind of like trying to follow the cysteine chapel with a paint by numbers :D

^ It improves in some areas, but compromises in others. Most notably for me, it is missing the 'toe' on the inside of each of the four foot-pads.
  • RedbullgivesuwindRedbullgivesuwind Member Posts: 2,108
I didn't see that. Although I can't say that the toe, for me is a big loss. Of course it is a big part of the accuracy so I can see how it bugs.

the first one is ace, but the head is stupid. you'll see what i mean, @CapnRex101‌ next weekend. the whole thing is bigger too, than the others. i might re-engineer the head slightly, after i've moved! otherwise, i cant see a lot of difference between the later one and the new one.

There has certainly never been a 'perfect' AT-AT officially released. There are few vehicles that lend themselves so well to a UCS model, which could be built in Minifigure scale, and the fact that LEGO have not released on astonishes me. They would struggle to surpass @cavegod's version though!
