Lego bricks quality

I bricklinked my Green Grocer and colour variations on all the sand green parts is very noticable.. Not much one can do about though

I have also been noticing two possible shades of the standard green (which bricklink call green 6 ) in some bricks. Again this may just be due to a slightly different pigment in one factory or less of the pigment in the mix.
I see that Bricklink have seperated the yellow into two distinct shades.
Bright Light yellow 103 and Light yellow 33.
So I guess that must be a real distinction made by Lego at some point and they are just mixing the two colours fairly indiscriminately, as they use up their brick stores.

Those never had holes. the tubes of two-width are hollow. (that can beused for SNOT(technic-clip))

My guess would be that China required it through some kind of regulation. They tend to have a lot of policies to bolster Chinese businesses by requiring these sort of things from foreign companies.

^Probably a combination of a lot of similar factors. If there's anything I've learned from being here a mere month, it's that China likes its red tape!

Well, not had problems with cracking before but I've just noticed that one of the minifigs in my Cafe Corner, which has only ever been left on display and not played with, has developed a crack in the head and down one side of the torso. Very strange.

80's bricks had thicker walls and some bricks even had a gusset attatching the tube to the inner wall. I'm not an expert, but when I put together older 80' sets I use period accurate parts. This is one major reason I buy sealed sets because you really don't know what you might be getting.

The Sand Green in the Green Grocer set is a shade lighter than the Sand Green in the Haunted House set. I addressed this issue before in the forum. I am very specific when I put together my parts. I have period accurate parts from 70's, 80's 90's in seperate bins and I draw from them to put together my sets.

Each brick is not the same.

Here's a small sample of Red Bricks I have in my collection. Picture quality is awful, so I willgather more bricks and take better ppictures. You get the idea though.

I noticed in the new Pumpkin polybag a very distinct difference between the orange plates and bricks. Almost looks striped.

I also found a minifig with cracks that formed down the sides of the torso and the arms where the hands fit in. I thought it was odd and looked to see if the set had some of the parts made in China. Surprisingly it didn't have any. So it seems like these quality issues are more general in nature.

I just picked up 60019 and was thoroughly frustrated with the lack of grip strength the pieces had. Pieces were literally falling off.

@Pitfall69 that's interesting, I always assumed the bricks with holes in were the newer ones, with the solid ones being older. basically swap the bottom two bricks in your picture around - that's how I assumed it was.

Remember, these were random pieces I picked our from sets. I'm sure they will use a mold until the mold wears out. They may be using older molds for pieces in new sets, so you might be right as well.

I will do a more thorough inspection of the parts. It is hard with a newborn putting everyrhing in her mouth.

I bought the 75028 Clone Turbo Tank, which comes with two black 1x10 technic bricks... But look at this.

Two variants - is this normal or what's the deal here?

^ Yes it is pretty normal. I've parted out tons of sets and see that all the time.
