^ Only £23.99 at Smyths currently. Split the set, keep Batman and then resell Robin, the Joker with his hammer and the remaining set without figures and even after fees and postage you should easily break even. = Free old school batman :-)
  • MojoestMojoest UKMember Posts: 474
In terms of sets I'd like a Justice League moonbase with green lantern, Cyborg, Black Canary and another version of Martian Manhunter, (plus maybe another 1 or 2, but as we'll have probably have had plenty of whoever they are before or recently available in standard sets I'm not too fussed).
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
^i'd love a JL Watchtower, either moon base or satellite. A set i'd love that would never happen is a Gotham PD building with Jim Gordon, Renee Montoya and John Jones...I know it would never happen though,

@CCC What do you mean by the Arkham Joker? I assume you mean from the arkham asylum set rather than the arkham games, and from the mention of burgess Meredith I assume you mean penguin - if you do mean arkham asylum set Penguin I'd say it's a bit of a generic Penguin design so probably based on mixed sources, mainly the comics.

Bit worrying no mention of lego support. Does this mean mega blocks are cashing in?
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
Unless the licensing agreement with Lego has expired I'd imagine Mattel only have action figure type toy rights and not construction toys.
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
I wasnt sure where the agreement stood relating to specific films, as disney announced avengers 2 is having lego sets
  • CCCCCC UKMember Posts: 20,307
Yeah I meant penguin from the Arkham asylum set. The newer torso for him is more like Danny DeVito.
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
If TLG still have rights to the characters I think that's enough to stop anyone else, seein as they already have the rights I'd imagine well see a little something Lego based from the film. - again assuming rights don't expire.

Don't forget that every film like this gets loads of different toy companies competing for different rights...e.g Mattel having hot wheel might decide that the Batmobile is the main thing they want. But Lego could still do a Batmbile as a construction toy as it's a different type of toy. I try not to think too much about the various agreements these days it's all too complicated and I'm no lawyer!

I understand the disappointment in getting another Tumbler when 7888 was already Tumbler perfection. However I would not be surprised if this was more a Batmobile collection that included a UCS Tumbler as one of the models. I mean if you think about it for Bat's 75th anniversary, there could not be a more perfect set. Including a few different models with the Tumbler being the flagship.

I think it would be cool if it had PF and lights.

It's a nice set, loving the GL, but why so much black on the GL ship?
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
^Probably more to match his uniform than to look like a power ring construct. The GL corps frequently used spaceships in the past so it doesn't have to be a construct.
  • jediami65jediami65 United StatesMember Posts: 474
@Shib: True but just looks like they went half way... I am buying the set for the Figures will just toss the other parts in parts drawers for other uses, I seem to be doing that with a lot if sets lately.
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
^Green Lantern + Sinestro in a set means its a must buy for DC fans, the Space Batman mini fig and actual model are just bonuses! :-P

It does give me hope that we might get to see some more non Batman specific villains too. I'd love a Reverse Flash (lets face it they already have a mould for the Flash's cowl to reuse) and Gorilla Grodd to go with Flash, and Green Arrow with either a Deathstroke or Deadshot. I'm not going to expect too many per wave, but it would be nice to think based on the latest patterns that there will be at least one set with a non Batman/Bat Family hero in each wave of sets.

Will be curious to see if we also get a set without batman, like the Superman/Wonder Woman set, would be interesting if they did New 52 style Superman and Wonder Woman vs some other random villain in the same wave as this Green Lantern set.

They can "promise" all they want. LEGO is in the business of making money and if those figures would sell enough in a set to justify re-releasing them I believe they would.

To a certain extent, I agree. However, conversely, the fact that they HAVEN'T broken such a promise suggests that they benefit more from the minifigures as exclusives than they would benefit from them as regular-issue sets.

It makes sense. Why re-release a minifigure that already exists, albeit in small quantities when for the same cost they could just introduce a brand-new minifigure with just as much appeal? If it DOES turn out that for some reason kids desperately want characters like Shazam, Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, or Spider-Woman, there's nothing stopping the LEGO Group from introducing new, different versions of those characters.

Some people say it wouldn't be the same, that the versions of the characters that got released at Comic-Con are the quintessential versions. As far as costumes alone are concerned, maybe they're right. But just look at how many different Star Wars minifigure variants there have been that are ostensibly meant to depict the same exact costume. People can bicker all they want about which Stormtrooper or Luke Skywalker variants are the best, but the simple truth is that translating a character into a minifigure is not an exact science and there are numerous ways to depict any given character or costume.

As 76023 is the tumbler, 76025 is green lantern vs sinestro could 76024 be a dc set as well based on the video game.

Since the new 5-digit numbering, they seem to be going in order from cheapest to most expensive within a wave. So my guess is 76024 will be a $12.99, two minifig DC set. The source material could be anything though, so who knows.

Or possibly just a gap. They do that, I'm sure just to annoy us.

When I search for Lego 76024, I get the Spider-Trike, which doesn't make sense since the numbers are usually for sets. Doesn't each set have a unique number?

Sorry im not up to speed in the finer points of my minifig collection. .I just like all the superhero line in general
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
Yes Deadpool is Marvel and I assume ŷou are referring to the supposedly leaked test footage of a supposed future Deadpool film. There's been no official word on if this is real as far as I know but there's been talks about it since Xmen Origins Wolverine, which had Ryan Reynolds as a weird version of Deadpool.
  • graphitegraphite USMember Posts: 3,271
@legofanfromleeds The next X-men Origins type movie was supposed to be Deadpool. IMDB doesn't seem to have much on it but the notes say there was a 3 minute preview shot for it used to try to convince execs to go forward with the movie.
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
Despite his cult following hes a hard sell, often there is no plot or logic. Funny guy though

The Lego Batman hears all, sees all, and appears in all. This is the law of the Lego Batman. ;)

Bit surpised no braniac, instead we get darkseid! So not to disappointed :)

I cannot remember where it came from, but this picture is in my browser cache ...

Presumably Gorilla Grodd will be a maxifig.
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
Comic con, The artist did say he had no knowledge of future minifigs, i imagine he will appear the same as in game
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
    Big fig!
  • dannyrwwdannyrww WisconsinMember Posts: 1,395
Remember though that Groot was brick built even though he was a big fig for the game....so Grodd might be partially brick built, though I would love a big fig.
  • graphitegraphite USMember Posts: 3,271
^ Grodd fits the big fig mold better than Groot does though for actual LEGO. He may have been done as a big fig for the game because it was easier to create a new big fig skin in game than creating a new character framework for a different character shape.
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
Grodd..woohoo!!! Just read the list one the front page...hopes are high!

They have shown how Grodd will appear in the game and it's definitely bigfig not brick build, seeing as all these sets are seemingly tying in with the game I think bigfig is a very safe bet.

Hulk_Smash at EB has apparently seen the retailer catalog. These are some descriptions:

#76026 Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas has Grodd as a bigfig, a car, Wonder Woman with an Invisible Jet made of clear peices, Batman with a mech suit, and The Flash.

#76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike has a Black Manta sub, a Bat-Sub, Aquaman, and Robin.

#76028 Darkseid Invasion has Darkseid as a bigfig, a Javelin spaceship, a Brainiac drone, Hawkman (or someone else with wings), and Superman (which could be a placeholder for Supergirl).

Note that there are typically placeholder figures in the retailer catalog, so some of the figure descriptions may be inaccurate.
  • ShibShib UKMember Posts: 5,478
Holy crap, if they actually out out a hawkman minifigure with a set I might break my no RRP purchases and buy day one. If that same set has Supergirl rather than Superman no hesitation! I can't wait to see more images of these sets!
