Have you seen Ymarilego's set? It was put up on Jan 22, and gained 10,000 in less than a month! That's got to be some sort of record, lol. I can barely get 100 supporters in a month, much less a couple thousand!

Not mine but I saw this and couldn't help but get excited at the possibility of Contruct-a-Zurg II!

Do you understand the reasons why? If you can study the submission and understand what makes that something people might get behind, it might help you when it comes to submitting a future idea.

Yep I definitely know why it gained support so quickly, it was the same with the Minecraft project I think. Also the heavy traffic may have damaged the site since everyone's accounts went haywire after that! Lol, I don't think I'll be submitting any more Ideas for a while, if at all. Got other things to focus on, regrettably

Yep, maybe it's the easier way to gain 10k supporters, but... check out this post on the LEGO Ideas blog. They are looking for unique ideas, which aren't based on an existing IP. But on the other side, if you post an original idea, it's very hard to reach the magic 10.000 votes. (I have an original idea and I managed to get about 1570 votes in more than a year - but my project has been posted on the biggest LEGO blogs, including Brickset...)

@KovJonas Being mentioned in blogs does help too, I'm sure. And if you can get Staff Pick or on the Trending this Week page. Original ideas are harder to sell, but that's just the thrill of the challenge!

that looks huge. I guess the final product would either have less rooms or smaller ones.

Indeed! If I tried submitting something that big, the moderators would eyeball it, say it has too many pieces, and then reject it three times!

Lego Ideas is an opportunity for fans of Lego to post their ideas and, by gathering 10,000 supporters, have their idea turned into a real Lego set. This would be a dream come true for me! If you think that a skatepark would make a great Lego set, then please support my project. You just need to click on the link below and then click "support" on that page. If you don't already have a Lego account, the page will prompt you to make one which is quick and easy, just requiring an email address. I hope you'll consider supporting my project :) Thank you!

Hey guys! Please go to the link below and support my Disney Monorail. LEGO Ideas is a site where people post new ideas for LEGO sets. If they get enough supporters it might become a real LEGO set. Link is below!

No need to post in multiple topics and spam the forum.

All LEGO ideas should be submitted there:

I doubt he is over 16. btw, I think most people around here have a good idea of how lego Ideas works.

I saw this project on the side https://ideas.lego.com/projects/153895
looks an awful lot like haunted house, did lego replicated the house on the pictures?

This is so the best monorail Lego will have seen in more than 20 years! So voted buddy. Good luck...I reckon if Ye chuck some NASA ladies in it, yer sure to get a set mate.

^ Actually - it's really, totally, like, NOT buddy mate.  There have been a couple of considerably better Monorail projects that failed to generate the required votes.  To the OP - instead of just joining to shill your project, have a read of a few of the dedicated threads for LEGO IDEAS and Monorail.  If you're STILL enamoured with the idea of an Epcott Monorail (which you probably won't be because the chances of a new Monorail are about the same as a snowballs in hell) have a good look at the reference material out there and refine your project so it matches more closely what you're trying to model.  Good luck with V2 if you decide to go down this path.
Wondering how long before ANOTHER brand new member pops up because they simply HAD to join to comment on this awesome project...

^Thanks magninominisukbra. So sad to be just 'another brand new member', sayin 'good on ya mate for having a go'. Anyway, since you are an expert on monorails and the history of monorails, what do ya reckon it needs? I reckon it's a little ripper!

My Glacier Falls Lodge has reached 1000 supporters!!! I don't have much hope for it but I still think 1000 is great since a lot of projects only get a few dozen votes at most! :)

I just submitted a project to Ideas based on the show 'Parks and Recreation' and it was rejected for not being "appropriate" which I can sort of understand. But what I can't understand is that they made a set for The Big Bang Theory? And a project for The Office just hit 10k?

Anyone else see something wrong with this?

^No. Chris Pratt doesn't need another minifigure made in his likeness.

My Lego Ideas project is Grand Central Terminal. I think it would be a great addition to the landmark buildings of the Creator series such as Big Ben and the Sydney Opera House.  What makes mine stand out is that I've modeled the interior as well.  Please check it out, and support if you like:

There's some great projects in here since I last stopped by. That's really idiotic with the Parks and Recs project. I've noticed they are really inconsistent with what they will accept and what they won't. I personally think they shouldn't have touched Big Bang Theory at all. I haven't watched enough Parks and Rec to know, but Big Bang Theory DEFINITELY has some episodes that are NOT appropriate for Lego's target audience.

i just submitted a project based of Split Rock lighthouse, check it out and support please!

    https://ideas.lego.com/projects/173618

I think it has loads of potential. I'm hoping to get some momentum early on and keep that going. Currently the lowest projects under "popular this week" are only at around 167 supporters in the past week. I'm hoping if I can hit that it'll gain some traction.

    Hello everyone.

I am here to present one of my creations: The central perk coffee of the serie "Friends"

    32998297046_f580124615_bjpg

Being fan of this series for several years, I found interesting the idea of creating this set knowing that no proposal of the central perk has been proposed to date. Friends being a cult and timeless series has attracted millions of fans, as well as BigBang Theory, Ghostbuster and Back to the Future, this set would complement a long series of Lego on movies and TV series.

Phoebe behind her microphone and singing her famous song "SMELLY CAT"

Gunther the manager of the central perk. He always fantasizes about getting married with Rachel

    29955574384_f2318d4090_bjpg

For this, I propose my project on the official website lego ideas. Currently I have more than 3150 supporters and hope to reach the next 10000 to have a chance that my idea is selected.
If you find the idea great, do not hesitate to support this creation and also left me a comment to know what you think :) Thanks to all

    Yea sure you are. Bet?

    Anyways...

If this set got chosen...You reckon Lego would create a new hairpiece for the "Rachel". I was a big fan of Chandler's brand of humor and had a big crush on Jennifer Aniston at 14. Thursdays use to be so awesome when Friends & Seinfeld made NBC freaking dominant.

....Yea. The crickets know what im talking bout !

^ I was a big fan of Jennifer Aniston since she was in Leprechaun. Not so much lately. Every part she plays is the same character now.

I think Joey should come with the Joey Special...two pizzas. Also a Turkey to go on Monica's head would be funny.

Not a fan of the series, but this looks great. I mean, if they did it for The Big Bang Theory, I don't see why not for Friends.

This looks amazing! The presentation is great, especially the minifigures.

Although I don't quite get why projects on this show are approved and my Parks and Rec one wasn't..

I've noticed an extremely weird trend with my projects! They'll limp along for at least a week or so with no supporters daily or one supporter daily, and then all of a sudden (this tends to happen on a Tuesday night) they'll be a rush of 50 supporters or so in a 12 hour period, and then it will die down again. Does anyone know why this might happen? Is it because new people join the site in waves? Or maybe someone shares my project and their friends support it? It's a mystery to me!
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,535
Isn't Tuesday the day the weekly round up email goes out to users? That might explain the burst of activity.
  • Glacierfalls265Glacierfalls265 Member Posts: 261
That could be it, I just don't know! It's really random but sometimes frustrating when the progress is so slow. I wish I could think of better promotion ways, but so far all I've done is advertise on a few websites...I should probably rethink my strategy...
