Put in some technic pins and this could be the modular other side of the Big Bang set.

    The technique is great...but...

No Zuul in refrigerator? Isn't that the most memorable event that happened inside Dana's apartment? Have you given any thought to referencing that scene, bro?
  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
If Lego wants any Ghostbusters sets to be made they'll do it themselves. Any Ideas sets for the theme are fruitless attempts IMO no matter the quality.
  • Bobbrick999Bobbrick999 Member Posts: 12
Hi @Legopassion8 yes all the parts for gozers temple are in the fridge,I just forgot to include the shot of it. It's a 2x1 triangle on 2 1x2 with an upright 1x1 round transparent pice, basically a step with the pyramid.
  • sklambsklamb Member Posts: 516
I have to agree that a Ghostbusters set won't make it through Ideas any more, but that apartment is delightful--IMO much more fun than the Big Bang Theory set--so I supported it anyway. You must have had a great time designing it!

I would like your thoughts and and hopefully get your support on my Lego Ideas set.
It's called Pirates of the Caribbean the Ride. It's a set much like Big Bang Theory set but depicting Disneyland ride Pirates of the Caribbean with playability.  Would appreciate your thoughts.

Your support and thought would be appreciated.
My Lego Ideas project is called    Pirates of the Caribbean the Ride
More pic on the Lego Ideas website.    If you are fan of this Disneyland ride please support this project to make this a real set. Thanks.

    Oh Come on....

I know you Lego designers lurk around here. Make the damn Lego Disneyland/Disney World line already....

    J/P sorta....not really

@BrickHunter Can you give us a break on you spamming what seems like every single thread with this?

We get it. You want forum members to vote for you. We got it the first time.
  • xwingpilotxwingpilot Member Posts: 799
I have to agree with @flord. You only joined yesterday and you've already created two threads and posted comments in several other threads promoting your ideas project.

I appreciate you're new, but it wouldn't have taken much reading of the forum to work out that a better approach might have been to introduce yourself properly and then tell us about your ideas project on the thread we already have for that purpose:
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
There is a dedicated Lego ideas thread, and the mods prefer it if you post there instead of starting a new thread!
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,638
Also, spending even a little bit of time becoming part of the community here would go along way to building goodwill toward your project. Probably too late for that now though.
  • Legopassion8Legopassion8 Member Posts: 1,181

We need more pictures and the people want more than a gate. Your heart is in the right place but your product needs more work and a damn good graphic arts design program....

Sorry about that guys. I am new to forums and don't know the proper etiquette.
  • BrickHunterBrickHunter Member Posts: 18
I put multiple post because, I wasn't getting much replies so I thought I was doing something wrong. I'm a newbie to forums. anyways. maybe forum isn't the right source for me asking for support. I would delete the posts if I knew how.. ;(

Sorry guys, I'm new to forum and don't know the proper etiquette.  Maybe forum isn't my thing.. LOL. sorry once again. I didn't realize starting new thread was such a bad thing when there is an existing one. anyways. I would delete the thread I started if I knew how.

@BrickHunter, it's cool to promote your Ideas here, in fact there's a thread specially for it so I've merged yours with it.

    Good luck with your project!

Not a bad idea! You might want to note that "corses" is spelt "courses" though. ;-)
Other than that, I love the modular idea of it. Lego City needs more leisure activities and fewer police and fire stations, amirite?
  • Bobbrick999Bobbrick999 Member Posts: 12
Yes I realize that now,I should not rely on spell check so much, thanks for pointing it out though :)

This is an awesome idea! If that set got made I would have a lot of fun rearranging it and modding it for crazy golf, too!

I just built @Adzbadboy's Clockwork Robot on Mecabricks (with his permission):

I designed an Architecture model of the MI6 Building in London (Its that great looking building they use in James Bond movies), its an iconic building but its been rejected by Lego Ideas. I did make a mistake and link it into James Bond (thinking that may help with gathering support) but when I removed all references it was rejected again. I am at a bit of a loss as to how I'm breaking the house rules. Am I missing something - is this an infamous building? Didn't think I could go wrong with a real world building.

I even managed to add a light up feature..... Oh well.

Is there a list anywhere of forbidden Lego Ideas subjects. This is the second failure (although Futurama was never going to make it - what was I thinking).
  • catwranglercatwrangler Member Posts: 1,894
Couldn't say what went wrong with your pitch, @eiffleman, but the model looks terrific - and that's coming from someone who isn't usually attracted to the Architecture line!
  • eifflemaneiffleman Member Posts: 9
Thanks, glad you like it. My pitch was the usual background history, I even called it by an alternate name.....

This iconic London building is known as the SIS Building, Vauxhall Cross on the banks of the Thames.

A competition to develop the site was won by architect Terry Farrell, with an urban village as Farrell's original proposal. A scheme of office blocks was subsequently developed for the site, with a government agency as their occupier. Farrell's design for the SIS building was influenced by 1930s industrial modernist architecture such as Bankside, Battersea Power Station and Mayan and Aztec temples. The building was completed in 1994 and, when viewed from the river, it is an imposing fortress, from other aspects it appears more to be a more traditional office block

The building was described as an 'epitaph for the 'architecture of the eighties'

    .........and the response was...

We reviewed your project submission and unfortunately it does not fit the LEGO® Ideas mold; it contains content or themes not appropriate for a potential LEGO product.

Per our Guidelines and House Rules, we won’t approve projects related to these topics:

Death, killing, blood, terrorism, or torture
Warfare or war vehicles in any modern or present-day situation, or national war memorial

..... I'm realistic and know it would take a miracle for an Architecture project to make 10K, but you never know your luck.

no mayan or aztec sacrifices allowed.
  • MattsWhatMattsWhat Member Posts: 1,643
@eiffleman not sure about the confusion, it was rejected because it is the MI6 building and therefore has links to modern warfare etc. I guessed that straight away but they said that in their response too.
Getting an architecture to 10k would be tough, but even then I would be very surprised if one passed review. What with it already being a theme and that.
Its really good though, fantastic detail at the scale it is.
  • eifflemaneiffleman Member Posts: 9
Guess I was looking at it as an interesting building. It was not designed for its current users. Perhaps if they ever move out and an insurance company takes it over I can post it again :)

I suppose some of my disappointment is because it did come out OK. Not all attempts at making small scale architecture work out.

    Glad you liked it. Regards

Yet they did the White House.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679

Would they out-of-hand reject a Pentagon?  Or the FBI Building?
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
^ I would suspect the answer is yes... It is a pity, I would have definitely voted for that building, still remember it in The World Is Not Enough, which is saying something, I'm not a big fan of modern architecture normally. Can the set be built from existing parts? *crossing fingers*
  • eifflemaneiffleman Member Posts: 9
Unfortunately the project did need Lego's special ability of being able to change the colour of the plastic. I've tried making it using the standard set of pieces in LDD and some of the shapes don't appear in any colour!? But they must exist in some form musn't they. I'll do a little research and what could be built.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
Ahhh... I see one of the parts is new to LDD, the 2×2 wing/plate, I believe you may find some in the new Nexo Knights, SW or SH sets, but TLG only made them available in extended mode, so you'd need to check Rebrickable/BrickLink/Brickset for available colours, so tan would be doubtful...

Is the piece that has been out for ages that is 4x2 with cutaway both ends available in the right colour? Can't check on my phone easily. You could build it half inside.
Anyway, fairly confident the new nexo shield doesn't come in the right colour yet anyway.
Why would they not build the Whitehouse? As far as I was concerned that would be more like the houses of Parliament (decisions made) than the MI6 building (strategic and information and home to commanders etc. Like the pentagon). I think they would reject the pentagon. Not to mention making a pentagon on a baseplate would be.. Erm.. Fun?

    or Spectre.
I begin to think the true problem was the lack of explosion features. the playability is not enough. and a catapult to launch the boat.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
@Fauch, have yet to see Spectre, can't really get into the Daniel Craig Bond films. I'm not a fan of reboots that aren't reboots that are reboots, which is probably why I still haven't seen Episode VII...

    Hey everyone!

I sure don't post much (kind of an introvert), but I really wanted to try to get the word out on my first LEGO Ideas submission, so I'm posting it here!

Check out my submission for a UFO Close Encounter over at LEGO Ideas:

You're not allowed to submit ideas for new themes, but I have to say, how rad would it be to have a new theme about strange occurrences like UFOs, Bigfoot, Monsters, etc!?

Here're some pictures too. If you think it's a neat set, please spread the word and head over to LEGO Ideas and offer your support!

Now, @commandervideo, that is a cool original set.  I love the alien hiding behind the tree.  The only thing I can think though is that it needs a little something extra.  Maybe some mods to the alien ship or something else going on on the ground.

How about a trans blue beam of light, like this:

I love it, but at the moment I don't think it would reach 10k votes.  Good luck with it though.

  • catwranglercatwrangler Member Posts: 1,894
I like the light beam suggestion. I'm really impressed it holds up as it is - that mast piece(?) must be really strong, and the balance good!
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,819
Great looking set, have posted my support.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
it may need mulder and scully for a better chance at getting 10000 votes
  • commandervideocommandervideo Member Posts: 6
I thought about adding a beam as well, and in fact, had trans-blue cylinders (part 6259) mocked up at one point, but I felt that they made the story a little too specific and took away the mystery. Also, it took up a lot of real estate on the ground.

But now that you mention it, I have an idea of how to maybe make this work--and how to push it over the top too! I might do an update.

    Hey everyone!

Here is a lego technic engine that I have built!
The main goal was to design a small engine with as many moving parts as possible. It's an 8 cylinder with moving valves. The latter are mainly for visuals and don't really have any other purpose.
To keep the model compact I had to ditch the idea of putting in cam shafts. So I figured out a way to make the valves move by using the rotation of the crank shaft. This however forced me to align the cylinders horizontally. It's not how a real engine works, but I figured, since this is a small lego model, it's best to keep it simple. It's a reliable and functional mechanism . It also makes a satisfying sound :)
It features a large power functions motor that is already built in, which was one of the main challenges as well.

Due to its size, this model fits perfectly on a desk as a display model. It could also be installed in large MOC cars, as it has a lot of mounting points.

If you like this project, you can support it on Lego Ideas:

I hope you enjoy this one! :)
