You get to know someone that little bit better when they come out with that ol' classic.

Honestly, I was just making @Steve_J_OM‌ feel better.

With everyone hoarding elves, no wonder there is a dwarf shortage :)

I have avoided this strand of discussions so far, but can't resist asking, so how do you know? !

Seriously, I will get Santa's Workshop (House), pprobably get the Carnival and probably won't get the Mini Cooper.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
    What's wrong with the mini?
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
I am not fond of the Mini Cooper, especially if it is going to be the classic version. I'm also not fond of the Volkswagen Bug or the "Bus". Porche 911? Now you are talking.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
I'd like to think I could put that down to a typo, but I'm not sure. ;-)
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
Porsche? Yes, it was a typo. I didn't feel like correcting it. I was talking to someone via the message ;)
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
    What a pain.

Sometimes, other conversations take precedence over correcting my spelling. Grammar and spelling mistakes should be expected...I'm Pitfall ;)

I'm used to Porsches (hey, the HQ is in my town & a lot of people living here have a lot of money) and I do love them. Especially the old ones, don't like the newer models. (The Porsche museum is worth a visit btw, imho better than the Mercedes Benz one.) But a Porsche in Lego? I don't know. Can't really imagine that.

From the three sets I like the carnival ride the most, although that type of ride isn't that common in Germany (Wiki says so). So carnival is #1, Mini-Cooper (one of my favourite cars) is #2 and the Christmas Set #3.

I'm going to buy them all without a single doubt. (I hope for a Mini Cooper polybag too, love my VW bus one).
  • legomattlegomatt Member Posts: 2,543
I've no interest in the mini (i'm not into vehicles), but am looking forward to seeing what the carnival and santa's workshop turns out to be, even though they'll likely be beyond my budget, due to other items on my save-for list.

Maybe it is the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro :-) Every Modular Lego City needs one ;)

I wouldn't mind seeing an original (1960's) Mini model. I like the modern mini but they are a too ubiquitous nowadays.

The rumor suggests it's a Mark VII, which was produced from 1996 to 2000.

I don't mind the new Mini's, but I think the 1960's Mini is mostly a European thing.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
I think all the minis are very European looking, the new ones look much sportier though. I wouldn't mind getting any of them as a Lego model, I assume it will look nice. I will probably grab all three, can't think of why I wouldn't, unless one is just awful looking. Interested in the Carnival first, Santa shop 2nd, and mini 3rd.

I love how the discussion continues to metastasize along it's own uncharted course.

Have we received any new info, links or other pieces of confirmation that these are on the horizon?

    a) Agree, that's Brickset for you!

    b) No.

Used to have a new style Mini so would love to get the new one if it looks realistic enough. Maybe the Carnival as well...hell, I'll take whatever's going if its not SW or Ninjago or Heroes

^ a) Not just brickset, any forum :-P

I'm really interested in any news on the next winter village set, I've decided I really want to start collecting winter village sets (The OH loves xmas decorating, me not so much so this will give me a reason to get involved!) so any rumours that come up just help whet the appetite!

I'm guessing the '66 Batmobile is to compete with the many diecast models, namely Hot Wheels's.

I like the classic mini myself, but not the newer one. I'd rather have one of the '60s or '70s Minis instead.

There may be a new 1966 Batmobile set thanks to this teaser image posted on Lego's Facebook and twitter earlier today, this is to mark the 75th anniversary, there is also a black tumbler in the background. image

What are all of the vehicles in that image? Where's the bike in the foreground from?

^ Does set number correlate to piece count in any way?
