Isn't any tree made with LEGO a wealth tree? Wink wink.

@arathemis nice parts usage on roof and the carrot/club as a tree topper.  Great looking MOCs

did you see the musket used as a branch? or the brown stud shooter with its handle being a small branch :), Unfortunately, pictures never do justice to what is being done in a MOC, weather it`s mine or any other builder.

@evancelt, I have greatly enjoyed your builds throughout the year and look forward to any more to come as we step into 2023!

I might need to take some lessons from you on tree design as I have a few projects I'd like to move forward on but have zero idea on where to start.

It's a few days late, but here is my 2022 MOC compilation. I had a lot of fun with these, and I am looking forward to all the cool projects that 2023 will bring!

Trees are really tricky.  I've been trying not to copy anybody's and come up with newish designs on my mocs (to follow their tradition that no two trees can be the same), and they're so bad.

Evancelt's trees tend to be bigger than the typical ones found in City, and since he often has repeating settings due to his historical themes, he's reusing the same (good) designs more often as well.  Once you settle on a good pine tree design, you're good with anything covering the whole western half of the US!

Thanks for the lesson on trees, Evancelt! For the scene where the horses are walking through the snow/forest, how have you attached the large/small limb elements to the trunk? And/or, what is the trunk made from?

Great question - I'm not sure but others who are more familiar with the forum may know!

Which build in particular are you wondering about? Your mention of snow has me stumped!

    This one?

In this one the bright light orange leaf elements are attached to technic pins via white bars. The trunks are made from dinosaur tails (curved white pieces, part 40378pb01) and also white technic fins (part 87745) that I think originated as whale vertebrae in some underwater set.

    This one?

In this one the leaf elements are attached to 1x2 bar plates that connect to clips on the SNOT tree trunk

The second one is the one which I was referring to. Zooming in on the full picture, I can see the attachment method much more clearly. Thank you!

I don't know why, but a lot of times when I see a bridge and waterfall behind it, my mind instantly goes to Radiator Springs. (Well, Firewall Falls to be more specific.)

I always think of Multnomah Falls in Oregon.

Man, that picture just brought back a bunch of memories I had forgotten about. Multnomah Falls was always a stopping point on summer road trips to the coast.

    "Redwall: A Visitor To Loamhedge"

After receiving the distressed badger and hearing his tale, Abbot Gersey sends warrior mice out to aid in his search for his daughter. Weasels had been spotted near Loamhedge a fortnight earlier and the abbot has his suspicions they were behind the badgermaid's disappearance.

    --------------

This build started as a chance to play around with light lime alongside yellowish green and lime in the base. Planning to display it at some upcoming CoWLUG shows alongside some Mouse Guard builds from other LUG members.

They are from a company called Crazy Bricks. There was a kickstarter this past year to have them made, and they are currently (for a short time!) for sale on the company's website.

Oh man, I'd love LEGO to do some Mouse Guard. And those figs look fantastic, the cost + shipping is too much for my taste, though, even if they're the first customs I actually find interesting.
Anyway, lovely build (as always in this thread, I must say).

Yeah they are the best mouseheads I've seen! If they are your thing (or you think they might be fun), you should grab some of the heads from their website. They are much cheaper than the full figs and will likely sell out in the next week or so.
