@vitreolum- what set are those brown flower stems from?
According to Bricklink, they are only found in 10123 Cloud City.

@vitreolum Always love your mocs, such imaginative use of parts.

I guess I'll never own any then.  :'(
Yep, that's where they're from... need to get my hands on a few more but the prices are fun.

@vitreolum - How long do you keep your MOCs together after you build them? Do you just take pics and then dismantle them?

Also, do you have some kind of art background? I always look forward to checking this thread and seeing more of your creations.
I can't really keep them built too long, I don't have enough parts to do that. I only keep some small things I really like, otherwise I keep them until I need the parts for something else.

    Nope, no art background.

Cool! Have you ever made a little Batmobile?
No I have only modified the batmobile in set #6864 to look more like Keatons of the 1989 classic Batman.  On day I may try to build one six studs wide instead of this 8 stud wide version.   I really like what they did with the 8 stud wide tumbler in set #76001.  I also built one of those in black..

I hopped on BrickLink and some old Coca Cola promos from the sports line caught my eye so I got some parts and stickers from them and made this Coca Cola space transport ship for my space layout. It's got a storage area to fit a bottle case ( #4464 with some slight modifications) and it has a little room with a computer and mini fridge with a can and bottle of Coke. There is a rotatable jet engine on either side to get through the galaxy at high speeds. All of the stickers on this are 100% genuine from the 2002 promos and other sets. I'm not really a fan of using fake stuff, ha ha.

I was thinking about the @LordofLego part usage contests and I saw the pile of mugs in different colors that my daughter has sorted. So I wanted to try my hand at doing something that is non-beverage related and I made this micro shuttle-ship.

PS: My kids each have a life-sized mug (1 red, 1 blue) that they love.

I saw mugs like that in Downtown Disney last week... Shoulda bought one. Do you mind if I use mugs for next week's challenge?

@LordofLego Of course not. I'd be interested in seeing what people do with them. :)

Let me try that again.  This is a kitchen I built based on the on from the Friends Olivia's House set before we moved out of the US. Recently found it while unpacking LEGO boxes. Now I just need to put some people in there cooking...

Can someone please delete the earlier post?

Do you just grab a bunch of random pieces and see what you can build out of them or did you see this in your head first and look for the necessary pieces?

The illegal use of the swords is just wild.

May I ask how long you've been creating MOCs? :)

Well for this one I've sort of started with the goggles as I wanted to use them for the eyes... the rest followed. Suffice to say I've spent more time on finding a way to make those bloody teeth than the rest of the build.

I've started mocing somewhere last year.

Well you've done a lot of incredible stuff in a  fairly short period of time.

I wanted to try my hand at some Anthropomorphic Lego...Maybe to put up on ideas. It's think it lacks a bit of focus, but I like it.

@eiffleman - where did you get those tiles printed? This is something I'd like to build so any guidance on the tiles or the build itself would be greatly appreciated.
  • eifflemaneiffleman Member Posts: 9
@Bosstone100. The MOC was a proposed set I made for a lego ideas project. I hadn't done my homework and didn't realise that Star Trek was not allowed. The MOC was built in LDD, rendered in Pov-Ray and the 'decals' hand applied in paintshop pro. Adding each òne individually and distorting the decal so it looks like its printed on the face of the brick.

The plan was to present this as a project and suggest printed parts rather than stickers. I had high hopes for the project.

sorry if I'd mislead you or anyone else. With the backing of the lego group, I think it could have been a great set.

@eiffleman - Are you willing to share those files? I'd like to give it a shot anyway. It's great work and you are right, it'd look great on my desk at work.

    But it's cool either way.

@Zegna Very nice job!  Wish Lego had done this Candy Shop for this year instead of the repeat Toy Shop.  Also, what village is complete without Scratchy?

This is not really a MOC since the ducks are from the #76010 and #76035 has a version of this.   It worked out as a kiddie ride next to the Ferris Wheel.

I've uploaded the file to the 'create and share' site. Good luck with the build if you decide to go ahead.

    ^^^^^That is downright awesome!!!!
  • So I was looking at the Ultra Agents semi trailer the other day and thinking sure, it's very nice, but I've still got the Agents one on display and when all's said and done, it's just another truck.  And around the same time, marathonning through a dvd set of Burst Angel, which has a frickin' sweet futuristic truck.  I think you can see where this is going:

Several sets gave their lives for this: #70165 (the Mission HQ truck), #70169 (Stealth Patrol, the off-roader) and #70162 (Infearno Interception, the roadster) from UA, as well as #76016 (Spidey's helicopter) for the 'nose', plus it was a good excuse to get the silly thing off display, and the front canopy from #76021 (the Milano, which fortunately looks just fine with the Spideycopter's smoky grey windscreen, since the Milano is one I do want to keep on display).

The body still opens up like the trailer used to (although it doesn't have the side swinging down, just the top opening) since I like the whole interior detail thing, and on that note I went all extravagant and included work areas and living quarters for the four-minifig crew I threw together; there's also Sasha's bike 'Hanzo' (stripped down and rebuilt from the one in #71064 Hurricane Heist) stowed in a bay under the rear floor, which it can drive into from behind the truck, and Bella's sky gunner aircraft built into the roof.  Yes I named them all while I was working, shush.  (The commander/driver is Ky, and the tech lady is Cray.)

More show-off photos (cuz it's not often I build something this big):

^ That's pretty awesome. Actually a good reason to pick up an entire theme.

Have plans to build something out of those 24 different Atlantis sets I have but from what I remember, they were mostly small vehicles.
