Whoah! I saw the pitchfork in the ceiling straight away, but wondered how it could be considered a pitchfork build for aaaaaages... till I noticed the window!! It took me a long time to spot it! And then as I'm typing this I see the shelf on the left!! The most amazing thing about your builds is how naturally everything fits and works together, Awesome job!

@vitreolum you are a machine! Best of luck in both Iron Builder and Mocathlon - very few would dare take on both at once.

Working on a "micro" modular version of Stormwind City right now.  Basically only have the front gate done and well over five thousand pieces.  There are some modifications I can do to eliminate some, but then others have to be replaced with smaller pieces because Lego doesn't produce them in certain colors (all the 1x4 masonry bricks need to be replaced with 1x2 because there are no gray 1x4s in production).

@Vindic8ed You have a lot of patience, building this in LDD. ^_^ Or maybe I should just learn how to use it properly. The piece count kind of scares me though. One of my Lego "dream" is to build a minifigure scale "realist" castle and surroundings. Right now it seems like my entire collection would not allow me to build much. Anyway, that's a very good start! Keep going! :)

I don't have access to my entire collection right now, plus you have unlimited pieces with LDD anyway.

I know and in theory it would be awesome. I've seen lots of awesome MOC made in LDD. I just don't like the software. But like I said, maybe it's just that I don't know how to use it properly. Or maybe it's that I need to hold the pieces in my hands to enjoy building. ;)

^Surprising for someone who actively builds on LDD, I also find it frustrating to build in LDD but that is the only option I have. It's such a great tool to see a model in several different colours as well as making quick sketch models when you don't have access to your collection. If your like me who doesn't have a huge collection or a huge budget you can plan it and order the pieces you need instead of ordering tons of sets for parts or unnecessary Bricklink orders. LEGO Digital Designer is a great tool for planning MOC's, but don't get hang up on it, order the pieces and build it as well. Recently I built my Mini Milano and I must say it looks ten times better than my rendered picture.

Dang. Is that real or rendered? If it's rendered, it's really realistic, but if it's real, the bricks are really really clean - especially the white 'city' bit - and the lighting's really well done. Either way, brilliant presentation and excellent model.
  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
@plasmodium I would say real. I've never seen @vitreolum post a digital model and the parts look real to me.

^That's what I thought. It was sort of semi-rhetorical. ;-) A way of emphasising what I was saying about the lighting and cleanliness, if you see what I mean. :-)

It's real, I've played around with the lighting and used it from side-above instead of sides as I usually do, that made the base look really neat.

@Bumblepants Excellent modular. Wondering if you photographed it with any of the other modulars?

^I think I should never visit Brickset again after that. It's never going to get better! Words cannot begin to express how much I love it!

We should have a betting pool on how soon and how many of the LEGO blogs feature "Every Coyote Has His Day". My guess is very soon and a lot!

Here is pair of smaller Modulars I have done somewhat recently. A Maersk Shipping office with a micro-model of a Maersk ship on a table inside, and a modularization of one of the Diagon Alley buildings.

This one will make the purists cry. A couple of days ago I got my parts from the Munchkin Bricks Kickstarter campaign run by Crazy Bricks. The following day I was given a General Grievous' Wheel Bike set...it seemed too obvious not to do it...

@vitreolum - they did some really random colours of them, probably the strangest were the glittery trans pink parts (which I did receive one of in my random bonus parts from the backer level I chose) some of the odd looking choices were the result of backers at a certain $ level getting to add a colour of their choice and others were the result of votes from unlocking stretch goals.
The trans green Rat on a Stick in the picture was one of two in that colour I received which were done as a Kickstarter bonus, the other being a duck of doom. As soon as I saw them I thought they would be perfect for a Green Lantern minifigure!

This creation is from the popular video game series Halo. The battle is from one of the books and if you're familiar with the series it takes place before the battle of Reach.

I am working on a display model of a French town square. Here is my first building for it. Its loosely based on the Cafe from the TV series 'Allo 'Allo. As this is my first MOC, I wanted to share this to see what people think and if you have any tips improvements.
