The Brickset Builders Guild - share your MOCs here!
Although Brickset is primarily a website concerning collecting, there are plenty of talented builders on the Brickset forum, who often post MOCs on the 'what are you building right now' thread. Therefore, after consulting with Huw, he and the other moderators have kindly allowed me to set up a new thread solely for presenting your MOCs.
So without further ado, I would like to introduce 'The Brickset Builders Guild.'
There are no limitations on what you can post, including models of any theme or size, in real bricks or in LDD. As long as it is all your own creation, just about anything goes!
As well as simply demonstrating your building skills, a weekly contest will also be held. There are a few details I should give about how I envisage these contests running, although there is every chance that this will change with time as we discover what works and what does not. Anyway, this is how (at least) the first contest will work:
The contest each week will run from one Wednesday to the next, starting and ending at 00:00 GMT.
Naturally, if you miss the deadline for one week, your MOC will be entered for the next week.
All of the MOCs posted each week will be eligible for judging.
In each week, the models will be judged by two judges.
Each of these judges will be nominated by the judges of the previous week.
The judging will not be based on size or theme, only skills and building techniques demonstrated will be taken into account.
There is no prize for this weekly contest beyond the acknowledgement and glory of being Brickset's builder of the week! However, there may be larger contests held which will have prizes every so often.
The judges for this week will be posted later.
I look forward to seeing plenty of outstanding MOCs!

Now I just need to get around to finishing some of the many MOCs I start but never finish ;-)
Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing other Bricksetter's creations!
Would you consider using the 'Brickset Builders Guild' as a means for encouraging people to work together on collaborative projects for shows?
So as to get into the spirit of things, here's my latest effort :
More details at :
http://gimmelego.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/spook-central.html
It was on display at the Watford LEGO brand store recently, and will hopefully be installed at one of the LEGO brand stores in the North of England at some point over the next couple of months. Why not ?
If anyone would like the file I can send it to you :o)
I wasn't sure wether or not to post it unfinished but I have waited long enough to share it and welcome peoples thoughts on it.
@doomer72 for his Wayne Manor!
Both @carlq and I agreed that this MOC was an excellent rendition of the famous Wollaton Hall, and it is certainly a house fit for a billionaire like Bruce Wayne! Carl has given me a few words to post on his behalf:
"It was a tough choice, but my vote is for @doomer72's Wayne Manor. Despite his statement that it is "loosely based" on Wollaton Hall, I think it is an excellent representation given the scale (I've been there several times). What I like most about this is that it works well as both playset and display piece. Congratulations!"
The only prize for victory is of course the recognition, but this badge will also be posted on your wall:
So a final congratulations to @doomer72 and a good luck to all for the weeks to come!

Good job @doomer72 :o)
I love the Mini ,I would love to own Dr Dave's Ghostbusters set !,and @rancorbait your tumbler looks amazing .
I hope this thread continues to persuade people to show their talent off , I'm already checking daily for new MOCs and would like to be a judge in the future .
Thanks again for making my day guys .
And for my next trick, just completed three days ago, a Morris Minor given the technic / UCS treatment in 1:7 scale (the Mini was 1:6)
Well, here's another MOC I've been motivated to actually finish - a 96x96, 9,000 piece LEGO mosaic of the cover art of my absolute favourite album of recent years - The Resistance by Muse (opinions may vary of course)
Oh, and here's the mosaic (it is best viewed at a distance, or really small :-) ):
And another angle so you can see the studs:
This will hopefully be the first of a series of "LEGO album covers" that I hope to do... eventually :-)
It's also only the second mosaic I've ever done, and the first at this size :-)

(I think Count Dooku's gaudy red wheels are permanent :-P )
Its a vigilance class exploration pod, or 'stickpod'. Built for exploration on alien worlds it is equipped with tools for taking samples, photos, and gathering information. Since it is not a battle mech it is not armed with lethal weapons, but it is installed with a high voltage taser for incapacitating any hostiles it might encounter. It only takes one human pilot to control the machine, but it can also be operated remotely from the cruisers orbiting the planet if necessary.

It was originally designed as a 16x16 model but then the eurobricks digital comp came around and I redesigned the whole model for that as a full modular-type house/building.
I need to sort somewhere out to upload the instructions and LDD/MPD files - have both and as soon as I do I'll share them. It's about 2300 pieces give or take and potentially uses some parts that you can't actually get so may need some further adjusting.
It's turned out to be a vehicle themed week this week and some very strong offerings from a elite pool of talented builders. Both @Pittfall69 and I enjoyed pouring over the fantastic MOCs. So in a way your all winners. But in another way there can only be one winner.
This week the prestigious award of the Brickset Builders Guild contest ,
Goes to @TechnicNick for his wonderful USC scale Morris Minor.
By no means an easy feat of brick and stud engineering as the Morris Minor is one of the most curviest cars ever put into production. But somehow @TechnicNick has captured the essence if the car and as a set it wouldn't look out of place on the shelves of a Lego Brand retail Store.
As we are now entering a third week of showing off our building skills, I hand over the rains of judging to @TechnicNick who I think is more than qualified for the task.
Co-judge is yet to be announced due to a unexpected hospital visit today.
Thank you everyone and keep your ideas and talent coming.
@TechnicNick for his Morris Minor! The details of his 1:7 Scale model were fantastic. He certainly has a gift building Lego Scale Models.
The only prize for victory is of course the recognition, but this badge will also be posted on your wall:
Congratulations to @TechnicNick and good luck to next week's entries.
The immensely talented builder @rancorbait has appointed as Co-judge for this weeks contest.
