Checkout line was long so we did self-checkout. I scanned it and it rang up at $7.99, for a sec I thought I had found an awesome deal! Looked at the box & someone had taped another UPC over the real one. (But left it on the shelf?) Flagged down the employee monitoring the self-checkout, described what happened & said “Sure I like a deal but I’m not into fraud.” She fixed the price but literally could not have cared less.
Whatever, paid a little more than I could have but my integrity’s worth more than that. Hopefully set a good example for my son too.
It's not illegal to walk into a store and purchase an item with an altered bar code. However, it is illegal to walk into a store, alter a bar code, then purchase that item.
On a related note, and back on topic as well, just added below new shuttle to my collection. Got it for the equivalent of US$40, not a lot of saving but good enough a discount. :))
But not the latest Creator 3-in-1 Shuttle and all those old and big shuttle sets.
;)
(seriously, no-one?!)
I don't go for many of these themes, but thought the city stuff could be good for my son and the rest was just cake.
There were also more ninjago sets and old train pieces I didn't recognize (the latter are pre-1990s?), so this should be fun to figure out. my first set was '87
I just added years and msrp prices in US for my purposes. time to sort.
Ninjago
Some great low prices as well as some interesting pieces. The space 6971 set was pictured without the instructions (pretty sure its all there plus other Space sets) so got for a great price. Another auction in December

Surely you're moving from bargain buying to rather warm goods territory there?
I really need to move back to the mother country!
Saw the listing on Facebook Marketplace earlier in the week for "Iran Man Lego Man" [sic]. It was listed as being near to me, hence why it was flagged. However, it turned out the seller was 150 miles away but she agreed to post.
I was half expecting it to be fake but for that price it was worth the risk. However, it turned up this morning and it's completely legit. His helmet is slightly scuffed (oo-er!) but I'm very happy as it was one of the Iron Man suits that I was missing.
