@sarbear That is an awesome deal. I got my barge and ISD a couple months ago for around $100 each but paid like $250 for a NIB sandcrawler.

    @sarbear: very nice find, indeed!

@sarbear Great snag, stuff like this doesn't come around too often anymore .
  • scratchdeskscratchdesk Member Posts: 155
Just snagged a great deal IMO..off CL
    boxed/complete/w/instructions:
    SW:
    7662-Trade Federation MTT
    6211-Imperial Star Destroyer
    6210- Jabbas Sail Barge
    10144- Sandcrawler
    all for $200!!
That is outstanding! I also just splurged and bought a Sandcrawler for $175 complete in box. Wish I had your deal though!

I just picked up all 12 "mini" star wars sets for $50. All in original boxes with manuals and basically mint.

They had someone in my area who had all MISB Harry Potter from 01 & 02, totalled up to about $250 for all. I missed it by like 20 mins :(

Realllly sweet deal there on the Star Wars sets.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
Not a "great deal" but one of the WMs by me had a Hoth Wampa Cave on the shelf today. First time I had seen it at any of the local ones and it even had a tag on the shelf. Was regular price but since I didn't have it yet I bought it.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Not a brag, and I'll probably get reamed for not buying it, but I purposely missed out on a collection of older, supposedly complete sets for $425. The big kahuna was a Lego Town Classic Airport Shuttle (6399). The other sets were nothing special, but I could of probably flipped everything for a couple of hundred in profit. The catch was that the guy selling it was not the original owner and did not have any pictures of the sets put together. I was set up to meet him for the sale, but chickened out at the last minute. $425 is a lot of money for legos and I figured that by the time I would of spent building the sets to ensure that they were complete it wouldn't have been worth it. I was probably wrong, but no big deal.

Just bought a used 6764 for £7.50. Missing one hat and three pistols, but complete otherwise. No box. Thought it wasn't a bad buy!

Nothing amazing, but I just bought 21 new CMF stands (3x4 plates with studs) for 3p each on bricklink. First time I have ever managed to buy something at the cheapest price it has ever been on there, from a UK seller too. They are 5 for 99p + 99p postage on eBay!

Gratz to everyone for all the great finds! I love reading this forum :) Gives me hope that my amazing deal is out there somewhere :)

I scored some old Rock Raiders on eBay. I paid, like, seven bucks for a Loader Dozer and a Chrome Crusher. Ha ha, I got so nervous bidding that I bid against my self on accident. Oh well, whatever. :)
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ don't think you can bid against yourself anymore on ebay. Your bid is a "max bid" so if you put in a bid against yourself all it does is up your "max" but doesn't change the current bid.

    ^Unless he has 2 eBay accounts. ;)

On my way to the local Lego store, I stopped at the mailbox and found my $30 Visa gift card from a rebate. Also had $25 in VIP credits and another $5 for finding the four leaf clover. Picked up the Joust for $65.

I was looking for a batcave but they were sold out.
  • HobHob Member Posts: 223

Got 2 UFO Abductions for $11 each at one of usual WMs. First time I've found anything less than 50% off.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
Picked up two copies of the Atlantis game for 14 bucks each at TRU, purely for parts and worth it for the 2 big bags of dark blue plates.
  • sandtherapysandtherapy Member Posts: 108
This week I picked up a mixed 5 pound lot of used Legos for $9.00. So far I've been able to build Star Wars 4482 AT TE, HP Gringotts Bank, Alpha Team, Racers 4594 all complete with mini figures.

    ^Very nice.

I found a 7075 Redbeard's Pirate Ship for 5 bucks at a garage sale today. Sadly, it appears to be missing a parrot, swords, and the treasure chest.

^ sooo, what was the great find? They were all 50% off?
  • MarkeyMarkey Member Posts: 69
    edited March 2012
^ They were all discounted, but not that much, I'd say about 20% on average. Maybe this isn't the appropriate thread to post this picture...
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ lol, picture is fine, you just didn't say why it was a great find :P

LEGO City Coast Guard Platform #4210: http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=4210-1
  • MarkeyMarkey Member Posts: 69
^ Yep, thats the one. Found it in a local toy store last week, €40.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
WOW Lucky! I have been trying to find any of the Coast Guard sets, esp that one! Lol Being from Louisiana, I GOTTA have one for my city set :)
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Picked up 10179 yesterday off Craigslist for $1050. Its complete with box and instructions. The box and instructions have some wear to them but are intact and in good structural shape. Since its raining out I may put on a couple movies, hang out with my boys, take it apart and clean it as its a little dusty from being displayed.
  • MarkeyMarkey Member Posts: 69
^ That's probably the best SW set ever, bit pricey, but worth it.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
^^ Over $1,000 for a single set, but still worth bragging about. Good find! :o)
  • 12651265 Member Posts: 1,164
@Markey If bought at retail or below.....that Coast Guard set is the great find "brag."

For $250 today I got a Santa Fe locomotive, Railroad Club Car, a My Own Train engine and tender, 3 random cargo train cars (the older one from 2003), old republic gunship, old turbo tank, the first version of the maersk ship, 40 9v tracks, a bunch of roads, a fire station, creator 4956 (the house), and a hovercraft :). And some minifigs in there for the star wars sets. Love Craigslist!
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
    ^ nice find
  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
^^ Wow amazing find. Was the Santa Fe the limited edition version?
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
^^^ I dream of having the Santa Fe and Burlington trains. The 9V tracks and road plates make the deal even better. Great find.
  • Jonn420Jonn420 Member Posts: 267
Its not a huge deal, but to me its big.
on the 15th i ordered my Death Star....The Lego truck, and a Cad Bane Speeder on clearence....i got double VIP, and free shipping......visited my walmart 3 hours later, and found, all 4 star wars polys, got extra STAPs.....2 days later i hear of the Shadow ARF minifigure deal, that was good on the 15th, i call LEGO and they add an ARF1 to my LEGO order from 3 days before. (:

What's the difference on the Santa Fe limited? It has no box of instructions so I'm not sure how to tell.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Really the only difference is the limited edition one came with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and a unique numbered tile that looked something like this (with numbers 0000 thru 9999 instead of ????):

  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
^ Yes. It should be located on the front left on the train.
  • OdinduskOdindusk Member Posts: 763
^ that's cool - have any other known Lego limited edition sets done something in similar fashion?
  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
^ Other than rare minifigs, the only set I can think of is the 10179 UCS Millenium Falcon.

Just got a bin of free LEGO from a 14 year old who insists that he no longer wants them. He might regret that later. The dark ages snags another unwitting victim. Anyhow, I have begun sorting, and so far have found 7666 (Hoth Rebel Base with K-3PO), 5980 (Squidman's Pitstop), and (4709 Hogwarts Castle). It's a big bin. I guess I'll have to keep sorting.

Found a Freedom Speeder in a NJ Walmart for $12.40 last week. Got the same deal as @Jonn420 for the S@H order I made on the 15th so double points for the 2-9 MBA sets some free posters and the Shadow ARF Trooper on top of months of MBA fun. Going to TRU now then Lego Store and Target after. -bill

Was allowed to raid the grab bag crate at a LEGO store today. Charged me £35 for 4,000 pieces :O) There was most of a UCS Obi Wan Starfighter in there as well as 2 Friends sets with trans-clear curved panels and 8x16 & 16x16 blue plates. Amongst the weirder stuff I chose was a massive bag of 32-stud axles, and 100 orange ice cream scoops! Looking fwd to doing something pretty with them. Either that or open a Bricklink shop ;O)
