The size of your sets collection is currently ranked 35491st.

And I`ve only been buying for 1 year :|

17 years worth of collecting has netted me at 813th for sets owned. Doesn't sound like much, but at 978 sets, all of which are unique, I don't know whether to be proud or concerned.

A good deal for sure, but a while ago toys r us had that set on offer in Germany for 47.95 Euro without pricing failure. That's when I bought my second one of them ;-)

I convinced Toys R Us to price match the Bart Simpson Fun Pack to Lego's online store at $5.99.

Initially they weren't going to match it until I showed them that Toys R Us Price Match Policy online states Lego as a competitor they'll match.

Truthfully I think if it was any other night than the night before Thanksgiving they would have fought me on it, but as they were setting up for the shopping rush the manager told the customer service person to "just honor it and make the guest happy".

This week has been a productive week for deals.
I bought 2 Mindcraft sets (21106 and 21102) gently used and complete for $10.00 total.
In addition to that I bought a dusty Red Baron and a dusty Wright Flyer for $50.00 total.
    Great week so far :)

Went into Tesco this week and found their last series 16 minifig in the clearance shelf for only 75p! I suppose they either weren't expecting to get more stock from TLG (these things have a very short half-life, don't they? I only just managed to buy them for the first time in October and now I don't see them anywhere) and so wanted to hurry up and clear the decks to bring Christmas stock in...

My mother just bought #4865 Forbidden Forest, boxed with instructions for 20p. She thought I might appreciate it. She's not wrong!

I purchased a sealed one of those for my Mother a while ago.

It sits on her bedside table with 2 ghosts and I gave her a glow in the dark rod for Voldermort to hold as well, so half of it glows in the dark, lol.

I recently acquired a pretty much complete Monster Fighters 9467-1: The Ghost Train for £30 from eBay that was only missing a few minor small pieces which was awesome and I also managed to get myself Lego Dimensions for Xbox One which included the Starter Pack, Scooby-Doo Team Pack, Simpsons Level Pack, Doctor Who Level Pack, Back To The Future Level Pack, & Bart Fun Pack all for £65 (all of which was complete and included spare pieces that came with the sets).

One of my best hauls for a while now :)

What do you think? Good price? New/Sealed, dent in one corner of box. $48 delivered to my front door is OK yeah? Not as good as all of the garage or thrift sale stuff I see in the thread, but I'm trying. Hard to get out there and do the hunting physically like I wanna.

I remember #31039 was part of Walmart's 50% sale a few months ago (I wish I had purchased it, but oh, well). So unless you wanna wait and see if there's another sale like that you might wanna bite.

It is a good price, but with 4 available, you may want to give a best offer. I picked up a couple of these at Walmart for $35 apiece back in July, so this person might have also and could be willing to take less. Of course, if it is just a couple of bucks being quibbled over and you don't want to miss out (it is a cool looking set, and I love all of the dark blue), then go for it.

Of course, I am realizing you posted this morning, so it may be moot.

I had made an offer or two and we'd settled at 48, that image was a screen cap of my iPad, I should have been more clear. I had bought the item, was wondering if anyone thought it was a good deal. I'm thinking not, since there were better deals to be had on it.

Its cool...finding good deals has never been my strength. We all have our wheelhouse, that ain't mine never will be. But I'm always trying! :)

It was at a local thrift store. I had it in my hand for a bit. Then decided against it as the price was decent, but not great. Then I found out that everything with a silver colored tag was only $.99 that day. I ran back to grab it and it was gone..........

    Lesson learned

@Switchfoot55 What was the price marked before you found out it was $0.99?
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,354
^It was $18. It was in a plastic bag, no box, no instructions, no minifigs, no motorcycle or truck, just the Quinjet. Again, a decent price that I maybe should have pulled the trigger on.
  • Bricklover18Bricklover18 Member Posts: 722

The clearance price at my local store...they were out of stock.

No, not worth $18 for just the quinjet. $0.99 yes, but not $18. I got a sealed one from WalMart for $19+ tax back in the spring.

During the recent 20% discount off warehouse items on Amazon.co.uk through Black Friday/Cyber Week I managed to find 3 x Lego Storage Brick 4 Medium Dark Green for a total of £8.25 (2 worked out at £2.63 each and the other was £2.99); LEGO Super Heroes Superman Vs Power Armor Lex 6862 for £4.89 (an awesome price); Doctor Who 21304-1 for £23.68; LEGO Dimensions Harry Potter Team Pack for £12.78; LEGO Dimensions Mission Impossible Level Pack for £12.28; LEGO Dimensions Fun Pack - LEGO Movie Benny for £4.60: LEGO Dimensions Team Pack DC Joker/Harley for £12.39: & Lego Dimensions Fun Pack DC Superman for £5.75. I nearly had LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters Level Pack for £13.05 too but it was cancelled citing a stock issue :(

Some stated possible damage but this was minimal and definitely nothing major and in terms of the Lego Dimensions sets it wouldn't have bothered me anyway. In total it cost me £84.62 but the saving was much more substantial. I was definitely happy anyway.

Recently ordered several Dimensions pack off [email protected] for unbelievable prices, just waiting for them to arrive now, both Story Packs for AU$15.99 each, several Fun Packs for AU$6.99 each, a few Team Packs for AU$12.99 each & several Level Packs for AU$9.99. Got multiples of the Tina Goldstein Fun Pack, Mission Impossible & Adventure Time Level Packs for some of parts, including minifig parts (cheaper than ordering parts from BL).

Fingers crossed for the integrity of your Tumbler - that's a fantastic bargain if it's Lego, and the studs on the long vertical piece to the left of that last picture make me optimistic...

@Jackad7 Could be a parts mix. If you could get a clearer pic of some of the plates grouped with the dust cleared that would, um, clear up the confusion. There are LEGO pieces there, indicated by logo and consistent logo interrupts on the spru studs. LEPIN has no logo and an inconsistent finishing circle on the spru studs on the top of the plates.

This reminded me of the UCS Tumbler and Mini Cooper that I got...for free. I never intended to get that kind of bargain, but it just kinda happened. Bought the two of them on eBay as a pair for under 250 used. Not a terrible price to me. Shipped TERRIBLY. All assembled, parts broken and bent. Seller said No Returns. I said...Um, eBay says you gotta ship as described, this ain't. So I initiated a Return after he refused to take it back.

Used his label, after 3.5 weeks it shows up...at my house! He gave me some old address. Keep in mind over these 3.5 weeks I was messaging the Seller for any kind of update....not a single reply. My theory is that he was hoping it would say delivered (it did) and that eBay would settle the dispute giving him his money (negating the return entirely). They did.

Called eBay and a very nice woman told me that I did what I was supposed to do, that the Seller is supposed to review the label info and confirm it is correct when it is issued. She plugged some stuff in told me to give it a day or so and the refund would appear in my PayPal account. I asked her what I was supposed to do with the package because I didn't want to pay to ship it back to the Seller.

She said I didn't have to do anything, that it would be between the Seller and I to work anything out from this point on.

Few hours later, money appears in my PayPal. MINUTES LATER, Seller contacts me asking about me sending the items back to him. I wrestled with it for a few minutes and decided to be a bad person. I let him eat the same silence he gave me for almost a month. Felt guilty for around three minutes then began to assess the Tumbler for what I'd need to order from BL.

Check out the progression...from receiving the items to assessment, pre-build sort, and build.

The Tumbler 76023 & Mini Cooper 10242 Cost Breakdown
    Regular Retail Price: $300
    Secondary Market Cost: under $250
    Refund Amount: under $250
    Total for both Sets: $0
Getting a Deadbeat Seller Who Tried to Screw Me to Eat a Turd: PRICELESS.
By not sending them back you were not a bad person that low life slime would have full well taken both had he gotten the items shipped to him. Same thing happened to me with an electronic that was nowhere near described except ebay wouldnt let me return it so I went through paypal. When I shipped it back somehow the trackig number was ever so slightly off so paypal closed it giving him the money and electronics. Called paypal and showed them I printed the label on their site and they said they couldnt force the seller to do anything. Seller never responded to any of my messages. However I do have a visit to make if I ever go to New Mexico ;) (not violent but I will bring all the evidence).
