I've been looking for a #7623 for a while now and I just picked one up on Craigslist for $60 CAD ~ $45 US. I think what is most awesome about this is that the seller built this set once and immediately put it back in the box so everything, including the instructions and box, is in crazy good condition, almost new. The original sticker sheet with those extra spider  stickers were also in there and the spare parts.

Probably not much of a great find, but I just managed to snag 14 CMF including a complete Bumblebee Girl for 22 EUR incl. postage.

Found #76035 at the Navy Exchange here in Italy for $82! Wasn't even on sale, was just how it was priced. They're usually pretty hit or miss, sometimes a little over MSRP, sometimes a little under, but never that much under! :D

I don't know about bragging but this was certainly an unexpected find. How could I pass up retired Arctic Batman & Mr Freeze at that price?!

i know people are going to Hate me for this.

so i was over at my local hospital the other day (for you know "reasons") and there was a Toy Sale, no idea what for, any how found 3 lego sets there,

the 1st one Star Wars Buildable Figure, 75111: Darth Vader.
the 2nd was Chima, 70123: Lion Legend Beast.
and the last one was Ninjago, 70741: Airjitzu Cole Flyer.

i picked up all 3 sets for £5 each. that right i got the £24.99 Darth Vader Buildable Figure for £5, yes i was shocked to. but that is what i was told the price was. it made up for being in the Hospital. Cole Flyer is still a round in shops but in the UK Lion Legend Beast is not. and now sells for £25 and up on Amazon marketplace. seeing as its RRP was £7.99 when it 1st come out that is a big jump. so picking all 3 up for £5 each, (£15 in all) made my day.
    ---
as i said before, i know people are going to hate me for that type of saving. but i also had to share it with others.

On the 24th, I was at Walmart for some last minute groceries and cruised the Lego aisle "just in case". Well what to wondering eyes should appear a #5770 Light-house in perfect shape for $19.00! I sure would like to know the story of how it got there.

A place called Bargain Hunt.  It's like an overstock store. Also items that get banged up or don't sell at retail stores go to BH. It's very hit and miss.

Just got a nice haul from eBay for £55. Just finished catalogueing whats included but I do have to verify a lot of these. Having said that though several sets are new (damaged boxes), and many battered boxes with parts and instructions, others are just instructions and a big pile of bricks. Lots of minifigs to wade through also. It's gonna take a while to validate, but should be fun.

Awesome haul!  I'm wondering how you search for lots like these on Ebay.  Seems every time I look for Lego lots on Ebay I just get generic listings from resellers with piles of bricks by the lb, or even worse, generic legos.  Appreciate any search tips you can share.

I don't really have any tips, I just tend to search for mixed lego or job lots. Like you say many instances are by weight and are very hit and miss. I think this instance was as much luck as good judgment but what was key to the price at least was:

    1. Only 1 picture, which showed very little other a big sack of lego BUT did include the box for the Fire Temple which would have probably been a good price in itself. Non of the other box's or instructions were shown in the picture

    2. This was local collection only and was a 4hr round trip for me. So be prepared to travel. While this takes a lot of time, and could be costly in fuel, its zero cost for me as I have company car with fuel paid.

    3. I got lucky with communications - I contacted seller to enquire if they knew what sets were likely included and they sent me a pretty extensive list, which gave me a good idea of what I was bidding on. I'm pretty sure most sellers would not have been so detailed.

    4. When I arrived to collect the very nice lady said she had found some more boxes which she threw in :) i.e. #9470 was never mentioned and turned out to be a sealed set.

I was actually surprised at how little this went for and was prepared to go a good deal higher. Tuned out I was only bidding against two other bidders, presumably because of location. Interestingly location usually goes against me :)

    Hope this helps.

Last weekend I picked up a large tote filled with lego, and unfortunately some MB and other clone brands.  This is what I am not keeping.   There were three Dino sets, Triceratops, raptor, and the little one.   Plus Monster Fighters Crazy Scientist set and Starwars Rogue Shadow set that I kept.

I don't do bulk lego lots too often, but this one was worth my time.

Well I've had a quick look through this page and I was (was) pretty happy with my http://brickset.com/sets/10242-1/Mini-Cooper-MK-VII for £60 BNIB off eBay. That last haul listed above for £55 is more Lego than I've ever owned, ha!

Oh and this is my first post by the way :)

I was going to ask about this 'used' Lego, what's the best way to clean it? That's what's put me off buying it before.

If it makes you feel better (or worse) I only started with the Lego bug late November last year and aside from this weekends haul haven't bought much 'used' Lego though I have obtained a decent amount, all 'New', largely due to Christmas.

This lot listed above is actually very clean, but I did have to clean a large tub of very old lego of my own that had been in a shed for 20 years and it wasn't a lot of fun and I'm not sure my method was the best.
