I went to the Fair Lakes Virginia TRU and picked up a couple of small sets and polybags to qualify for the Rocket Raccoon poly. Grabbed the last #30186 Christmas Tree and was pleasantly surprised, if not shocked, to find out that it was only three cents.

was at the flea market today and boy was it a really good day for me! Found a "Black Minifig, Headgear Hair Female Pigtails", one of those really weird looking paradisa faces, and the yellow legs in the Build a minifigure set up while I was making 3 figures so I got that as one of the hairs, pants, and heads then i got some really cool parts from the quarter bin. And then at another booth I scored a sealed 70113 for 3 bucks! then at yet another booth I scored a small amount of random bits for 1.75.

On Friday I got a free Hobbit magnet for just appearing in the store.

While at Brick2014 on the Friday I got two free LEGO Club Max figures and two Batman's. At TRU I got the Ninjago and Rocket Racoon ploybags for free when I purchased two collectable minifigures. Which works out £1 per minifigure, thanks to @caperberry for the heads up.

Got 5kg lego bricks in dusty brand new condition for £50. Among the bricks there were #4195 Queen Anne's Revenge and #4737 Quidditch Match both complete with minifigs, and 7x series 2 minifigs (Spartan warrior, Weightlifter, Witch, Vampire, and 3x Surfers). Happy, I long wanted a nice lego ship :)

My first post here. My parents kept all my Legos from I was a kid in the 80s. They are all stored in mixed boxes downstairs. Now that I have kids, I sometimes go downstairs and search around to rebuild old constructions then give them to the kids (I built the "Yellow" Castle and the Galaxy Explorer that way).

Yesterday I found two odd panels, then found the manual, then when I registered the set on Brickset I noticed it seemed very rare and on high demand. A few searches on the Internet informed me that I had one of the rarest Lego set and that I could be making some money if I decided to sell it. The prices seem ridiculous and I don't plan to sell for the moment, but still a good find in my own basement. Price paid: 7.99 in the 1980s and a lot of wait...

Holy cow, i´ve just checked BL, the cheapest one over there is over 1000€ in used condition!!!!

It seems quite expensive, I saw on the Internet that some sold for over 2000$, but I don't think it's realistic to presume it could sell at those prices. Anyone can ask for any price on the Internet, it doesn't say anything about it's value untill it is sold. For now I just feel like the people on "Antiques roadshow" that dug up some old thing in their cellar to find it's worth thousands of dollars (well, hundreds...)

@Jungle_Jim that is a rare find, only 3 lots on Bricklink. The manual looks to be in excellent condition too. If you can get a scan or good photo of the cover, I'm sure yours could be used to update the current image.

I even feel guilty to brag about it, just got #4842 Hogwarts Castle, #4840 The Burrow, #4738 Hagrid's Hut, #10199 Winter Village Toy Shop, #5891 Apple Tree House, all for £165. There are couple of pieces missing here and there (Toy Shop and the Burrow appear complete!) but the condition of lego is great and all instructions are there. Soooo trilled, really wanted the Burrow but ebay prices skyrocketed over the past few weeks, and I almost resolved to try my luck after Christmas and then came across this bundle locally. The Toy Shop is truly cute, will go on the shelf next to our Christmas tree for the holidays!

@chuckp‌ Yes my manual is in much better shape than the current picture, it is almost perfect. I will try to find time to scan it at work and send it to brickset afterwards. Anybody willing to trade for a Cafe Corner? ;-)

Picked up a sealed GE for $125 on craigslist today. The box is a bit worn but all of the seals are intact. I weighed it and it has the same weight as the two others I purchased from S@H just before EOL.

Just picked up 50kg for £80. Including lots of the old dino sets and toy story. Not sure if I will have time to go through it and sort it for weeks. :(

^Nice one, I love sorting stuff its so therapeutic and entertaining at the same time, discovering the sets that are in there, piecing together minifigs, almost as fun as building itself!

^I would say it is more fun to sort a big pile of unknown Lego to see what sets turn up. In each job lot I buy there is a brick/figures I have never seen before.... Sorting 50 kgs is a massive job though. I prefer the job lots from parents/children, as you can build complete or near complete sets. A 50 kg lot would be made up of all sorts.

Bought te old sandcrawler&tantive(system scale) and the old cantina for 150€ total from a member of a german lego-forum! Tantive is missing figures (who cares?) and crawler is missing R2-D2 and C-3PO everything else is there! AFOL owned,bricks are shiny as new and instructions look like straight out the box,only missing the boxes! Couldn't be happier :)

While looking at the near bare Lego shelves of the local Tesco I noticed a lone #70002 on the shelf, looking a bit beat up, with no SEL. I checked it on the shelf scanner £0.04. Thats my bargain of the year!

Funnily enough i went in to buy a storage box for my winter village so used that box as my bag and did get 1 green club card point. From the look of the box I recon it'd been jammed between two shelves or something, but the Lego inside was all fine :-) I did feel quite smug walking out with it.

The best deal I have got is 'Freeing Dobby' for £1.88 at Asda and 'Power Armour Lex' for £5.00 at Tesco. Since then nothing :/

This was obviously one that had been dropped somewhere so it was just a massive bit of luck for me being in the right place at the right time.

I am new to the forum. I acquire my Lego at retail, clearance sales or finding them at Yard/Garage sales. I go to sales every Saturday to look, not only for Lego, but for other non-Lego items to sell on eBay. I find mostly loose Lego parts. Recently I have had two really super Lego finds. At one sale, I found a plastic bag full of unopened factory bags of Lego parts. Recognized them as parts of a 31313 EV3 Robot set. Asked how much? Guy says 10 bucks. I say "sold." Took it home and poured the bag out. It turned out to be a 100% complete EV3 with ALL the parts sealed in original factory poly bags including instructions, decal sheet, computer module, motors, etc. It looked like someone opened a new EV3 and dumped the entire contents into the bag and threw the box away. The other find was an 8480 Space Shuttle (1996). It was in the box with the instructions and some of the parts and motors were still factory sealed. Paid $10 for it. This in itself this was a pretty good deal. To make a long story short. Although I didn't know it at the time, I found out the guy who owned the set and sold it to me was former Space Shuttle Astronaut Scott Parazynski. I contacted him via his website to see if he would be kind enough to sign the instruction manual. He said he would be happy to sign it for me, which he did. He is an extremely nice person. Without question, the 8480 is the premier set in my small collection of Lego.

My local walmart is having their semi-decennial clearance (they VERY rarely clear out their back room properly) right now and tonight stumbled upon and stocked a box of 3818 Bikini Bottom Undersea Party. They never once stocked this set when it was an active set. Just as well; I was able to buy the pair for $35 each!

A kind soul answered my Wanted ad in the local paper. I was lead to believe she had a suitcase of Lego that belonged to her son. I got a good feeling so didnt bother to ask what sort of Lego it was, just turned up to find a suitcase full to the brim (as she had said) and figures falling out like worms in a can... I saw loads of vintage Castle figures and some manuals. No point looking to deeply, I just needed to know the price. This is where it gets difficult. She asked me to quote her a price. So I thought I start low and offered £50 and she took it. She seemed pleased too. When I got home I found manuals for 14 Castle sets (including #6080 and #6085) 3 pirate sets (#6270, #6274 and #6276) plus loads of other smaller manuals. The ship hull is missing and there will be other bricks missing, but I find it hard to complain...
When you visit peoples homes you never know what to expect. This home was like a wee museum, with lots of vintage everything. The only newish item I saw, was a massive 2 by 1 meter dollhouse complete with furniture. Odd to see such a big dollhouse in a tiny living room... If you have four grand I believe your daughters will be happy next christmas... I should of taken a photo of it.
All in all a good deal. I was happy and the lady was happy. I was even given a vintage teddy bear that is 80 years old. However I do feel slightly guilty for not paying more, but I suppose if I had not bought it, she would have sold it to somebody else.

@Norlego the LEGO haul is cool and all, but do you have a picture of the Teddy? Particularly a tag or foot stitching that identifies the origin of the piece. An extreme close up of the fur would help too. It's ironic you should call her place a wee museum because if it's what I think it may be, you were given something that's almost priceless which actually belongs in a museum.

Some luck in Tesco the other day - a #60007 High Speed Chase for £10, a s3 Mixel for £1 (it had been opened and one wing missing but it was only £1!) and #75052 Mos Eisley Cantina for £32 - late Christmas present for me :-)

Japan's major holiday is New Years. Lots of stores create happy bags. Here is toys r us and the happy bag I got for what would equal about 60 USD. Not really the type of Legos I'm into but looks like I got a good deal. About 50% off rrp. You can't see what is in the bags before you buy. It's actually strange Legos tend to be about 10-20% cheaper here. Toys r us also carries #10664 creative tower for about 50 USD and that's their everyday price.
