Picked up a sealed #10210 Imperial Flagship for less than RRP.

    Awesome! How?
Was on a local classifieds site. Seller was aware of the true value as well. Just got lucky I guess.

I bought a load of City sets for £43 on Ebay. The seller did not wish to post but the sets were ready built so in very good condition. The sets included: 7627 (plus 3 other farm sets), 10184, 7627 (+2 other jones sets), 7993, 7237 and a load of smaller sets.
So keep a look out for sellers unwilling to post. You are guaranteed a good price...

Your £43 included a complete #10184?? That is good going.

As many others Bricksetters probably do, l have one of my default eBay lego searches set at distance nearest - don't score much this way but when I do its usually a belting deal, particularly on big lots doing collection only.
  • bukormenbukormen Member Posts: 20
The 10184 looks complete and in unplayed condition. Along with the other sets in simliar condition I am not going to complain.... Even small items like fruit that you would expect to end up in the hover, were still there...
Roxio: I look at lots everywhere as sellers ofen accept a courier if you ask even if it states collection only. Good deals to be had that way!

Not a "Great Find" , but a good deal for these used sets. $700 for the lot. Adult owned and displayed. Complete with instructions. No boxes.
We have been moving away from Star Wars over the past few years, so 8 sets are included in this lot that we do not yet own. And another b-wing to sell.

Found a local ad for "old LEGO" ended up with a 20lb box of used 70's & 80's loose sets that I still have to look at. It also included two NISB sets... #6380 with all box seals in place and figures and parts nicely displayed in their trays and #6926, no seals on the box so you can slide the inner box out and the parts are sealed in bags.
If anyone is interested, let me know and we can work something out before I list them on BL.

Picked up a very dusty but complete #4954 with all instructions for only $90 US. In dismantling to wash pieces I found only one 1x2 blue plate that is not Lego, otherwise it looks to be 100% complete.

I recently picked up a job lot of Atlantis sets off eBay for £55. Sets were #8056, #8059, #8060, #8061, #8076, #8077 and #8078. No boxes, but with instructions and 100% complete.

Lucky for me that in the box were also Good Neighbours at Bikini Bottom, Technic Go Kart and Flying Mummy Escape! What a steal!

I scored a lot of classic Pirates sets for $160 shipped off evilBay. Included:

    #6248 Volcano Island
    #6250 Crossbone Clipper
    #6270 Forbidden Island
    #6276 Eldorado Fortress
and (not even mentioned in the listing!)
    #6249 Pirates Ambush

Just inventoried them on BL and I'm not missing anything essential, altogether just a handful of common parts. They're dirty, but 99% present and accounted for, making me quite happy.

Not a find as such, but I'm happy.
The Architecture studio #21050 isn't available in the UK, so I figured I'd buy it from Amazon.com. A couple of months of trying, but every time I got to the checkout I was told that 'we can't ship to that address', presumably because it was in the UK.

Dropped customer services a mail last week to enquire as to why, and got a long, apologetic reply, saying 'we just don't ship some stuff overseas'.

Next day, got one of the usual 'You might like to consider...' mails from Amazon.com, and top of the list was 21050. Like a glutton for punishment, I put it in my basket and tried to check out.

    And it worked!

According to tracking, it's just cleared customs in the UK. I know it's just an overpriced box of white bricks with a nice book, but who cares? I'm excited!

So, I've been searching for an Agents #8637 Volcano Base for a while now. But, somewhat like buses, I've ended up with 2 at the same time :-)

VB#1 I won on eBay for £22. It had a box and instructions and was built but was clearly incomplete, had no "lava pit" add-on and the figures seemed to be completely wrong - Ninjago, City, even a clone trooper helmet!
I thought, I'll see what it actually includes when I get it and then BL the rest.

Fast forward a couple of days, and I see VB#2 is ending soon quite cheaply and the seller has a #8634 too. Both are listed as complete to the seller's knowledge but with a disclaimer that there may be substitutions. (The super-cool sound brick from #8634 is noted as definitely included though). Instructions included but no box. I ended up getting them both for £45 shipped.

VB#1 arrived yesterday and is indeed incomplete - and badly in need of a wash (dusty and smoky :-( ) but after inventorising what is there and what parts I have in my own stock, I will only require about 25 parts to complete it - nothing too rare, I think. I was surprised and delighted to find that although I had indeed been sent 3 random minifigs, I also received Dr Inferno, Claw-Dette and Saw-Arm! The box was in great nick too.

So I have one almost-complete VB and hopefully another on the way, plus #8634, for a grand total of £67 (I've seen used complete VBs exceed this price on ebay). I'm a very very happy girl.
I'm thinking of merging the two sets into a giant super-villainous volcano lair MOC :-)

Now I just need #8971 for Agents completion!

Geez how do you find these deals guys! Over in the US the cheapest full Volcano Base I can is $299.99 :O

In other words I bought a sealed #8104 for $18.00 so that's something.......
Although doesn't sound early as good as a Volcano base...:P

@andhe- It was buy online/win on eBay, but since I last posted I've received it in the mail, built it, and put it on display. It really is a beautiful set.

I failed to mention in my first post I had a sizeable eBay bucks certificate and was able to acquire the one I did at a reasonable price.

Hence it only costing me $13 overall. Although, @CCC, I wouldn't have minded a nice Christmas sweater instead ;o)

Picked up a mixed lot last week for $165. Weirdest grouping I've ever seen. In addition to an almost complete #7058, #6271, and #9442, I found around 60 classic late 80s castle figures in impeccable condition, a mountain of medieval weapons and all the sails and pieces for #6227 (which is great because I had the base plates for that one already.)

Real strange mix of old and new sets and figures, but I am very happy with this find!

I don't know if it (internationally) is a great score, but non the less I am pretty happy, having just bought the Galactic Titan:
    brickset.com/detail/?Set=70709-1
Regular retail price here in The Netherlands is €99,99, but I have been able to acquire it with 20% Sinterklaas discount from the Department store Vroom&Dreesman for €79,99.
With a 1012 piece count, it is the biggest Galaxy Squad Lego set, and judging from the imagery of the box I think it will be a fun build, and a fantastic set to behold and own. I bought this for myself, but for those adults who will buy this set as a present for their children, I believe it is also of course an incredibly great Lego set with excellent minifigs and lots of interesting features for kids to play with.
  • adventure_aladventure_al Scotland Member Posts: 243
Well since Im new back on the scene aswell as my own lego stash (thank goodness i never gave that up) I've been buying all and sundrie to make up for lost time.

The most recent being a vague listing of 'box of lego' for £40 online.

Little did I know a courier would deliver a gigantic box with close to 10KG off at my door!

Weirdest mix ive ever seen. Many 'new' parts including Indiana jones and star wars. Loads of minifigure accessories, hats and weapons yet strange lack of actual figures bar the odd one.

And then oddest of the lot... a number of 70s star wars figures thrown in for good meaasure!? (not even lego related!)

With the quality and quantity for only £40, I am a very happy man right now!

On a whim my wife brought 5 set #8015 to work as I had told her about the Chrome Darth Vader promo going on at the time and I have had these in my basement since then. We weighed them on my scale and found all but one weighed between .240 and .248lbs. One weighed .262 lbs so I opened it and there he was, Chrome Darth Vader.
