For $95 shipped, I won this nice bulk lot of sand green pieces. Some are still in the original sealed bag. I'm pretty sure this is the famed Statue of Liberty #3450. Any guesses as to how complete (% of 2,882 pieces) before I start counting?
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
Not sure this qualifies but I just used my Ebay bucks and bought 3 Saesee Tiin's starfighters. Ended up costing me only $5 each and the shipping was free.

@BrickDancer look for the macaroni pcs http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3063 , if you don't have those it will cost you a pretty penny to get all 4.

Bought about 20lbs of bulk off CL, after cleaning out the MB and miscellaneous toys, for $50. Looks to have complete 8069, or near complete.

Its a negative on the macaroni pieces. Turns out its only 40% complete for the SoL. A quick price analysis showed its too expensive to bricklink the rest. So now trying to figure out what I'm going to do with a lot of sand green bricks =(

If you have a bricklink store, it'd be a good money maker, for a collection item, it'd add some really cool colors to the collection.

^^I think you might be on to something @brickmatic!

^I do have a BL store, but haven't done much selling through it aside from a few sets. Haven't sold any loose parts before. But looking up the prices of the pieces, I definitely agree these can be hefty in value. I have over 300 of the 2x2 Corner brick alone, which goes for over $1 a piece and quite low in number, globally even. Guess it'll help somebody somewhere if I put up all these sand green bricks for sale.

Not sure if it's a worth a brag but I thought a nice deal. Since I like Castle's I was looking for one of the Hogwarts Castle's and not sure which one I wanted. I ended up making a deal with another Dutch Lowlug member who wanted to sell the buildings but keep the minifigures. So today I was happy to receive :

    4736 Freeing Dobey
    4840 The Burrow
    4867 Hogwarts
    4842 Hogwarts Castle

I got the lot including instructions but without the minifigures for € 130,00. Considering the value (new and used) of these sets not too bad I guess. In time I can always try to find the minifigures.

@BrickDancer you could always build it multi-colored. We saw one built like that and now hubby wants to build one from bulk.

Got the #7346 Seaside House today at a local toy store for $27 CDN.

A great addition today to my collection. Very hard to find normally and if you find this set it goes for top price. I was very lucky to get it in great condition including instructions and box as good as new !

3739-1: Blacksmith Shop delivered at home for €86,50 !!
  • JT32JT32 Member Posts: 124
I picked up the Blacksmith shop 3739 for £25 Inc postage off ebay this week. It was missing 1 1x1 brick and the female minifig. I then picked up the female minifig for £5 on ebay a few days later. Absolute bargain, great set as well.
  • ErnstErnst Member Posts: 133
@ JT32 That's almost theft, but good find indeed. Doesn't make me jealouse though, still very happy with mine for that price.

Just picked up the last 4841 Hogwarts Express from TRU for £50, box is slightly damaged at the back but still pretty happy with myself! Just need to stumble on an affordable The Burrow and I can finally be happy with my HP collection! :)
  • GentlyBenevolentGentlyBenevolent Member Posts: 343
I got a Lego Racers 8671 Ferrari F430 Spider, used & complete, no box but with the instructions & stickers on a plastic sheet, (looks like they have been applied and then taken off, luckily there are none missing).
    Total cost = £8.00.
I'm not into cars as such, so I may put this on ebay near Christmas.
  • mdellemanmdelleman Member Posts: 274
@Penkid11 Yes I am keeping everything "great" which is pretty much everything I listed there. I am purging a little after this buy though. I sold most of my smaller Star Wars sets and will be selling some of the bulk and incomplete sets that were in that lot. So far I have made about $500 back from extra's. Not bad for a Craigslist ad!

@LegobrandonCP I went to buy a box of random train stuff from someone that looked like a great deal but when I walked in to the room where the LEGO was I was blown away! GG and CC basically complete just sitting there, Maersk ship right in front of me. LEGO everywhere! I made them an offer of $1000 for everything in the room right there. I could not get all of the LEGO in my truck fast enough!!

    A great deal/steal on Dutch Marktplaats :

    6062-1: Battering Ram
    6103-1: Castle Mini Figures
    1480-1: King's Catapult
    1491-1: Dual Defender
    1695-1: Treasure Chest

All together for only €45.00, which is already a great deal for just 6062 which has an average on Bricklink of € 75,00

Still a great find! I am never sure with the old sets when I see them in a garage sale because I just don't know that much about them. And standing there with my smartphone checking bricklink looks stupid ;-)

Bought a mixed lot of bricks off eBay, 20lbs for $145. There was only one picture and it had a deep container with an older Jabba minifig sitting on top and nothing else really memorable or identifiable.

So far I've found the following complete sets inside:
    #10024 - Red Baron
    #7662 - MTT
    #6210 - Jabba's Sail Barge
    #6211 - Imperial Star Destroyer
#7661 - Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring
    #7249 - XXL Mobile Crane
    #7243 - Construction Site

Lots more to uncover (and some Megablocks to remove) but thrilled so far!
  • JosephJoseph Member Posts: 629
^^Wow! And how did you manage that?
  • Penkid11Penkid11 Member Posts: 788
2 $10 off $50 coupons and the 10% coupon in the newest product catalog along with $30 in VIP points and a $10 gift card. The PAB cup and the minifigure pack were both free with a $35 purchase.

Well I didn't find a new sealed Town Hall but I did have a pretty good find tonight.

Used Emerald Night with box and instructions - $60

It was missing a few pieces that I had extra laying around and one minifig that I will order for $2 off of BrickLink! Can't wait to build it with my son!

Just received my latest ebay buy, 23kg for about 280EUR.
A quick picking of rarer parts revealed more than 30 sets (I expect it to be more like 50 to 60 sets). Including 8297, 7783, 4512, 8275, 7894, 7780 and a lot of Star Wars sets.
Judging by the parts, probably a 10221 is in there as well.
Unfortunately this will take up hours of sorting but might hold more surprises :)
  • mdellemanmdelleman Member Posts: 274
    ^ Wow nice find!

I'm a sucker for those big lots. Always so many awesome surprises in there and I seem to get lucky. Thrill of the chase almost lol. So much work but i'd like to think I have a pretty good method down now. Best of luck!

Had 2 good "finds" this week, 1st was on Wednesday and consisted of #5585, #7635 & #7639, all 3 are complete. There is a bucket of mixed Duplo bricks as well. Total cost £8.00.
The second "find" I picked up today, (Friday), was from a Lady who I work with, her grandson has outgrown his Lego collection. Turned out to be 3 large tubs full & a smaller tub with mostly mini-figs in it. Total cost £200, (I have seen 2 different Lego train sets mixed in with all the rest of the bricks). I can see myself being very busy for quite a while sorting it all out.......

"May God Have Mercy On My Sole". This is the biggest bulk lot I have ever had but nothing I can't handle. Its quite funny because the smaller lot I got on Wednesday had a #7635 & a #7639 in it and the big lot I got today has the same 2 sets as well.

On wednesday at a car boot picked up 7261 clone turbo tank without the figs sadly, as well as a selection of star wars and ninjago minifigs and a series 1 zombie figure for the grand total of £13.
