    Not the best deal in the world, but I was very happy to find #7189 MVR on the shelf in a smaller Toy Shop in Doncaster. It was RRP.

    I know it can be gotten cheaper on Bricklink, but once Shipping is factored in, it's not that far off, and I had the pleasure of picking it off the shelf.

    Amazon, now there's a good idea I didn't think of, Lego VIP points are Ok if you buy stuff from S&H. The last thing I got from S&H was a 10030 UCS ISD, that says how much & how frequently I buy direct from Lego.

    Just bought 3 boxes of 6912 Super Soarer and 2 boxes of 7235 Police Motorcycle for a total of £11.35 in my local Sainsbury's. Result!

    Had a great find yesterday, No I had a great miss. Local Boot Sale and a lady has a box of mixed toys on her table 20p an item, I spot a shelf unit with jars and bottles from the Harry Potter baggie, and this brown cupboard with silver studs which looks like the vanishing cabinet from the room of requirement (4842)- Looks like it because it is! She sold the rest for £3.00 earlier!.
    well at least I got some silver studs for 20p.

    @Jezzatheshed ,I know how you feel, I go to the boot sales every Sunday aswell and one day there was a box of Lego with probably 50 figs and a lot of sets in it and the silly idiot had sold it just before I got there to see how much it was and it was only £3 and I had literally missed that great cheap find by about ten seconds, but last week I got a massive box of Lego for £30 which was a great find which had very old 1960's sets still with some of the original boxes

    Garage sale yesterday- scored approx. 6 gallons of LEGO for $50, talked down from $60 w/ unknown Bionicle figure thrown in. Sellers priced against PAB wall & hardly budgedl. Fair mix of most themes, no full sets but nice pieces from 487(!), umbrella from 4996 Beach House (sadly no more signs of it), Quidditch Match, dolphin panels from Scuba Squad, 90% of 8057 Wreck Raider, partial 4970, partial 7641, much more.

    Surprised my kids when they walked in the door. In the midst of it all, 6195 arrived in the mail, & they went crazy! Unofficial LEGO Day!

    Great thing is, seller's younger daughter saw all the $$$ exchanging hands & decided to sell some of hers- which is to be held for me this morning!

    3 more gallon bags waiting for me at the garage sale. More pieces from Quidditch Match, tons of 1x1 round plates from PAB, more of the same. The kids are ecstatic.

    Not amazing finds but a good LEGO day overall today. Made a trip to pick up a NISB #4561 Railway Express for $140 and on the drive did some Walmart clearance checking and found a Helms Deeps for $89. Pretty beat up box but was still sealed and is for me so I didn't care. Also got a $13 Cube Escape and $35 Hulk Breakout. Visted the Toys R US that time forgot as well. They don't get rid of anything it seems. Still had Atlantis, PoP, Toy Story and all sorts of other stuff no one has. They had a box of CMF 6, 7 and 8 out. 8 was empty so I took the box and I bought a few of CMF 6 that I thought were good ones.

    While on vacation in the Austrian countryside I browsed through a toy store and found sealed Mars Mission sets 7690 and 7644 with some wear on the box reduced -50%.

    I played to the "desperation" of the shopowner to sell these old sets and got an additional discount. I am not into the Mars Mission theme at all, but I paid 72 Euro for both (750+pcs) sets on the spot and it only took one week to sell on ebay for 255 GBP.

    I went to the Rotary Club annual bank holiday car boot sale at Wilton house today all I managed to get was a small bundle of Lego consisting of a old plane, a small microlight & 72 mini-figs. The lady was selling the figures 5 for £1, £2 for the microlight & £8 for the plane, I got the lot for £10, (check out the pics, sorry they are a bit blurry). I did see a lady selling a 1352 Explosion Studio which was very incomplete & had M*** B*** figures & bricks in the box....she wanted £30,(!!!!!), for it, I did say that it wasn't right but she was insistent she wanted "her £30"..... she didn't get it.

    Well it was'nt a recent purchase, but man it was a good one. Several years ago i got a droid developer kit @ kay bee toys for $50.00. Must have been a going out of business sale. Best deal i've ever gotten. Lol!

    I didn't see the Darth Vader & trust me even at £15 you did yourself a favour walking away from the 1352, like I said there were M*** B*** figs in there. I did see a plywood box with a sectioned tray inside with a fair few bits of basic 2x4 white lego brick and some basic red lego windows, (nothing special but looked old), inside but the lid had Lego badly scribbled on top in pencil !, didn't even bother asking how much. Off topic I thought that this year the Rotary car boot was pretty poor compared to the previous ones, I over heard 1 woman saying that she wished she had gone to the car boot in Yeovil !.

    Have the opportunity to buy Grand Carousel and Taj Mahal for $1800 NIB. Any thoughts on future price moves for these? Grand Carousel would be opened and built this long weekend, Taj will be kept sealed for 10 years or so.

    Yep, that was me. Total luck. I was sitting at the office reading Brickset tales of good deals and impulsively decided to check craigslist. Literally did a spit-take when I saw the ad. I'm not usually lucky so I guess I was due!

    It has overall worked out well. The set was basically 100% complete -- I chose to replace the glued parts but no complaints here. Definitely worth the deal and the followup work to sort through and determine what pieces were missing and the building to, you know "check that it was complete." Probably spent another $100 or so on replacement parts for the glued pieces (much of that was the shipping from multiple sellers, not actual pieces).

    Well, I thought I'd stumbled upon a pretty good deal when I saw a sealed #7196 Indiana Jones Chauchilla Cemetery Battle in fine condition for only £12 on eBay ... but unfortunately it didn't arrive in that condition :-(

    My best find was waiting for me when I was checking out at local TRU. The manager knows I am REALLY into Legos :) so he had this brought up front while I was shopping and gave it to me when I checked out!

    Gave @LegobrandonCP My 2 managers at the local TRU are actually awesome guys! They know I don't care which lego displays, I will take any and all they want to let me have lol. They know that I use them to help me (and now others) with PTSD. Yeah I got my 2 NCOs into Legos now, since they came back from Afghanistan. I am corrupting everyone around me!!! :)

    Service is really bad at my TRU. You can't even tell the manager from the new employee. I would be luck to even find someone like that in my area.

    My local TRU is really bad too, don't even know how to manage their stuff and keep giving out wrong information! At least their store Manager called me back and listen to my complain after I called their corporate office. but the Asst Manager is a JackA$$!!!!

    Purchased 10196 Grand Carousel and 10189 Taj Mahal MISB. Will be building 10196 this weekend. Taj can simmer for a decade or so.

    My mom went and tried to talk to the TRU managers at the stores near her. They were mean to her too. I hate that so many AFOL have such aweful TRU experiences. I guess I am really lucky! Both my managers know when I walk it the one area I am going to lol. I shocked them one time when I came up to the cash reister with a Monster High dolls lol. The all grey one that was an exclusive at TRU. Had to get one each for my two youngest daughters.

    I guess that is one reason I don't mind going there and paying that extra $5 on the smaller sets. I went in and used my 20% email last week and that was when they gave me the display. The employees there are all nice and very friendly.
    And since the LEGO stores are an hour north of me, sometimes I just run in there and grab a small set or 2.

    I was at the Sunday carboot-sale in Chichester the other week and stumbled across a seller who was offering up set #8855 Propeller Plane, complete and with the original box for just £12! All the pieces were in great condition as well, you would have thought it had never been taken from the box before!
    He was also selling a bag of 700 great quality mixed bricks, also for £12 but didn't have enough cash in my pocket for that too ;)

    What would you do?

    The seller has just given me a partial refund, so I've effectively paid £6.50 for this including postage. Even with a trashed box, I think I'm happy with that :)

    Just left Fred Meyers and using a coupon code from the Toys N Bricks blog and the 2 coupons in this week's circular, I walked out with a new #9468 & Series 8 CMF for $59 including tax.. WOOT!

    @Penkid11 Yes, I asked the clerk prior to my purchase and told her if it didn't work could she void it; she said yes. She was very helpful and typed in the coupon code first then scanned the coupons.

    My second bulk buy ever and its for over 16lbs of bricks including minifigs, a whole Creator Stegosaurus and all parts in good condition. All for... $62 shipped!

    My best find was two nearly complete sets at a garage sale two years back, the Star Wars Rogue Shadow (2008) and Vader's TIE Fighter (2009) - both for $10 each.
