Lego Technic Air Tech Claw Rig #8868 for a ridiculously cheap $99.99 on eBay. All pieces still sealed, it's simply missing the battery box and motor, which I can get on Bricklink for $15 or so.

    @Lordharrier

How did you make those sets out from all of those? Partially built sets?

Yup, most of them were just broken up, so I'd find identifying pieces .. go to Bricklink and get their inventory... its taking forever but so much fun (it helps that I've been on staycation so I've got some extra free time). If you look at the pictures I've posted up thread you can see the top of one bin with what is obviously an MTT and a Troll Battle Wheel. The rest of the bins weren't as obvious but when you find a complete sign with a sticker that says "Cinema" that is an obvious clue that you might indeed have Town Plan. You then check the inventory and yes you have the minifigs, yes you have the plates, yes you have x number of light blue bricks, yes you have the movie screen, billboards, sign that says Lego Town. Same for the Modular buildings, the seller told me he had the old ones so when I start to find pieces of the Hotel sign from CC, the black 6 pane door, the right door, the dark red slopes, the tan arches..

    You dig?

^ why do I get the feeling there is some upset AFOL out there that is saying "You did WHAT with my LEGOs????!!!!"
  • caperberrycaperberry Member Posts: 2,226
Not so much a brag find as a happy find. Airport drama = unexpected extra day in Basel. Switzerland was the last place I expected to find cheap Lego but passed a toy shop and lo there was Meteor Strike game for £9.80, very nice considering it's beyond EOL now. Always wanted it but never got round to it. Also got a Ghost polybag at £2.60 even though they may be free in The Sun in October. As a treat, my little Swiss Ghost :0)

Just to let you know, my brag earlier fell out, just went over everything, and someone brought that lot!
Anyway, this time it's all confirmed and I managed to get the Alpha Team 4744 for a fiver, well happy with that

Found a Red Bucket 4105 (487 Assorted Pieces) at Goodwill for $9.99 (no tax) All the bags were sealed and it included the Idea Booklet. I thought It probaby cost that much when it came out in 2006. Looked it up and it did cost that much! Oh well maybe with inflation it's worth a bit more. Plus it's all for charity after all.

Got a huge lot of shopgoodwill for $40. So far I have pieced out:
    10134 UCS Y-Wing Attack Starfighter
7661 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring
    10131 TIE Collection
    4479 TIE Bomber
A partial 7659 Imperial Landing Craft
And at least one or two more TIE Fighters

^Wow. That is impressive. If you've got an extra Kit Fisto I can give him a good home...
  • josecafejosecafe Member Posts: 29
Unfortunately this goodwill has a habit of removing all mini figures during their sorting. Out of all I only found 3 minis 2 TIE pilots and Darth Maul.

    Enchantee!

Was the highest bidder on ebay for a 10181 Eiffel Tower with 295GBP excl. shipping!

    I don't even like Paris :-p

Best bit: I am going to lend the thing to my employer (publishing) before xmas to promote a new publication about paris and recoup half the buying price this way...

I ll probably also put 10214 in the shop window (as last years book title was about London but the idea came to me too late)

Hmmm- maybe next year they are going for NY ... or Tatooine...

I thought getting Tower Bridge for £104 was going to be my bargain of the month, but I think I'm more chuffed with this other find, as they seem pretty rare - two brand new 9324 Micro Building sets, still sealed not only in their sturdy plastic LEGO Education boxes, but also in the LEGO cardboard shipping boxes.

    image

They worked out at about £37 each, which is not bad considering there's 1641 parts in each box, but wow, what a delightful set!

I guess it is worth more than that to others, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend more than $/£100 on a single minifig!
  • paul_mertonpaul_merton Member Posts: 2,967
Talking of minifigs, that reminds me of another good deal I got earlier this year (well, I think it was good). 1800 brand new city minifigs with assorted tools and headpieces for about £0.17 each. It seemed a good idea at the time, but I'm not entirely sure what to do with them now :-/

    @Paul_merton you could bring them to visit my City layout and see how many liked California so well they chose to stay! 8^}
  • paul_mertonpaul_merton Member Posts: 2,967
@AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz I see what you did there :) The second time I ever went to a Lego shop, I got about 200 minifig chairs from the PAB wall. Trying to pack those efficiently is "interesting" to say the least, but I was inspired by one of the shop displays, which was a load on minifigs sat in front of a cinema screen. Still not sure what to do with the other 1600, though :)
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
@LegobrandonCP TRU Express had it on clearance.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Alot of the Targets in my area marked down the remaining clearance items from 30-50% to 70%. Got a couple of SW battle packs for $3 as well as Minotaurs and one Heroica game for $4 each. That was all they had left at the particular Target I went to.

I bought a used 8450 "The Mission" set for .99 cents on Ebay last year with $6 shipping. There are 2 pieces in that set that are like Gold right now... The guy that sold it was a brand new member and I was more than happy to leave him his first feedback after I received it...

I just hit another Lego Lottery: 550$ for a teenager's entire Lego collection, pix are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordharrier/sets/72157630671996582/.

There has been an ad for some Star Wars ships on Craigslist that I've seen but they were asking for alot .. I think they wanted 300$ for 7676 Republic Gunship. I checked again and they had dropped their price to 125$ so I emailed them and asked them what they had available. I offered and they accepted 300$ for 7676, CTT, Republic attack Shuttle and a about 5 other ships all with boxes, figs and instructions. I've learned my lesson from the last time, this time I asked if they had any more Lego they wanted to sell. They said they had some bins, but it was all mixed. I said "let me see them" and I see an AT-AT, Venator, Republic Cruiser, Twilight ... I say "How much?" and they say "250$" SOLD!! went to an atm, came back and loaded the car up.

It wasn't until I got home that I spotted the Jabba and some sails... no way! yes way.. there is a complete Sail Barge, 7675 AT-TE,..its crazy I have to start documenting and cleaning..loads of dust. I still haven't finished my last haul but this was too good to pass up!

    550$ Craigslist Haul
    7676 Republic Gunship
    Jabba's sail barge
    7675 AT-TE
    Venator
    Republic Cruiser
    CTT
AT-AT (not sure which one yet)
    7965 MF
    Ashsoka's fighter
    Anakin's fighter
    seperatist shuttle
    AAT
    Dooku's solar sailor
    Tie Interceptor
    Home one
    Pirate speeder
    Y-wing
    ARC-170
    still sorting......

Mods, can you please update my post with a term that is better suited for my jealousy? :) Thank you.

Happy find for me today: I was just about to leave an antique store when out of the corner of my eye I spotted three yellow "LEGOLAND" boxes on the bottom shelf by the door. 6941 for $40, 6923 for $30, and 6955 for $45. Fair pricing for mint boxes with instructions. I ended up only buying 6941 since rent is due next week and I was always a fan of the Blacktron sets but the original Blacktron was released just a few years before my time (Blacktron 2 was my era of Lego space.) Any way, I finally got myself a sweet original Blacktron set in almost new condition. Yay!
