I have been looking for a queen Amidald head for over a year, rare & expensive as Sarlac teeth on Bricklink. This one popped up & I managed to win it for £17.25 including postage.
As you can see from the pictures she's much happier now. 🤣
*standby for moving this to the "One that got away" thread...*
Beyond thankful for the honesty of this person as I was about to coordinate local pickup with a family member nearby the seller who would have had no idea what to look for.
I knew it was too good to be true! My white whale continues to be elusive.
Well, as if the LEGO luck decided I was due good news after the above bust, I just connected with someone locally on a bulk lot. We'll be meeting on Friday afternoon. $40 for a half full sterilite bin. I'm guessing maybe ~10-15lbs worth. So far I can identify #7263 TIE Fighter, #6206 TIE Interceptor, and #7252 Droid Tri-Fighter.
There is at least one part from an older Harry Potter set and then several other bits I'll have to work to ID. According to the seller, they should all be complete with minifigs. I won't count it as a done deal until it's in my hands. But SUPER excited about this one!
I contacted the seller to see if they want the Honda key.
We sorted out a decent amount of non-LEGO, bonus Chucky Cheese token!
I'm not sure if there is enough in the bin to complete all of these sets. I'm certainly hoping so. And, if I somehow end up with the figs from the Clone Turbo Tank, I'll be thrilled!
2.5 days to wait!
Pretty sure this is the definition of counting my chickens before they hatch.
I think that represents all of the sets I can potentially identify as all the other bits I'm seeing are related to one of the other sets listed above. The only thing I can't tell is the instruction booklet in the bottom middle. Part of me think's it's a non-LEGO booklet, but not 100% sure on that.
Also, the more I look at the picture, the less convinced I am that any of these sets will be complete...unless it's a super deep bin? They are also going to check for any minifigs as they think they're in there, but not sure. Honestly, even if there was a couple of figs from each of the identified sets, that would more than cover my costs.
Still, the price is right for it if only for some more pieces into the collection.
Any chance that weird plane and "hoth-esque" DF.9 Laser Tower in the lower left are worth money? lol
My bad!
Sorting through, found a jango (version with a smile) with jetpack, but no helmet. That figure alone is about 25 euros. In total found about 30 sw figs (mostly OT in the sw400 range), a couple castle figs from the 2014 wave, the rest the usual robbers/city/firemen/ninjago.
All in all a good haul.
Looks to have been a solid purchase!
Think I've found about 200 green army guys that my kids will love. A bunch of early 2000's star wars action figures and toys too. If anyone is in the market....
I'll get some pictures posted soon. From digging around, the Turbo Tank is definitely not present except for some bits here and there. Hogwarts Castle, Tri-Fighter, Catamaran, and Interceptor look to be mostly/all complete. Not too many megablocks either, thankfully.
Counting this one as a WIN!
I will get a more detailed post after I have some time to go through all 19 bins. Bin #1 did not disappoint...
I spent a couple hours with my latest lot today. I was surprised to find 6086 burried in a tub, and it was mostly assembled in a large bag. I started with that set. It was only missing five figs, so I had to start the search. I dug into 12 of the 19 bins and I ended up finding about 200 medieval figs before I found what I needed to finish up 6086.
