The train was more complete than I expected, so I was able to fill in most of the missing parts, including wheels, buffers, and electrics. My wallet will feel it when I order the color-correct battery box.
Quick and dirty reassembly:
#2129
#6020
#6537
#8207
2 spare minifigs
The 2 dragsters are subcateogrized as Race sets. This one moved about 10 ft so there's still a little "oomph" in the elastic. 😄👍🏻
Hey @missourimike if you're into Technic & ever want to trade sets LMK! MO to MN isnt too far for sets to travel via USPS.
They have offered me a £1 discount on anything else from their eBay store and asked me to give them a 4+ star review. My recommendation, DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THE BRICK STORE on eBay!
It’s not a brag until it’s in your hands.
So they offer £1 discounts in exchange for good feedback after not fulfilling an order? I think I'd be leaving feedback, but not what they ask for.
I started going through this last night, trying to identify sets, etc. Seems to be '97-'02
If only there was the equivalent of a dishwasher for Lego. (Yes, I've heard of people putting Lego in the dishwasher. DO NOT DO THAT!)
Have since manage to identify some more small SW sets, some flying ninja, Alpha Team, HP....
The minifigs have been a little bit mixed up, so I've been putting the right heads, torsos, legs, & hands back together
Of course I had to start with the OG spaceship. It’s missing a couple of small parts, and there’s a fair bit of yellowing and playwear, but it’s so nostalgic.
I have driven that M-Tron awesomeness around the living room more, perhaps, than an adult ought to. (I was 21 when M-Tron came out in 1990.)
On Bricklink, that piece averages more than $30 used.
Another bag had one of the huge space wheels from #6989.
Last Saturday I woke up at 7:20am, because I’m old and unable to sleep in. I checked eBay because I’m addicted, and saw a listing simply titled “broken down star destroyer” for $100 with $10 shipping. One photo with a bunch of gray parts, ok whatever, but I checked the instruction book and realized it is #75252 the newish UCS Star Destroyer.
I mashed Buy Now as hard as I could. He asked if I wanted the original box too, I said great, if you can manage it.
He printed the label and sent the tracking number, Media Mail which was a little concerning for a 20 pound Lego set. I waited and waited and it never got past “Accepted at the post office” so I got worried that it was being held for more postage.
But this morning, it updated to Out For Delivery, arrived on my porch with a thud while I was making lunch, and I carefully unpacked it.
It will take some time to organize the parts and find out if anything is missing, and then of course I will need to build it. I hope the plaque and minifigures are here, and they’re just buried. Some dust, but it’s not discolored. He said he enjoyed having it, but needed to make room for other things.
There are several instruction books for other SW sets, but no evidence the bricks are here.
But, so far I have found:
- Pokemon cards
- a pack of gum
- a Zippo lighter
- AirPods Pro
- a sword of Exact-0
- a license plate from the big Porsche 911
Still calling the overall transaction a brag, just an odd one.
