$35 on OfferUp.
I've not had much luck with OfferUp, I think this is only my second purchase from there.. but this definitely makes it worthwhile to keep checking there.
There is currently a bulk lot that I'm heavily considering that is probably 75lbs worth of stuff and has numerous sets that I feel I could bring back to life. Ideally, I'd just resell a few of those back on OfferUp to cover my costs. It's probably not going to happen, but it's fun to dream.
Hopefully you find some great treasures in there!
After checkout it now reads "Condition: Used". That was not there when ordering! Well, we'll see if i finally get to brag... Or I'll simply return it.
I usually go in, and today was thinking how I rarely find anything there, only find was probably 3 years ago, but it was a boxed Architecture set for £1.50 so always worth checking just in case. Popped in on the way to the post office, didn't see anything in the toy section. But on the way back home, happened to see the fort box laid flat on a table displayed in the window. Genuinely thought "Ahh, that's not Lego, that's just the Playmobil fortWAIT A MINUTE THAT'S THAT SUPER RARE SET"
Then when I went in, saw the Hogwarts box right behind it!
Only one minifig between them, but the bricks are looking like new.
Thanks a lot - could've thought of that myself... ;)
You're not in the midlands are you? Just recently returned my brother-in-law's boxed #6769 that we had stored along with some other lego...
Total cost after shipping and tax: $103
What I could initially see on the listing, and what looks to be - on a casual sort - to be complete or nearly complete are:
#6285 Black Seas Barracuda (with box)
#6276 Eldorado Fortress
#6270 Forbidden Island
#6260 Shipwreck Island
#6066 Forestmen Camouflaged Outpost
I'm also seeing at least portions of:
#6259 Broadside's Brig
#6258 Smuggler's Shanty
Besides being pretty dirty, all the parts look to be in really great condition overall. There are a couple of broken clips on the flags, but the sails are all in fantastic condition. The raised baseplate for Eldorado Fortress is in spectacular condition. The minifigs are pristine.
I have a lot of sorting, inventorying, and cleaning ahead of me, but if those five sets are virtually complete, I'm estimating I've got about $900-$1200 value in this... Maybe more.
My total cost, with shipping: $300
My plan is to sell or trade at least some of these sets (as I already own one or two of all of them) for other Pirates (I'm still missing #6277) or classic sets.
I scored a decent bulk lot recently on FB Marketplace
$300 AUD for about 35 kilos, IDed these sets so far :
#4950 Loader - Dozer
#76013 Batman: The Joker Steam Roller
#645 Police Helicopter
#6268 Renegade Runner
#6375 Trans-Air Carrier (plane only)
#6591 Nitro Dragsters
#6648 Mag Racer
#6670 Rescue Rig
#6698 RV w/ Speedboat
#7180 Vader's TIE & Y-Wing
Bits of #7140 X-Wing
#6351 & #4025 manuals
(7180 should be #7150 )
"Take & make" bulk lot didnt pay off set-wise but I grabbed a mish-mash of bricks for $10. I got all the Technic 😁👍🏻, a yellow arch for #6277 's dock, blue mudguards to make #8662, a bunch of #7946 parts (the castle I lost out on TWICE recently- see "the one that got away" subtopic), a few replacement parts for #76104, & those white plate wedges must come in handy somewhere.
Unfortunately, the Kwik-E-Mart has no mini-figs or instructions but I was informed that there is only 1 piece missing from the building.... we shall see 🤨 Oh and I forgot to mention the free haul dust 🤣
