Saw #70912 (Arkham Asylum) for $101 at a local Walmart, but left it there for another lucky finder. Wasn't that set a TRU exclusive?

Charity shop trawl today- The box was for the UFO Attack game but when I picked it up it felt very heavy. Took the elastic band off. The box was full & could see some parts & some minifigs so for £3 I grabbed it.
Turned out to contain around 30 CMFs from series 7-10 ish, half a dozen City minifigs, Celebration Han, General Veers & a couple of Snowtroopers, Superman & Zod, Magneto & Woverine. Just under 50 minifigs all told (& a bunch of parts)
That sounds like the sort of dream I have. Only to then wake up.

I do have a couple of bags of donations to drop off somewhere, so I guess I know where they'll be heading

I was able to get 3lbs of random Lego, plus Magneto, Storm, Cyclops (minus head), an Iron Legion, Max, a complete CMF skeleton suit guy, Sam Gamgee (in great condition and I'm probably gonna sell him. PM if you're interested) plus a few other minifig parts. All that was $18. Pictures probably coming soon.

There's pics of most of the stuff. A few bits and bobs, plus a half built creator motorcycle are off-camera.

^Thanks! A bit of an update, I was able to find the head for Cyclops in the rest of the Lego that guy had for sale, so I am a happy camper.

@FowlerBricks- Star Wars T-6 Jedi Shuttle cockpit windscreen in there, but dont see more of it.

Also, that large Police boat as a set was quite a letdown. High price/piece, & not much to it.

    I found #75187 BB-8 for $49 and #76102 Thor’s Weapon Quest for $7 at Walmart tonight.

@gelkster Yes, I specifically picked out the cockpit. There were probably bits of it scattered in the giant bin I was pawing through and a friend of mine fished out a battered Shaak Ti headpiece. I didn't have the time or the money to find the rest of the shuttle though. The cockpit was too cool to pass up.

As for the boat, I totally ignored it when it was on shelves. XD But getting the hull in with all the bricks seemed like a good deal.

I've been watching this thread for quite a while at this point, and decided to join. In the last year I got a bag of used pieces for $20. Pieces were in great condition and all stickers and motors were in working condition. 99% complete.

    #4415-1 Auto Pod
    #4418-1 Dino Pod
    #7639-1 Camper

    #8669-1 Fire Spinner 360

Plus some assorted Aqua Raiders pieces, parts for another #7639-1, #8126-1 minus the road piece, parts for #7990-1, among other parts. I was pleased.

Other deals of the year were a brand new Wii U Dimensions starter pack for $12, #8898-1 Wreckage Road sealed for $30, #3860-1 Castle Fortaan used for free(100% complete), and #3851-1 Atlantis Treasure used for $10(missing one common piece).

I need to wait until it arrives to confirm, but I just won an eBay auction from a charity shop account for the train, crane wagon and log wagon from #60198 for £47. From the photos it comes with the PU battery box and motor, but no controller or track. I can use my phone for control and we have plenty of track. Might hunt out the control tower to complete the set at some point.

Just got this Lord of the Rings haul off craigslist for $100.  It looks to be complete other than missing one of Gollum's arms and the boat from Riddles for the Ring.  Pretty happy with that!

    79008-1: Pirate Ship Ambush
    9472-1: Attack On Weathertop
    9473-1: The Mines of Moria
    9471-1: Uruk-Hai Army
    9469-1: Gandalf Arrives
    79000-1: Riddles for the Ring

Anyone have an idea what parts/sets might be in this box, Exploriens? The Trans-Blue canopys could be from #6958?

    FowlerBricksLEGOFan2lkliment2
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,281
Yes, #6958. Also, (probably) #6982 Explorien Starship, #6991 Monorail Transport Base (the trans-blue canopy with the sticker), #6949 Robo-Guardian (the trans-red canopy in the white piece at lower right), #6983 Ice Station Odyssey (the Trans-fluorescent red canopies. That red plate with the cutouts on the sides is possibly from London Bus, set number #760 in the USA, #384 in Europe. I don't know if that piece came in any other sets, but I have #760, so I know it's in that one. Looks like a great batch of Space stuff!

That doesn't 'detect' anything - it's a UV light.  Unless you shine it AT a scorpion, you're not going to know it is there.

The last time I detected a scorpion it was with my thumb grabbing a log for a campfire from a woodpile. Technically he detected me first though. #ontopic

^ As effective as that method may be for scorpions (happily we don't tend get any in the area of South Australia we're in), it's not suggested for Redbacks, unless you're looking for a hospital visit. My parents used to have a one of those woodstove style fireplaces & back when I was a teenager I was the firewood collector. The amount of times I had to quickly drop a piece of timber & smash it with another one because of those evil red striped buggers, I still don't miss the warmth of a fireplace enough yet to want one in my house.

The sprinkles on their donuts light up as well... and if you listen very intently, you can hear 'Another One Bites the Dust' faintly.

As this is the brag thread, I will brag that Bulgaria pretty much doesn't have any poisonous plants or creatures to worry about.
What about the Atropa Bella-Donna aka Deadly Nightshade?

    (Yes, I did Google that...)

No no, it's meant for the extremely elusive Medium Blue scorpions. They're usually invisible, but when you shine a UV light at them their left leg lights up.
I've now only just got this, merging the Scorpion Detector and Homers glowing leg threads into one. I posted the scorpions, as I thought you were talking real scorpions!!!

Ok, I think this is pretty good. Found a #75955 on the top shelf at Walmart for $35. Slightly damaged box, but intact seals and everything seems to be there.

Found a sealed #7163 for $200 local pickup. Have not pulled the trigger yet, could use some Bricksetter input! Important to note, I already have one and would want to open this one to build.

^ So you have one, but you haven't built it? Go for it! I think the price is reasonable for a sealed, 17-year-old SW LEGO set. You gotta build one (at least)! Jedi Bob, after all!

That's my mistake, I should clarify. The one I have IS built but I would want to open and build the SEALED version  as well, just for the sake of building a brand new set that is that old
