Just curious how many people have bought this already - and if anyone was able to get a pretty good deal on it. I'm patiently waiting for a good deal, such as a BOGO from TRU. Not sure there will be a better deal than that, but if someone was able to find one, please share.

Waiting is the hard part.....

pretty sure it could have been had on a TRU BOGO right when it first came out. But if you missed that, I haven't seen any great deals since the personally. give it time though.

this reminds me - and sorry for the threadjack here - is there historically/typically been any good deals on LEGO on Black Friday? having just come out of my dark ages this past spring, I'm curious to know whether I should prep myself up for that day.

@dougts Walmart last year had the $30 brick boxes for only $15 online with $.97 shipping per each one. Both the pink and blue box. That was the only one I recall.

For UK folks, the new Falcon is around 18% off currently on Amazon.

Also discounted in the US at Amazon.com, but only 8% off.

^ You biting or holding out for a better deal? I'm erring towards holding out because I'm sure it will either go lower or become available in a 3for2 offer before too long.

    ^ Dave's threshold is 30% Off so I would assume he's waiting. :o)

I got this from Toys R Us with a 20% discount voucher, in addition I asked them to price match it first, so I got it for circa £105 in the UK, which I thought wasn't too bad.

    ^^ I have it already.....

    ;-)

You guys are right, though - I wouldn't have jumped at 18%.

TRU has a 20% off a single item coupon available last week if you "liked" their facebook page. Promo may still be going. I bought my falcon with that. Built it with my son last weekend. I think it's the best design of the 3 minifig scale falcons.

    24% off currently at amazon.co.uk
  • YpresYpres Member Posts: 200
Well I'm currently wondering if TRU still has that coupon working... did it expire? Has anyone in the States tried printing one off lately and using it?

I'm just heading down to the States on Monday and am curious if this promo is still on... I'm only wondering because it's still listed on the Facebook-TRU homepage.

    If anyone knows (do tell),
    Thanks.

^ I hope your coupon still works because the discount on Amazon in the U.S. is much smaller than the U.K. discount - only 8% last time I looked.....

Toys r us has that set on sale tomorrow (8/26) and saturday (8/27) for 25% off. Don't think a coupon is required.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
which works out to be about 19% off RRP, since TRU has it marked up an extra $10
  • allendeanallendean Member Posts: 32
I saw it on Amazon (U.S.) the other day for $90 from some seller. Is that legit?
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ I saw that too and am monitoring it. There's a thread going on Toys N Bricks which is keeping track of that seller. Several people have mentioned making recent purchases from that seller - but nobody has posted receiving the items yet. I'd recommend watching that thread.

    Just ordered it for £91.44

Good deal? What say you fine people, Yay or Nay?

(I have a completely unfounded and baseless yet nagging feeling that it will be found for under £80 in stores next year).
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
I think thats a good price so near to release. I paid circa £100, which I was happy with so close to release. Might go lower, and I guess you might get it for £80 in say a 3 for 2 deal, but if you want it now, it's a good price.
  • legomattlegomatt Member Posts: 2,543
Thanks, richo, made me feel a bit better about the deal. You're right, my concern is mainly becuase it's so new, that I might be biting much too early.

Especially as I'm in no particular hurry, really. Was thinking of getting it for christmas (but felt there might be no deals to be had by then - which would have then meant buying it next year... and feeling very silly if it never goes below £100 next year).

Will be interesting to watch either way. :o)

@Matt, did you get your Falcon mate?

Mine has sat in my office for a couple of weeks as have been so busy with work that not had chance to build, but I think it will be breaking free this weekend!

I am considering starting a MOC of the Cloud City landing platform to put it on aswell.
  • legomattlegomatt Member Posts: 2,543
Yep, got it, opened it, going to build it later. (sticker sheet got a bit crushed - but i'm not too bothered as i don't usually put them on... but what's with the grey square sticker just to turn a light brick into a dark brick... just use a dark brick! lol).

Blimey, best of luck with the cloud city moc... I keep drawing up designs for a cloud city play set (similar in style to the death star)... but for now that remains a big cloud city shaped pie in the sky...
    :o)

I was going to get the falcon on Amazon which until recently was reduced to £101.60 but now it's gone up to £121.99 so I will wait til it goes down before I buy it.

    @firox5000

I bought mine from VERY, They are/were having a 20% off sale on Lego (and other stuff), PLUS you should be able to find a further 10% off discount either for opening an account:

    http://www.very.co.uk/financialservices/en/first-order-discount.page

OR you might already have a discount code, if you have an account (which i did).

OR, OR, you can scour the internet for an even better first timer deal - sometimes there are £30 off codes etc for first time customers.

AND delivery is free to a collect+ pick up point (I had one just across the town where i live).

Of course, next year amazon et all might just start knocking £40+ off as standard, as it is still in the new phase.
