How should I display my Minifigure series? With or without their accessories?

There was a post on here a while back, someone had made 8 by 8 (might've been 6 by 6) cubes for every minifigure in a series and made proper scenery, for example the racecar driver had a little garage.

It would be costly but it looked fantastic, wish I could find the picture.
