If they were to make a Marvel Superheroes CMF series...

...which 16 characters would you want?

I would want...
Vision (avengers)
Scarlet witch (avengers)
Quicksilver (avengers)
Black panther (avengers)
Gambit (x-men)
Psylock (x-men)
Rogue (x-men)
Nightcrawler (x-men)
Daredevil
Punisher
Ghost rider
Moon knight
Apocalypse
Thanos
Ultron
Sabertooth

I considered kingpin and colossus but I figured they might need to be big figs.
Same for fantastic four since the thing would probably need to be a big fig and no point of not having all four.

I think they would have a good chunk of big characters and pre-existing figures. Daredevil, Cyclops, Mr Fantastic, a new Iron man, Spider-Man, then some that are in the public eye like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, a Winter Soldier etc, then maybe one or two fan service figs like Squirrel Girl, Fantomex, Black Panther or Ms Marvel.

I'd personally like an even-ish split of heroes (Winghead Cap, Shellhead Iron Man, Classic Vision, Yellow Wolverine, classic Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Wasp, Mrs Marvel perhaps) and villians (Thanos, Kang, classic Ultron, classic Mandarin, some "redshirt" army builders, AIM, Hydra, Hand Ninjas etc.).

A must in my eyes would be army builders.
In addition to those I listed, SHEILD agents, SHEILD Mandroids, Skrull, Kree, and Shi'ar troopers are some of the things I'd like. As long as Lego do make Marvel CMFs in some shape of form I'll die happy.
  • DrmnezDrmnez Member Posts: 855
It doesn't matter to me which 16 they are.

honestly, Lego is contracted with marvel, so they would put figs that coincide with the movies/cartoons or anything they say. It'd be nice to hope for what you want but realistically its up to marvel

I'm not so sure about that; if you take The LEGO Movie Minifigures line, they give us characters so obscure that a good percentage of the audience probably didn't even see them in the movie, while excluding main characters like Vitruvius and Benny.

Seeing as there are already sets based on Marvel I think that @Steve_J_OM‌ has got a fair point. Looking as the Simpsons CMF lineup you might try to argue, but with only one set in the theme which is a high end set the Lego Movie CMF is a much more logical comparison. However that said if it were to happen I'd like to see (in no particular order)

    Beast (X-men)
    Prof X (X-men)
    Night crawler (X-men)
    Rogue (X-men)
Johnny Storm - Flaming version (Fantastic Four)
    Mr Fantastic (Fantastic Four)
    Invisible Woman (Fantastic Four)
    Thing (Fantastic Four)
    Bruce Banner (Hulk)
Cpt America - variation based on the rescue scene from the first avenger film
    Galactus
    Silver Surfer
    Vulture
    Mystique
    Agent Coulsen
    Agent Hill

There are way too many for me to pick, but amongst my faves would be Spider-Woman (the Jessica Drew one) and Bucky-Cap. Maybe some alter-egos as well, like Peter Parker instead of Spider-Man. Honestly though, as long as I can get more Marvel characters, it's all good.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
I think the issue I have with some of the alter-egos is that it is basically "ordinary man" man. Meaning you have an 8 year old opening a pack, hoping for a SUPER HERO! Like, with a cape, or beast, or something with lasers. Then you get "Peter Parker." Just a guy in a hoodie. Or Bruce Banner. Just a guy in a blazer.

  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ I feel the same way. I've always just made my own Peter Parkers, Bruce Banners, etc. Of course, some of the past CMFs haven't been all that exciting by comparison. But a kid opener a pack labeled 'Super Heroes' will want the costumed hero.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
A blind pack SH line definitely shouldn't have the alter egos. They fit better in sets where you'd get both the hero and the alter ego.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I don't see why they shouldn't, let's be fair there will always be more and less desirable figures in each CMF series, and a batch of generic looking characters will be more desirable to people who want extra characters for scene building. Considering that all the CMFs come with accessories too, Peter Parker with a camera and a picture of Spiderman, things like that could work for filler characters, I know that not everyone likes filler characters but they do have uses.

    I'd go with the following:

Gambit (but not with a printed on trenchcoat)
    Rogue
    Beast
    Psylocke
    Jubilee
Cyclops (from the early 90's... and not with a printed visor)
    Jean Grey
    Archangel
    Professor X
    Mystique
    Emma Frost
    Pyro
    Avalanche
    Sabretooth
Green Goblin (classic purple and green)
    Hellfire Club Guard

I would have put Apocalypse in there, too, but a minifig version wouldn't really work, as even at his smallest, he's still much larger than a normal human.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
Would be great to have a Gambit

    Haha!!

Of course, if I had been drinking something when I read @CCC follow-up comment, I might have spit it on my screen from laughing too hard. ;-)

I really have not paid attention to the minor superhero characters, and my favorite (Thor) has already been done, so I really do not have any preferences, but a few cool females ready to kick bad-guy butt... We have a few people here that would buy that. :-)

  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
Yes, we know you are the Gloria Steinem of the Lego Minifigure world...lol.

I'm all for female Super heroes and heroines. Bring em on!!

I also agree with this. I was really surprised they didn't include Moe in the Simpsons set since he is my favorite character.

so @y2josh, you just want a X-men CMA set ,lol
if the did a Marvel Series, half the figures would be rehashes of the core characters we already have in sets....a few i wouldnt mind seeing are a descent classic Green or Hobgoblin, a Black suit Spiderman, Gambit(fabric coat),Clearish IceMan, Archangel,Ghost rider,Prof X, Chrome Silver Surfer.

but what id really like to see (a little Off topic)....id like to see LEGO use the Alarm Clock molds and adjust the front torso and create new heads for, Galactus and a Sentinel and market them as Mega-Figures, with a few bricks and a mini-figure or two.
Example. Flamming Johnny Storm and Silver surfer w/ brickbuilt asteroid Vs. Galactus
or Colossus and Angel w/ brickbuilt debris Vs. Sentinel.
  • ReesesPiecesReesesPieces Member Posts: 1,120
I am torn by the alter ego idea.
It is nice to have the alter egos of the major characters but I agree with what some are saying about how they will end up being generic figures (although the Clark kent figure is pretty awesome!).

A shield set with bunch of shield agents would be cool. Also, maybe a shild vs hydra battle pack like the Star Wars set will work for me.

I was also very disappointed with the printed on visor for the upcoming cyclops since he is often recognized with just his red glasses. I feel like they got lazy and took the easy way with cyclops.

To be fair, I really just ran through the best characters that haven't been represented in minifig form (though I'm primarily an X-Men and Spidey fan, too). If anything, my list speaks directly to how woefully underrepresented the X-Men have been to this point.

There are a lot of elements of these characters that I feel should have more depth to them, but in Cyclops' case, I'm not sure how they could have done the visor without doing an Iron Man/Batman style bobblehead piece. I think 90's Scott would be easier, due to the visor likely being able to be part of the hair mold.

I tried to avoid characters that have been done for except those that are known A-Listers and need to be there to justify the line. I sprinkled in a few obscure characters, but they are relevant with the mainstream/modern audience.

    Iron Man Mark V (Silver)
    Captain America (WW2)
    Spider-Man (Superior)
Thor (Any version so long as he has a helmet)
    Wolverine (Classic tiger stripes)
    Mr. Fantastic
    Human Torch
    Daredevil
    Ghost Rider
    Punisher
    Winter Soldier
    Gambit
    Rogue
    Agent Coulson (PLEASE!)
    Yondu (Guardians of the Galaxy)
    Silver Surfer

I avoided Hulk, Thanos and Apocalypse because I feel they require the bigger mold.
  • chuxtoyboxchuxtoybox Member Posts: 711
Most of my favorites have been done already but I'm still waiting for Ghost Rider. Johnny Blaze version and Danny Ketch version.

Maybe a gray Hulk and a red Hulk.

As for alter egos, I think they could make cool figures if the character is iconic enough without his costume.
As said above, Peter Parker could have a camera and glasses.

Matt Murdock is pretty familiar with his dark glasses and cane.

You could have Bruce Banner in a ripped shirt and pants.

Johnny Blaze could wear the blue leathers and maybe a double sided face that is normal on one side and half transformed into a skull on the other with red eyes.

I'm sure there are a lot of other examples.
  • richlrichl Member Posts: 246
A double-sided head for a Peter Parker minifig would be a no-brainer - regular on one side, 'Spider-Sense Tingling!' on the other side, with half-Peter and half-Spidey.

I would like an X-men only series
    Prof X
    Wolverine
    Jean Grey
    Cyclops
    Colossus
    Ice Man
    Rogue
    Gambit
    Beast
    Magneto
    Mystique
    Sabertooth
    Juggernaut
    Archangel
    Nightcrawler
    Emma Frost

Juggernaut would have an over body piece to bulk him up

Prof X has a chair that is built by 16 pieces, one piece in each cmf bag

All cmf are in classic outfits
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
    Cable
    Gambit
    Sabretooth
    Juggernaut
    Colossus (chrome)

My top 5 to keep it sweet.
  • legonickblegonickb Member Posts: 57
    Here is my suggestion

    Captain Britain
Bruce Banner after being the hulk - ripped trousers etc
    Silver surfer
    Kraven the hunter
    SHIELD Agent
    Ghost Rider
    HYDRA Agent
    Peter Parker
    Iron Man - Silver Armour
    Ice Man
    Sub Mariner
    The Lizard
    Gambit
    Daredevil
    Captain America WW2 outfit
    Doctor Strange
  • legonickblegonickb Member Posts: 57
Could of mention loads more - x-men, fantastic four etc etc
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
The more I add Super Hero minifigs to my display at home, and the more I see all of these amazing lists, the more I realize LEGO would never do a Super Hero CMF line.

They can extend this license for a decade or more peppering these figures into sets. Why "give them away" for $4 a pop when they can sprinkle a few into a set and charge $50 or $80 or $120 for them?

This series is seeming more and more like an anchor for LEGO for years to come. Which is sort of nice to not have to rely on Star Wars quite as much.

    1. Moon Knight
    2. Daredevil
    3. Human Torch (Flame On!)
    4. Transparent Invisible Woman (arm or legs, ideally entire fig)
    5. Sentinel (Minifig scale)
    6. Iceman
    7. Black Suit Spider-man (ASM version)
    8. SHIELD Agent
    9. Winter Soldier
    10. Silver Samurai
    11. Dark Phoenix
    12. Iron Patriot (Dark Avengers)
    13. Thor (w/helmet)
    14. Quicksilver (comics)
    15. Iron Man Mark 41 "Bones"
    16. Ant-man (comics)
    17. Chrome Silver Surfer (Chase fig ala Mr. Gold Limited 5000)

If LEGO did release a Superheroes-themed series of CMFs I suspect they'd pick the best known characters to keep the appeal as broad as possible.

I doubt it. CMF is the perfect avenue for obscure characters. Meaning everyone besides Spider-man and Avengers.

    Shadowcat
    Gambit

According to Marvel, the Marvel Universe is now over 8,000 characters. Personally, I would be happy with just about any character if it meant getting Marvel CMFs.

That said, my top choices would be:
    Any Iron Man armor variant
    Iron Spider Armor Spider-Man
    Future Foundation Spider-Man
    Carnage
    Bishop
    Forge
    Cable
    Domino
    Nightcrawler

and one that I'm sure everyone would want....

    Miss Jubilation Lee!

Since they brought back the DC thread here are 16 characters I'd like to see in the future.

    Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)
    Phoenix (Jean Grey)
    Beast
    Professor Xavier
    She-Hulk
    Sif
    Enchantress
    Executioner
    Invisible Woman
    Human Torch
    Mr. Fantastic
    Thing
    Bruce Banner
    Jubilee
    Rogue
    Winter Soldier

Some of these people would work better in sets so here's 8 more.

    Mockingbird
    Squirrel Girl
    Daredevil
    616 Green Goblin
    Gambit
    Kitty Pryde
    Madame Masque
    Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
    Valkyrie

  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
That would be cool, but I think it'd be more likely in a promo poly than a CMF line. They are meant to be rebooting the fantastic four film franchise, so you never know there might be an opportunity somewhere along the lines.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,704
If they do, they could just do the lesser known characters or some characters Lego really know they will never be in any set. The line should also consist of alternative suits or alter egos for some superheroes. Such as Black Suit Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Superior Spider-Man, Iron Man armours etc.

I want a Stan Lee minifigure but he might be better as an exclusive ploybag.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I wouldn't be surprised if they did a stan lee minifigure as a comicon exclusive - funko pop vinyl have done a couple of convention exclusive Stan Lees

^I hope not, they are near impossible to get hold of and the figures are pretty sweet.

Some good lists here! Here would be my favorites:

    Cable
    Apocalypse
    Winter Solder
    Nightcrawler

    Daredevil
    Dr. Strange
    Black Panther
    Carnage
    Iron Spider
