My store (Lego Discovery Center TX) recently filled the top row with those Christmas baubles (I guess they got a shipment in of leftovers?). I bought the one with gold bricks, but those are kind of a rip at $8 for 44 pcs...

The Lego Store in Concord NC also has the new special parts for making vehicles listed in this thread.

Lego Store in Houston (Galleria) had those same space parts today, with "New" labels on them. Also some other parts with a Yoda tag. I stacked white 1x6x5 wall panels together on 6x8 green plates, filling the space in the panels with combinations of light bley 4x4 plates and light green 1x4 plates. Took awhile, but I called it my vacation day after carting kids around to stuff all weekend. At least two separate bins of plant pieces there, too.

I discovered tonight that the "exclusive parts" (the ones with the frames around the bins) are on the "do not discount" list like the expert sets. Seems like this will be difficult for store employees to adhere to - what if you put half exclusive and half non-exclusive parts in the same cup? What if you put 99% non-exclusive and a single exclusive part on top? I don't think they thought that one through...

@DadsAFOL, do not discount, as in the 50 cents off one receives if we bring in our old cups? I guess I normally only buy what is on sale or from the PAB wall, so I'm now feeling a bit ignorant about the "do not discount" rule.

Yeah, I see that rule being one that the person working can let pass for a tried and true returning customer. When they used to have grab bags (oh how I miss grab bags), the employees would bring out bags that had not yet made the store floor. Then again, when a person spends $200-300 a visit on grab bags and PAB parts, they know to "help out" a bit. Good customer service in the end.

Man oh Man - I miss the grab bags, too - but I spent way too much on them. And other customers looked at me with confusion when I would buy all the grab bags from the store. It was an addiction. I literally couldn't stop myself from picking up the bags.

    I miss them so much...

Prices per cup also went up, 8.99 and 15.99. Inevitable though annoying. Hopefully if we are paying more we can see a broader range of bits.

Vacationing in Florida: while in Downtown Disney Store in Orlando I was told boxes are now $100.00 USD!!! OUCH!!! They said that was across the board in ALL stores in the USA

At least you can still buy them. Here in the UK they've banned sales of them altogether.

Interestingly, I was told that it was a decision taken jointly by all UK stores, rather than TLG...

the K-boxes. the ones where you can buy a box of just a specific size and color. Highly valuable to moc'rs who use a ton of a certain element, people who buy boxes to split with other people, and/or Bricklink store owners

To elaborate a hair, the K-boxes are how lego stores order parts for the PAB wall and are able to sell them as is. Although YMMV on that as I have found stores that won't sell them even though the managers I've talked to about it said it is supposed to be policy just not advertised.

Ours had signs over some of the parts "great for star wars" "great for Lego City" and "new part" mostly car tires wheels and plane pieces with the last one

Actually checked the paB online, and they have more parts added as well, including 1x2 Masonry brick. Though, a bit pricey. Probably still cheaper if you can find them in a wal and get a cup of them instead.

My dream is to find the masonry bricks on the wall.

They are hard to find, mostly because LEGO cannot really restrict how many cups you fill with what.
I caught them twice in stock (at Woodfield in Shaumburg, IL), and not since then. Although I would say be sure to ask the employees if they have them in the back and just have not put them in the wall yet.
But you get a lot more bang for your buck if you can find them on a wall and fill up a large cup.
