Just a quick one - in this poly is the cape boxed? If yes then mine has the cape missing. Bad TLG!

It is not boxed, I had to look at it over a light and you can see the cape "shadow"

Good question. If someone wants to send me one, I'll open it up to double-check. ;oP

Me too, I'll help and have a look too. Just send one my way, thanks.

I thought mine was missing too but it was just loose in the bag, clinging to the side.

I don't recall the capes in other recent give-away polys (Jor-el and Elrond) being boxed.

I don't remember them being in boxes in CMFs either.

I think it's possibly due to the type of polybag being used. Being in the newer and less crinkly bag, the capes are definitely more difficult to detect. They're getting 'sucked' to the inside surface of the bag.

I can't be bothered to check which just now but I definitely have some polys where the cape is boxed. I asked about the Martian because my wife said it felt empty, to which I replied there should be a small box within as well as the minifigure parts. Didn't want to open it to check because I'm saving my poly collection for when we have kids, so I can give out non-food treats here and there.

    Hmm...

*strokes chin, taps contents of large pipe onto fireside mantle-piece*

...This sounds like it's a much bigger mystery than at first thought.

*waves index finger vaguely in the air, with scant regard for where its been*

I consider the only solution is for everyone to send me one of every minifig poly that came with a cape (Jor -El, Chrome Vader, Martian Manhunter, Mirkwood Elf), and I'll report my findings forthwith.

*takes violin from music-stand, proceeds to play it appallingly*

No, no, don't thank me. It's a task I'm only too happy to undertake.

*(pauses)... ponders... puts music-stand down, picks up violin instead*
    Ah, this sounds much better...

I think its rental is included with rental of a $75/£50 set(s).

Opened one, can confirm no box, just a loose cape.
