Dad returning to my roots with my son
I have a couple page "Ode to becoming an AFOL" attached many of you might find entertaining. Otherwise I'm a dad that recently reconnected with my childhood love of Legos while playing with them with my son.
Here's quick highlight from a section of my longer "ode".
This winter after I hit my "tipping point" the following things happend:
I bought the Lego Studio set and 8 more pounds of bulk white pieces on Ebay for school.
I brought home and cleaned my collection of three large Rubbermaid bins from my parent’s house.
I bought 20 or so organizing shelf units.
I bought various sets and bulk Legos on eBay. (Most of this was Christmas gift money so I didn't go into our budget for this. There isn't a budget for this. Ha.)
I created accounts for Bricklink, Bricktset, Rebrickable, Brick Picker, Flicker and of course Lego.com.
I created pricing spreadsheets to know when to buy a good deal and when to pass.
I organized all my pieces, old and new, into usable drawers for my son and I to use.
We built a three-sided station for us to build next to each other.
Lastly, I had some awkward conversations with my wife.
Looking forward to learning more from this site.
