If you want to cherry pick a box, you must embarrass yourself publicly like the rest of us.

The Simpsons CMF is so easy to smoosh, I feel like I have to stand around for 10 extra minutes just to get the same sense of embarassment

When I bought mine they were ringing up at 3.97 each. But the next morning the add came out with the Lego movie figures for 2.97 each. So I went back and was able to get a price adjustment of a dollar each + tax.

I'll bite. What rationale did you use to justify a price adjustment on what is essentially a different item? That would be like me buying a Haunted House, then going back and saying "Hey, the Vampyre Castle is only $100, can you please adjust this Haunted House down to $100?"
Actually, Wal Marts were running a sale for Lego Movie Minifigs for $2.97, and since they haven't had any movie minifigs in forever, Lego and WalMart agreed to sell the Simpsons for $2.97 last week. It was an ad replacement and you can see photos in previous pages of Wal Mart signs stating this. So in my opinion, it's fine if he got the price corrected, as my Wal Mart said they'd do it for me b/c they didn't have any stock to sell, so it's basically a rain check...but ymmv.

Noo... !!! TRU is running this promo on Thursdays: 10% off on store purchases using their credit card. That brought mine to $3.92 each after tax

ETA: Darn it now I will be judged for owning a TRU cc...

Thanks for clearing that up. Although, my mother is a manager at Walmart and her store had no such sale or signs. In fact, her store doesn't even have any Simpsons Minifigures. You can understand the concern; right? I also find it strange that TLG would tell Walmart to break the street date. These aren't supposed to be out out until May.

They won't give discounts on exclusives and threaten other retailers if they do. Put absurd limits on Darth Revan, yet they allow this? Hard to believe.

@Pitfall69‌ - I totally understand. It's a really weird situation, and my mistake...I thought the photo was a few pages back, but it was actually from TNB: http://www.toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=&t=10519

I think it was just some weird snafu considering they put a sale for movie minifigs that have been sold out for more than a month. :/

They were ringing up at that price the next day. I actually brought them back and had them scan the figures.

I bought the box to split with two other AFOLS so I won't be returning unwanted figures before I get judged on that also.

Tough crowd makes think I should not have bothered posting anything. Sorry for the line breaks also. ;)

And the worst part is that Judge Roy Snyder is on holiday, so it'll be Judge Constance Harm to sentence you.

Available at Target in Tampa now. On Dale Mabry near I-275.

As some others have already said, these may be the easiest to feel for the right ones. Bought 18 because I was a little iffy on a couple, but 16 out of 18 is by far my highest percentage to a complete set so far.

The Simpsons figures are now in Lego stores. At least the one I was in earlier today. I snapped a photo by asking nicely the crowd of people who were feeling the bags to step aside.

Yeah, can you imagine it? Picking up a couple of identical sets and taking them up to the till. You pull the card out of your wallet bringing it in full view of the store manager. He's over to you like Miss Trunchbull to not only interrogate you for a multiple purchase of two, but to also quiz you on whether he feels you are good for the credit. You just explain to him that once you've resold your £20 ships for £70 each you'll be up by £100 and in next week applying for a TRU Platinum.

Woohoo! Stopped by Target in Glen Burnie MD (Glen Burnie North, the one by TRU) and picked up a set plus two extra bags. They were at the end of an aisle and as of 9:00pm tonight they had lots of them. I don't know the proper term for the CMF box that they hang at the end of aisles, but the one I saw tonight was almost full.

Would you buy a box for 105 pounds - 170 dollars to keep or would you pass as there is going to be lots of them around.
  • theLEGOmantheLEGOman Member Posts: 1,524
£105 is pretty cheap in the UK, much cheaper than everywhere I have seen them at the moment.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
I guess it depends why you would want to keep them.

If for resale, then no. They will (probably) be discounted at some point.
If for yourself, then maybe. If you want a complete sealed box, then yes. If for the individual packets, then no, I'd buy individuals at a discount using vouchers.
  • theLEGOmantheLEGOman Member Posts: 1,524
Retail in the UK is £2.50 each, so a box of 60 is around £150. So at £105 that is not far off a 33% discount on a product that is just released/not officially available.

Just picked up 5 this morning at the Target in Canton, Baltimore, MD. I got Ralph, Scratchy, Bart, Apu, and Ned.
  • Pate5346Pate5346 Member Posts: 894
My thought was to keep it sealed. It is available from 28 th here. For some reason they are cheaper here ( I guess market pricing by LEGO ) plus they are discounted by 15% already. I do not know why.
For single packets I will use vouchers from TRU.
Just not sure that it would be worth it.

I bought a box. I always buy a box and unlike Brad Pitt, I don't have to ask what's inside the box ;)

After putting them all together yesterday and seeing them in person, I hope, hope, HOPE for a second series. They look great and are incredibly accurate. But now I NEED Smithers, Selma, Patty, etc.

@MinifiguresPlus. I got it off of his EBay store. I think it was $239.40 USD w/free shipping.

I picked up a box from @minifiguresPlus as well as have in the past and have been happy with getting them that way. It is nice that this series went to 3 full sets per box. Hoping they continue this with future series. My guess is they got enough feedback that boxes were being felt through and left with a bunch of the same few figures.

I did pick a box from @minifiguresPlus in the past as well (series 9 or 10) because at the time it was cheaper than buying individual bags. It is very convenient not having to feel the bags at the store.

At $260 or the $239 @Pitfall69 paid I would get a box now too. At $275, probably not.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
3 full sets, that's interesting. Too bad my store won't have any in till at least May 1st.
  • bkprbkpr Member Posts: 295
Picked up some from Target on San Felipe, Houston TX. $3.99 +tax each! Was after Itchy, Scratchy, Homer, & Krusty. Bought six packs* and with the feel method I came away with what I wanted plus an extra Scratchy (one for the dashboard of my car, and one for work), and a Chief Wiggum.

    * These were my first CMFs, so I wasn't confident in my feel method skillz. Was pleasantly surprised :)

Tried the Walmart on Yale in The Heights (Houston TX) last night but found no CMFs.

Bought the whole set from Lego Land in Schaumburg, IL. $4.00/pack but lego VIP gets 5% off purchase.
  • Gooker1Gooker1 Member Posts: 599
@bkpr - I did something similar w/ my extra Scratchy too!!

My TRU had a case on hold for a week, then got word a few days ago that they could be sold. Went through it and got a full set, might pick up some extras later. Need more Squishee cups, and I'm trying to think of a way to add hair to a Homer head to make Herb.

Considering @cavegod‌ spelt krusty with a c and just referred to scratchy as a cat I'd assume he's not a fan if the series and meant burns, easy enough mistake to make

the prices on these are ridiculous.. I'm not talking about the 3.99 but the absurd price of these on eBay. The sad thing is LEGO probably has no clue and will have only as many as the LEGO movie quantities out there.
  • nerick906nerick906 Member Posts: 430
I bought 5 packets for £2.50 each and got 3x times Krusty... oh well luck is with me...
  • theLEGOmantheLEGOman Member Posts: 1,524
Only 4 Krustys per box, so if they only have one box you have most of them.

Having gone through the packs, sometimes they have 3 bags in a row that are the same character.
